You can absolutely use a shifter with an integrated adapter plate to a standard transmission if you want to retain it and row gears. Most people eliminate the manual transmission out of convenience and also because of additional parasitic loss from the manual trans. You also have to be cognizant of torque application when using a manual, given the higher levels of torque an electric motor provides.

Problem un Virginia... if it's not mass production, it's an SCV.... a virtually useless ride, relegated to parades, shows, and events.
These vehicles are registered as new vehicles by the DOT. Much more than a parade vehicle.
