First-time viewer. Extraordinary car, extraordinary craftsmanship, and extraordinary video. I believe this is the best automotive video I have ever seen. Super photography, great narration, and superior music. Thank you, thank you, thank you for using some other than the stereotypical louder-than-the-narration-mediocre-screaming-electric-guitar that is generally inflicted on viewers. Truly a professional video.
You said it better than I could the only thing I would add is how wonderful it was to see the restoration in such detail. Each step of the restoration was covered and it was glorious to watch.
Great restoration! Almost bought one in 1970. Used & not that expensive. 4 speed car, same color, no vinyl top. Kick myself for buying a 63 1/2 Galaxy 4 speed & then selling it for nothing in 73. Oh well
The 67 GTO is one of the coolest and most beautiful cars of the 60s muscle car era. The color and everything else about this car and the very meticulous restoration is stunning!
This car has a special place in my heart. I was born in 1967. When I was little, my mom had two cars in a row with a similar color. First, she had a 1964 Chevrolet Corvair convertible. Next, she had a beautiful 1966 Pontiac Bonneville coupe in a silvery blue. Her next car was a green, 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Bonneville was a 389, I believe, and the Grand Prix was the same engine as that GTO...a big block 400 that would roast the rear tires off the wheels. I guess I have always been a Pontiac guy.
I've been restoring "Muscle Cars" since the mid '70s and from experience I appreciate all your hard work and care in what you do. I call this kind of thing "rolling art" and it truly is!! I'm currently restoring a '69 Mustang Fastback for it's original lady owner who's daddy purchased it for her back in '69 from Pasadena Ford. It's all stock and number's matching in Aztec Turqouise with stock black bucket seat interior, 351, AT, PS and PB.
First, '67 is my personal favorite GTO. The entire production is the best I have ever seen, starring of course, the restoration. Much has changed in the automotive paint world since I left it 35 years ago. The supplier for whom I worked sold DuPont and Ditzler and we stocked factory pints of Spies Hecker for our Benz dealers. Seeing that only one name of the three remains surprises me not a little.
Very nice program presentation here. I was fortunate to have owned a 67 GTO with a 400 and four speed. The difference in mine was that it was a convertable. It was the same color as this one with a black interior. One of the most pleasurable cars I ever owned.
Great show no doubt when I was about 13 years old. My brothers friend had a 67 GTO red with a white vinyl top and white and black interior and they found the total Trans Am and put the 400 drivetrain in it and air-conditioning and I’ll tell you why I always wanted one of those cards when I grew up. I never got one, but I still appreciate them like I did then.
I think when a vehicle needs that amount of replacements - you did a great job. Doing a little restomod to keep it driveable and fun to drive. Keeping it subtle to retain the soul.
I think the 67 is the greatest looking GTO made. You guys did a fantastic job restoring it, the world is better off with another 67 GTO back on the road , congrats !!!!
That blue metallic color was absolutely my favorite on the GM mid-size muscle cars of the mid-60s. Looked absolutely stunning when offset by the “perfunctory” Cragar S/S 5-spoke chrome aftermarket wheels.
Thanks for a trip down my childhood memory lane. Returning from the Vietnam war my late uncle bought a new 1967 GTO in Tyrol blue with white vinyl top and white interior equipped with his and hers automatic.
My dad was a GM factory rep for Pontiac Motor Division for 26 years. We had a '67 GTO the spitting image of that car. Beautiful restoration you guys did. My dad has a '66 and a '70 GTO now.
Thank you for the great feedback, we agree with you... a true-blue GTO and the story of family, persistence, and achievement are about as American as it gets. But we hope that people the world over pursue their automotive dreams with the same passion and enjoyment as well. Thanks again for the kind words!
When I was 15 years old (back in 1989), I was given a '67 Pontiac Tempest. It was in pretty rough shape. Not quite as bad as this one was to begin with but, it was rough. Originally, it was the same color as this GTO. It had the original 327. All matching numbers. I wish I would have had the resources at my disposal to have done a proper restoration on it and enjoy it. Sadly, though, I ended up selling it. It had a blown head gasket. My dad and I didn't know if it was a bad head gasket, warped heads, or a cracked block. There was oil in the coolant and coolant in the oil. Turns out, it was, in fact, just the head gasket. I love auto restoration videos (in general) and I especially love seeing GTOs, Tempests, Bonnevilles, and Catalinas restored. It always takes me back to a happier time. Thanks for sharing this video. You guys did an AMAZING job on it!
Awesome job befitting Muscle Car Of The Week and Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. Nice to see you again Kevin and thanks to the team and you for sharing.
I worked at a 24 hr. full service gas station from age 14 - 23 my 2nd car was very Early production 67 coupe same color and vinyl top 4 speed version drum brakes, non power steering no AC and it had a carter AFB most of them had quadra jets but that car was show room model . The owner was blown away yall did a awesome job everything is smart for today and point on, con grats guys . BEAUTIFUL !
Wasnt having good day but this video made it better. Great video, its like immersing yourself into this dream experience of restoring your own muscle car
FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC as a kid I had a '64 candy apple red, white vinyl top GTO. I loved that car. Always chasing speed, i went to a '69 MOPAR green RoadRunner, followed by a '72. Man, I'd love to have a restored, upgraded version of each😅😅😅 Great job presenting the car
The paint part is my favorite part of any resto video. This car probably took at least a year with the whole crew. They definitely got their money's worth. V8 Speed Shop, you guys have talent.
Awesome job and color! I've seen a few of those in high school, but the ones I loved the most were that burgundy red color with a black vinyl top. Two seniors who were friends then. One had a 66 and the other a 67. They were both burgundy/black vinyl and polished in the school body shop. One had a 389 engine and the other a 400. Both beautifully done, inside and out!
@@danieljacobson5774 You know the saying, "if you got to ask,..." They wont reveal that. Its not cheap. Problem is If you make them this expensive and perfect, you are afraid to drive it. Imagine some dumb ass, on their phone driving and hit you at a stop sign or wherever? Might end up a being crime scene! lol
Nice car. I was impressed that it had the Hurst His n Hers shifter. I installed one of those in a 1967 442 after converting from a 4 speed car to a T400 auto. Thumb up for the resto.
Good upload Kevin.......I really enjoyed seeing the original condition of the car, then the work that went into it to correct it, and finally the finished product. I loved the old GTO's.
I've owned several GTOs, but this one was my favorite! I took out the bottom headlights and used the holes for better ram-air into my tri-power set up. I threw on some headers, a cam, 5:13 rear gears and a pair of MT slicks which won me 15 trophys at the dragstrip! I sold it to some kid who pulled a wheelie at a red light and landed on top of another car!
There are no words that I can say. The appreciation of these master craftsmen who bring the muscle car to completion. And the owner who is lucky enough to be able to afford that process. Thank all. This video just warmed my Heart.
I bought a '67 GTO new. Plum MIst, biggest engine I could get, 4 speed, no power steering, No air con, white interior and 4:33 gears. That car was a rocket, I wish I had it today!
What an OUTSTANDING JOB! What a beautiful car. I had a 66 Lemans that had the GTO package except for having the 326 V8 instead of the 389 of that year.
Best year for the GTO. My friend had a 67 Lemans convertible. Looked like the GTO. Unfortunately for him, he was hit 3 times in it. Didn't get hurt, but car was destroyed. At the same time, I had a 67 Cutlass S, 330 4bbl. Still my favorite car. Maybe because I was 17.
Out of high school in 1974 my buddy swapped cars with his older brother. My buddy wound up with a 1966 GTO with about the same color blue, white interior, 389, 3 deuce, 4 spd. I got to drive it once; what an experience.
Incredible restore and took me right back to '73-74 in high school. Had a green '67 with vinyl top...know just what you mean. Was a beater for sure...guy I bought it from had built it for drags w/radical cam. Was great fun, but a cop magnet. Thanks for sharing this...made my day!
I had one I still wish I still had mine The 66 and 67 GTO what gorgeous muscle cars just to look at Those cars looked like they were fast just standing still
I had one too when I was 16 in 1976. I paid $500.00 for it. I sold it two years later so I know how you feel. At least we can say we had one and got to experience it.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful restoration!!!! My 1st car was a 1968 GTO 4 speed......God if I could go back and give it to you guys to do. Back then I had the car, but no $$$ for serious work. Now, almost 50 yrs later I have the $$$ but no car. Getting harder and harder to find good ones....great job!

Stunning. Fabulous, Wonderful. Oh boy, if only I could have had my beloved, long gone, 1973 Camaro Z28 undergo the same treatment! Thank you for producing such a captivating film.
I would love to see this same car done with a white top and white interior. And sport mirrors. Automatic transmission with the his and her shifter . Just love the car over any other. Great job guys.
I do like the better than new restoration of cars. This one appeared to have the right balance of modernized and original parts. I think back to some of the cars that I have owned and a process like this applied to them would be an amazing sight to see. I would drive them too. Thanks for sharing this project with us. I think my great Uncles 73 Chevrolet Caprice would be a fun one to run through this process. Not a muscle car but still it brings back some good memories.
You guys killed it with this car I have one but I know I don’t really have enough money to let you do mine I’m doing all the frame and suspension work and I have a Pontiac 400 to go back in it
What an incredible car restoration. What a fantastic and highly skilled group of men with an honorable team work ethic. This is an example of people coming together and showing extraordinary kindness and unity for the love and passion of a magnificent creation, the Pontiac GTO.
Phenomenal job! As much as I love these fabulous restorations (on worthy cars, such as this), I’m not sure the expense could be justified without some serious sentimental value. That being said, I’m sure many, many people will be asking to buy this car!
