Cosmetologist/esthetician here! It’s actually beneficial for all hair types to double Cleanse your hair. Oily hair types should only be washing two times a week to not over strip the hair but double washes are supposed to be the way everyone washes their hair
@@ht8038 that’s what we’re talking about tho? Specifically oily hair types shouldn’t wash daily either. You can go ask a local cosmetologist they’ll tell you you’re stripping your hair oils so it’s over producing way to much
Applying natural oils during scalp massages actually works in hair fall control. Oils such as coconut, onion, and rosemary are particularly good. I combine a few drops of rosemary oil to my liiitllextra cooconinon herbal hair oil and shampoo, and this really helped in getting good hair growth.
Just a reminder to everyone (from my hairstylist): If you wash your hair every day you do NOT need to double wash. Your hair isn’t exactly dirty so you only need to wash it once to clean it. But if you do shower every 2-7 days then yes you NEED to double wash. It will help prevent dirt and oils in your hair.
@@TouchéCrochet we shouldn't but some people (me too) like to shampoo everyday cause we feel disgusting after our hair gets sweaty throughout the day and we can't stand the oily feeling
If you have thin or greasy hair, this technique will work just as great on you, as it'll help remove excess oil and clean your follicles for easier volume. everyone should wash twice
I do too, and what worked better for me is just cleaning it twice a week but double cleansing with shampoo for oily hair and being careful with any kind of extra product to avoid it to touch my roots
@@cookacake ahh, i double cleanse twice a week and it works amazingly. I dont use special products so i dont stress bout that. My hair is super thin and it gets oily within not even 5days like 2 or 3

I already do this. I don't use the same shampoo twice though, I usually use a clarifying or refreshing shampoo on my roots and then a moisturizing shampoo for all of my hair and it keeps my hair healthy and it doesn't get greasy fast :)
Hi hairdresser here .. its good to wash hair twice regarding thick or thin hair . Just if u blonde please wash with regular shampoo 1st then 2nd with purple/toning shampoo .. because purple shampoo supposed to toning your hair not cleanse:) hope it help
i recommend using a sulfate free shampoo. i'm no hair specialist but i am an A level chemist and my teacher explained that sulfates can weigh down your hair so your hair can't reach the volume it has the potential to achieve. i hope that makes sense :)
Yeah my hairdresser recommended this a while back and I have been doing it ever since, my hair feels sooooooo much lighter and less tangly I promise this works. 👍🏼
For people with thin/fine hair and an oily scalp, wash daily if you need to. Yes it's recommend to wash your hair 2 times a week to let the oil buildup settle but that doesn't work for a lot of us with thinner/finer hair. For instance I have a lot of fine hair and I need to wash daily or else I will look like I walked out of the house with wet hair when I hadn't even taken a shower. (Yes I've tried the twice a week technique and I felt too dirty/oily to function correctly)
Everyone one asks me why my hair is so silky and not frizzy so here is what I do: (Keep in mind I am a stage 2c or 3b) -I only wash my hair 2 times a week - in the shower my steps are { - wash with shampoo -Wash out -conditioner - wash body -wash of body and wash out conditioner - then shampoo agin -wash out with COLD water} - then throughout the week put in HEATHY and NATURAL hair products (that means nothing with extreme chemicals) Then practice this for awhile and your hair should be perfect (Also use products that help your curls, not get rid of them) Have fun 🤩
Don’t put shampoo and massage it with a scalp massager !! Instead , scalp your hair with it before showering and when you put shampoo scalp with your fingers !! And don’t use too much shampoo it will cause dried hair if you already have dry hair ! And use oils once a week or twice a week if your hair is damaged , I recommend Argan oil , and don’t use coconut oil and olive oil because they are heavy and you probably don’t know how to remove them so your hair will look too much oily and if you want to put Argan oil and don’t know how to apply it search in UA-cam you will find plenty of videos , and if you have hair mask use it , I recommend Fino hair mask its Japanese and very good , hope that helps :)
Am I the only one who doesn't know how to wash their hair in the shower properly like ?? Early aswell Edit: thank u guys so muchh for the likesss. I've never gotten that many before 💕
Yes i still can’t wash my hair properly i either don’t get the right spots or some spots don’t get washed and my hair get oily from shampoo still in my hair
My grandmother taught me how So you started with wetting your hair(and brush it ) if you have thick hair part it in tow with a clip then fome a soap in your hand and massage your scalp (it is the best cleanser it will harden your hair a little but it really clenes it ) then wash it and ues shampoo twice and but conditioner and brush through your hair then but it up in a clip and clen your body it with soap and then let your hair down and rise the conditioner (my english is not good but I tried)
I wash my hair ounce a week I have very long hair I use 3 different shampoos and then a hair serum conditioner and sometimes a hair mask I also do hair slugging. The night before I wash. It’s a great routine for shiny hydrated hair.
Actually the 2x shampoo twice is for every type of scalp. I've learned this in cosmetology school. Remember to find the right shampoo for your hair/scalp needs. And 1-2x'sa week you need a clarifying shampoo.
Neutrogena residue one is amazing for the first cleanse, it removes left over product and helps your shampoo throughout the week. you only need to use it once a week!
I have really really thin hair and I take showers every other day. My mom told me about this method and ever since my hair has been so clean and smooth! (Btw I wash my hair every shower)
Ur not supposed to wash it every time u take a shower it damages your hair. Wash it one day yes one no because it wont stay smooth. (Its just a tip u dont have to take it seriously-)
Yes I definitely agree everyone knows about double conditioning but you should be double shampooing as well it’s a game changer regardless of hair type or skin type…if I shampoo once I gotta dry shampoo the next day when I double shampoos I can do 2-3 days without doing anything in the winter and 1-2 days in the summer not including wash day also in general your hair get less greasy overtime because your actually cleaning your scalp and not just removing buildup and dirt

Your hair is oily because you wash it too much. I used to wash my hair everyday because it was always greasy in the morning. I was a total grease ball if I didn't wash it. The problem was I was stripping the natural oils and my skin was overcompensating and cranking out the oil to protect my skin. Also why I never wore face lotion. I started washing my hair only once a week and moisturizing my face everyday and now I have normal skin and non greasy hair. I also found that dry shampoo on freshly washed and dried hair stops oil build up in the first place. Try it for a month and you'll see your hair be less oily.
