I just popped this into the ol' Dreamcast for the first time in years, good lord why is this game so much better and more fun than the modern 2Ks?! The attention to detail, the AI, the player chatter, the dunk packages, the ability to contain defensively, the ability to heat up offensively, the ability to post up and blow by your man, guys actually calling for the ball down low, the real life street courts, the contextual alley oops, all so good, how have they gone on to fuck it all up so badly?!?!? This game had chatrooms too that you could use with the keyboard, you could actually talk to people before the game, during the game, after the game, using text.....those were the days
Played this game all the time when I was kid! I recently got 2K13 and it's so cool comparing that game to this one and how much more advanced 2K13 is. So many great memories!
I couldn't believe how good these graphics were when this came out. Now I get mad because the water in Battlefield 4 doesn't ripple as authentically as i'd like # Jaded
I really miss the good old days hooking my keyboard up to controller port 2 and playing online all weekend and against my Dad and then watching the games on NBC on Sunday. Michael Jordan being back was incredible back in those days!! The Dreamcast games were so much better in terms of simulation gameplay. The current games are flat out ridiculous with arcade moves and have 20 kick balls a game. One thing I really miss is that you used to be able to swing your elbows on the rebound and clear people out big time, it was really awesome lol but they took it out after the Dreamcast games. I was so sad that the DC was being discontinued but it was a big relief when NFL and NBA 2K2 were released that year.
I remember a time when I could play a 2k game and confidently move around the court at will without feeling like I'm on ice skates or stuck in glue. Good times.
@@noshowjoe6596 NCAA Basketball 2K3 was on OG XBOX, PS2 and GameCube (which is one of the harder games to find on the system, since it was produced in such low quantities).
If you live in the Fort Smith / Van Buren area of Arkansas, you can pick one up at a place called GameExchange. When my first Dreamcast (a rare Sports Edition) finally gave out back in about 2010, that's where I got my other Dreamcast (normal one) for only $25.00.
2018 here and still watching it. I miss my childhood and this is my game.

Many hours went into this game!
Great graphics! ( for the time) and excellent gameplay. The good ole days :-)
I remeber when sports games had intros with actual game footage on them and you could watch trailers for upcoming games on the disc.

Qué maravilla papá, dreamcast pudo haber sido la mejor consola de haber durado más.
Sure the piroutte may look a little fancy, but it can really flummox the defense bob
This wasn't the last NBA2k on the. Dreamcast was it? I know NFL2k went all the way to 2k5. I think even college hoops went till 2k3 on the DC
