NFL 2K1, 2K2, 2K3, 2K4 & NFL 2K5! 2K Football was once thought as the best simulation football video game series, with games like NFL 2K5 which set a new standard, and is considered the best football video game of all time

Im assuming you’re meaning NCAA Football 14, and i would strongly disagree with that. Yes there are hours and hours of fun to be had in Dynasty and Road to Glory, but the gameplay is nowhere near 2k5. Ball trajectory is way too flat, and linebackers can pick off passes intended 20 yards down field. The Hard Cuts mechanic is fun but too over the top.Also Mascot mode is fun as well, but its still not 2k5
That is very debatable. Definitely these are top two. 2k5 with the best gameplay, while M5 with the best franchise mode
I can’t believe how good 2k4 and 2k5 looked, the way the players moved was so smooth and looked better than current madden.
I really hope they get all the details down in the next 2k game.

NFL has a deal with EA when it comes to making football simulation games. that's why all we get now Is Madden and why Madden doesn't try anymore. They have a monopoly on it

Yo, 2K5 was WILDLY ahead of it’s time. That game is fantastic still today. Love those physics and animations
2k4 as well, played a whole game with 78 overall Rookie Carson Palmer and he had 360 yards with 6 tds and no ints. Everything other than body shape of the players, collision detection, and graphics are still light years ahead of Madden.... in a 20 year old game.

It's always funny when new people experience the 2k football series for the first time. 2k Games from 20 years ago are better than modern day madden.
Nfl 2k5 was so good madden went after the exclusive NFL license
And sadly 20 years later they still have a monopoly on the NFL License smh.
I remember playing ESPN NFL 2K5 on my original Xbox and I played with my home team. What I did was I intentionally ran the wrong way to see if there's any reaction. It did. The fans were booing loud and the commentary guy was saying these things.

It was funny to do that. ESPN NFL 2K5 to this day is still one of the greatest football video games of all time.

Playing on the original Xbox would give u the best performance for 2k4 and 2k5 . The latter games I mentioned had unlockable characters from past sega games and celebrities like David arquette Steve o sega characters like wolf and Jeffery from virtual fighter and axel stone from streets of rage .

It really started coming together with 2k3, and then 2k4 and 2k5 were amazing.
I remember being blown away by the graphics when the first game came out. Sure it's hard to see that now but if you were there at that time it looked phenomenal

When 2k was initially released... it was a game changer! Literally changed from playing Madden to 2k!
Also....in 2k5 it would save your gaming style and you can literally play a CPU with your tendencies...Also, Steve-O and a few others

Look at words you are using while playing these games. You’re enjoying yourself. Your immersed. You’re impressed. Satisfied, quality … I may be wrong but even when doing videos on madden you don’t have this tone or blissful emotion…. That is everything a gamer wants and EA and madden just do not/can not offer it and we have been married to them for 18 years

Espn nfl2k5 is amazing, especially for being made in 2004. I cant even fathom what kind of a game they would be releasing these days if they never got bought out
They need to bring back NFL2K series it's better than Madden
I was always a 2k fan. I use to hate Madden in comparison. I was mad as hell when I had to switch. The way 2k moved compared to Madden was night and day.
The presentation is was really set 2k apart on all their games. Especially with the ESPN presentation... EA has FOX at the time which I love too.
I always likes EA's game play and feel better. I believe games went above and beyond for presentation and game features back then because you were limited on gameplay itself.
I'll stand by this I don't believe that Madden or any sports game should be year to year anymore. The games are too big to make in one year. That's why their are so many bugs in the game.

The 2K5 (Mod) is amazing with the updated roster. Madden has alway's been 2nd place to 2K. Even compared to today's Madden game and that say's a lot about Madden.

The mobility and the smoothness of these 2K players are still unmatched even with the earlier 2K games.
I’m old enough to remember that you had to hold down the A button and let the arrow fill up underneath the ball carrier to execute more powerful moves.. “filling it up all the way and using the bacc trigger buttons would give you a unstoppable shifting side to side!! #TryItOnTheFirstTwo2k’s!

NFL GameDay on PlayStation 1 was the #1 NFL game for awhile and In terms of gameplay it was the predecessor to all the NFL, NCAA football games we've seen even to the modern day.

nfl 2k came out in 1999 and man.... Randy Moss and the '98 vikings. The best NFL team to never go to the superbowl.
2k4 looked amazing
2k need to make NFL games, EA just copy and paste the same game each year.
2k2 on the dreamcast was awesome too. it was also fun using the VMU on the controller to call plays when playing vs friends.

2K was a huge generational leap, but 2K1 fixed the running game. I thought the Dreamcast versions had the best UI.
Also 2K was a launch title, so it came out in 1999.

The Running and Return game was at his best in 2k4
We went backwards micro transactions ruined the quality of games.
2k5 ran at a slower frame rate than the other games and that’s the one thing that always bugged me about it, just wasn’t as smooth
Yesss. I love 2k5 but that’s always bothered me too. When you throw the ball and the players go to catch it or swat it, it’s like the game enters slow motion mode. Def not as smooth as 2k4

I think this is correct cause I remember them being in Madden 2002 but they weren't an official team just yet, I think the roster was random.

These games offer better controls and simulation than the trash you find today. Yes, today's games look nicer, but the physics and game play are just plain lazy. The customization on the older games were waaaay better than anything you have today. The between the games stuff was fun.

I wonder of the new NFL 2K next year is going to have Ultimate Team and Franchise mode in it. I have played a few of NFL 2k way back. I hope that next year's NFL 2k will be better and soon.
You should play the xbox version of 2k5, it's almost night and day! Also try playing the Dreamcast versions with a VMU!

Is it just me or does 2k3 low key have better animations than 2k4 and 2k5? I know it may be more arcade like but just feels more fun. 2k3 had a better running animation than 2k4-2k5.
