Congratulations to Joseph! I'm not sure why you gave my car to him, but good for him and his family.
Nice updates on the Kitfox & the 401. Things are coming along nicely. Still looking for Joe's new 😁. ☮
Awesome - congrats to the winner! Sounds like it's going to get loved!!!
Absolutely! It was such an exciting moment!
Yay a 401 video, happy too see her coming back together, little additions to get her back to life.
So awesome seeing all the hard work come together. Thank you for stopping by and supporting!
Only discovered this channel a couple of weeks ago, so glad I found it!! Love the 401 series cant wait to see it fly!
Welcome to the Rescue Crew! So glad you are enjoying the channel❤️👍🏻
It’s been a wild ride of yay and nooooo :D .
Congratulations to the Winner, sounds like its going to a good family that will treasure it for years to come 👍
A 401 video in the middle of the week?! Just what i needed to get through the week!
Thank you for sharing this journey with us Jason! I can't wait to see this bird back in the air!
Congratulations to Joseph! Exactly who you would hope the car would go to. Thanks for what you do guys!
Great to see you guys back on the 401! Wow, what a project! Congrats to the Austin winner! 😊
Followed every episode and the amount of work is just CRAZY!! It's easy to see why most of these just sit or get scrapped.. Love that u are saving this gem...
A lot of work but so worth it! And with you guys supporting us we always feel up to the challenge!
@rebuildrescue brother ignore all the negative nancies, while its true a lots of us come here to see the 401, i still like to come and see you other stuff every now and then and I know what its like to take on too many projects some can fall through the cracks, we appreciate your effort!
this has been a TON of work. Is been fun to watch the rehab. It will close to a new airplane when its done.
Absolutely nothing like a midweek update!! Thanks RR team, you all are awesome.
Hey Joe, you are way under appreciated. Keep up the good work.
Congrats to the winner! Been watching every video for the last couple years myself. Shameless self-promotion to catch a ride in the fox lol! Its a shame you guys aren't closer, I'd love to pitch in and volunteer to help.
Great job boys! Owned a 69' 421A for 45 years and after not using for the last 20 years. Had to trade kids for airplanes, not a good trade. Now the kids are grown, back to my Eagle. Have spend the last 4 years doing what your doing. Biggest job I've taken on. Everything cost twice what I est. and takes me 3x the time I had guessed. Next plane I want will be a rental. Stay with it, your on the downwind. Got to love it!
Awesome, thank you for sharing Brother!
I really wanted the Austin but it sounds like it went to a better guy. I'm excited for him and congrats!
I never get tired of these videos and I always love seeing Sam and some of the flying airplanes and smaller projects along with the 401.
Reeaally enjoyable episode 😃 Great work guys. Love seeing progress on all the aircraft you guys have. The 401❤ will be a dream to fly and enjoy. I know taking one apart is easier however when it comes together like your doing it, this will be a seriously nice aircraft! New aircraft dont get this type of attention. It will be huge when engines, interior, paint are complete. You will forever enjoy this aircraft! **Great work**!
Love from Australia!
I've been watching the whole of the 401 series from the start and I can't believe how far it has come. The work and dedication you guys have put into this project is astronomical, and how you share it with the world is fun and entertaining. I can't wait to see the 401 fly again
Dear Jason,
You made me happy be seeing you and Joe working together again on the Cessna 401. It looks like the complete steering system of this wonderful plane is working perfectly so you can strike some out of the to do list of the refit of this plane. I’m also happy to learn Joseph’s reaction when he was the lucky winner of the Austin Healy Sprite. I wish him and his family a lot of joy with this classical car what party became so beautiful thanks to Yuriy V Livarchuk. I guess you know him rather well😀.
I look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Yay, I love following the long-running saga of the free abandoned aeroplane! Hope it gets back in then sky soon.
Well Done Jason and Company... That Joe is quite a valuable asset! Looking forward to the next episode ';-) Mike~
Good morning and firstly, Congratulations to Joseph on winning the Austin! 🚗🎉 I wish him wonderful and safe rides! 🌌✨ I'm happy to see the 401 being one step closer to fly again, seeing the crew in front of the camera, and taking safety measures! Keep up the Great work guys, and have an Amazing rest of the week! See ya on saturday. ❤🔥🫶
Good job guys, the rudder works like a Swiss watch !!!!👍👍👏👏💪💪
Hey Jason and crew. I am unbelievably thrilled for Joseph, the Austin found the perfect home. Thank you for the midweek joy.
Another big step towards the 401 being airworthy again! Congrats to the Austin winner, he sounded truly thrilled.
Can't wait until the 401 is completely restored! Great job, guys .
Oh good. I needed a break from work anyway. Humpday video for the win!
Congrats to the winner of the Austin!! Keep up the good work on that 401!!
The 401 is slowly getting there. I can't imagine what it's like in real life puting all those cables in place . Perty cool. Keep the videos rolling.
Congrats to the winner!! I'm sure he'll love the Austin.
True be told i wouldnt want them to have rip things apart to adjust and fix something internally.. i agree with the mechanic. Get her done right the first time.
Lots of fun in this episode and thanks for breaking down step by step on the rudder controls set-up.
Right rudder pedal, rudder moves right. ;) Sounds like the Austin went to the right guy, congrats to him!!!
RR crew - thanks for dropping this today. My team had a tough week on site but we worked through many issues over 3 straight 13 hour days. When we hit roadblocks I channel the RR energy and attitude to punch through. The 401 is coming together bit by bolt. Keep at it!
This video is gonna get a 100k views from me alone, showing everyone. So excited
Congratulations on the winner Joseph hope to see you at Oshkosh next year😊
I thought I was going to have to wait until Saturday to see an update on the FREE airplane!! That rudder looks good. So glad to see the progress!
I imagine that the cables through the length of the fuselage connecting to the rudder must be extremely important. A frayed cable could stick on a pulley wheel preventing operation of the rudder - or the cable could even break! The pulley wheels must be equally important for the same reason. But even so - you could probably still live! You can fly and land the aircraft without a rudder...
We;; done, guys, it's coming together well. And I love your attitude to quality - no short cuts! Impressive and highly professional.
Great job again guys, and good luck to Joseph with winning and driving the Austin. Looking forward to the video he’s coming to pick it up. 👍
Thank you for your positivity, glad you enjoyed the episode!!!
Congratulations Joeph!
so happy for Joseph! seems like the Austin went to the perfect winner! 😊
Thanks for the 401 video guys!!!
That's one happy winner of the Austin, for sure.
The 401 is so beautiful with the fresh primer gray. Great job guys
Love the tip about powdering your tire tubes. As someone who is working towards owning an airplane, stuff like this is useful to know and keep in mind.
Great job. Just a correction: if you move the right pedal both the nose wheel and the rudder should move to the right
Great episode! One step closer!
Great video Jason and Joe! Congratulations to the winner of the Austin, Joseph! I'm jealous! Another critical step forward for the 401, very exciting!
Mid Week 401 Awesomeness!
Love the series, binge watching it over the past few weeks!
Just one request, can we just have 401 related content on the 401 videos. If I want to see other stuff I'll watch those videos. I skip through the rest and it turns a 40 minute video into a 10 minute video
That's really interesting to see how the rudder and steering weeks with all the cables and pulleys. Great job. Project 401 Phoenix will fly again 🦅
Congrats Jason on winning of the Austin!! Enjoy it
been watching since episode 1, nearly 2 years ago. what a journey
Love it at @14:08 wjere the Austin winner was announced. As much as I would have loved to have won it, it sounds like it will have a great new home.
Been watching this channel from the very begining, love the content, can't wait to see the 401 get airborne again, greetings from the UK.
Congrats to Joseph on winning the Austin Healy!🎉
I have no background in aviation, just a curiosity and interest. I started with the first episode and got to where you taxied for the first time with both engines and thought “oh, they’ll be flying this in no time”. Then you proceed to basically disassemble the entire aircraft 😂. I have so much respect for the level of attention and precision it takes to make an aircraft air worthy, but honestly had no idea until I watched this series. I am fully invested and can’t wait to see the day when this thing is completed. Kudos to you and everyone involved in the hard work you have put into this. Sincerely, a new follower. 🤘
The Vapor Honing machine never ceases to frackin amaze me!!!
Jason, At 43:30, you are talking about the rudder control meganism and calling it a "push-pull" system. Sorry, but that is completely wrong.
This is a "pull-pull" system. On each side of the bellcrank is a cable that pulls on the bellcrank. Pushing with a cable is very difficult.
A "push-pull" system uses a rod that pushes or pulls on a lever that controls the rudder or elevator or ailerons.
I landed a Skyhawk on a flat left side main as a student pilot. CFI shouts "what are you doing?" I said, trying not to ground loop. Kept the left side up as long as possible with the ailerons, keeping it straight with the rudder. Managed to not bend anything. He said that was a pilot control event.
I don't envy you guys these cables seem like a nightmare of a job
Congrats on winning the Austin Joseph! May I suggest you license it with a tag that says Rebuild Rescue. REBRES. Or something similar. That would be a nice touch.
Congrats to Joseph, somebody had to win it, not sure why I thought I even had a chance at it because I never win anything but hey Joseph good luck with it. Glad to see we are back on the 401 again, good show.
Second prize, two Austin Healys? Good luck with this neat vehicle.
Congrats to the Austin winner - but I'm jealous!! 😂😂
Hi Jason!! Right rudder pedal should deflect the rudder to the right. The air coming down the fuselage strikes the rudder and pushes the tail to the left. That points the nose to the right in the direction of the pressed right pedal.
Congrats to the winner! Your guys are great - keep up the good work!
hey it is not saturday morning but i take it if it for the 401 thanks jason
Great job guys!!
Thank you for watching and supporting👍🏻❤️
I can't wait until the 401 is ready
We get more and more excited by the day!!
Just binged the whole journey from episode 1. Found this through shorts and gotta say glad I am glad I did. I am not into planes, but you guys and seeing the insane way the 401 was designed in the 60's. Keep it up you got a new fan.
Congratulations Joseph on winning my Austin! Lol
So excited at the progress made on the Phoenix! Another mid-week episode in the books. Can't wait for my Saturday morning RR Crew and coffee!
BeardedAv8r
All those cables in that plane scares me... I owned a tent trailor. Many issues with cables and pulleys.
A huge task being accomplished so far……Amazing……Incredible………respect 👍👍👍🇫🇷
A good bed liner would probably work nicely on the rudder pedals. Easy to clean and capable of taking a lot of repetitive abuse.
Can’t wait for the next update I just wish I could be there and learn and help keep up the good work
Beautiful to see the rudder working and the nosewheel steering! I know that was a lot of work!
I can't wait for you guys to dig into that 78 Trans Am my all time favorite car,Jason you had said that was your first car as a teenager 😊
Honestly im here for Sam. If you see this know that you make my day every time (except the one you got hurt which was scary). All good your and your family's way.
You all need to switch to Liquid Wrench Penetrating Oil. It outperformed Kroil and Blaster brands. Give it a try.
WOW you guys need to look into the desert southwest for projects, no corrosion just sun baked.
So cool. Always love the content. And on a Wednesday!
Thank you so much! Your support is always so appreciated 👍🏻❤️
HEY! Good morning and thumbs UP!!
Thank you Richard, have a great Wednesday!
Morning chap
This is so mesmerizing knowing i have been there numerous times with other aircraft in the past. such an accomplishment to complete. Nice one Jason and the team Crack on
the springs also allow the nose wheel to track straight on a crosswind TO/LDG when you have a foot to the floor
Nice touch with the math equations @45:30.. that was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good to see you again
Theres a really large gap between the convertible top and the windscreen if you take that out in the rain your gonna get wet better make sure it's in a garage
Thanks for the surprise video.
Great episode lots going on. Congratulations to Joseph. Merry Christmas Joseph. ❤ Another cable hookup on the 401, nice! Merry Christmas!
Nice work.
Wow, you know sometimes it almost looks like you are trying to organize a bowl of spaghetti. It was great to see your gift of the Austin being given away. You are very special.
Been watching this saga for over a year. “Free airplane” my butt. You guys are dedicated for sure!
Makes it clear why modern airliners use communication cables and local actuators, even though redundancy is required to do fly by wire.
Congratulations Joseph!
I don’t care that announced the winner of the Austin. I still want it.
Congratulations to the winner.
Nice episode. Here's my take on what the springs are for. I understand that the springs are a Cessna-created patented. When the right rudder pedal is pressed, nose wheel steers right, and rudder's trailing edge moves right. They make landing in a crosswind more forgiving when you put the plane into a slip. For example, in a left-to-right crosswind, you would dip you left wing and add right rudder to keep the plane from turning left into the bank. But that steers the nosewheel to the right which would cause a sudden turn the right once the nosewheel touches down. The springs allow the nosewheel some "give" so that it can align itself to the direction that the plane is rolling down the runway (hopefully straight down the runway) at the moment the nosewheel contacts the pavement.
Yeah! Bonus Rebuild Rescue day! Dude is going to have fun with the Austin. Congrats! Joe just needed a bigger hammer. 😂😅😂
I admit the fact of these videos that parts that are sitting for long periods, especially on airplanes need careful expectation and lubrication to operate properly... And that a bad or well-used parts that should be best replaced... Like Joe's working on the Kit Fox engine pull down, that even goes to show when that a big hammer is not working as expected it is some 'Good Thinking] that shines on why the hammer is not working as expected. Also, like what you showed in the video on working on all the 401 cables that are neeededd to operate the steering and rudder... One big job to make it all work...
Great to give to a cool guy. Joe your next ! Sammy - Great work helping. Tell your wife to stop calling Joe ! God bless 401 ~ Merry Holidays fellas !
I want the Austin
