There is also significantly less chance of you damaging the bike frame while wrecking too. Hard bags need hard mounts, bolted on a subframe which can be easily tweaked out of alignment.
After considering luggage for my 1250GS for mainly tarmac riding in the UK I still finished up choosing the R80 Reckless based on mainly the width. We do a lot of filtering through traffic here and I’ve played with the R80 mounting and got it real tight to the bike now, just about to throw a Gnoblin on it and a couple of Voile straps which will make it even easier to deal with. Thanks for the great gear and also not to underestimate the awesome service I’ve always had from the Mosko team in EU where the UK kit comes from. Anybody in the UK should not worry about getting kit in from Nederlands, it’s easy and the team supporting that are awesome 🤙
Last time i asked if the reckless 80 would fit my honda x-adv. It will fit but i forgot that my saddle wouldnt open. Which also has some storage. For me the other option would be the mosko panniers. Going mosko all the way with the desert colors. It looks fantastic
Another huge benefit of soft luggage is the way lesser injury risk when getting pinned between the bike and for example a rock. Last time out on a 10 day rally trip with my KTM 950 and hard luggage i rode through some washed out ruts and due to the low speed i had my feet down (first big mistake). When i hit a hole my right leg got pinned between the hard luggage and the ground and it nearly broke (im not kidding, 5 kph more and my journey would have been over at the spot). Hurt like hell. Soft luggage would have done nothing. Next Rally-Trip is going to be with the reckless 80.

That's also a really good point!

The Reckless 80l is a great companion, especially when you are able to filter through traffic since it keeps everything nice and tight to the bike!

That's a story that we hear way too often! Stoked to hear you were okay and were able to finish your rally.
