Well, Nurburgring is really high speed track with lots of full throttle corners or even straights. That is why lotus cannot compete with today sportscars which has so much power. But on a small track, Lotus would probably win :)
But Cobalt SS isn't a AWD. Lotus would be faster in corners I didn't say anything about short track. Nowadays the advantage(low weight) of Lotus is just inferior to the bilion horse power supercars with sophisticated AWD systems. Before my Opel Speedster was modified(it is elise with different bodywork), it was almost slower than VW Sharan(on highway) :D But on a racetrack, completely different story. If the race track was a high speed race track like Nurburgring, It would be much closer.
funny, motor trend did the nurburgring in a cobalt in 10/2007 in 8:22.85. Correct me if im wrong, but i believe that is faster than the 8:25 the lotus did it in. In fact the fastest lotus around the monster of all time was the Lotus Esprit Sport 350 at 8:13. Also if you look at the official list of times, the exige s is trumped by the z3, several evo's, an sti, and even a golf R. in my book, pathetic.

not really, an awd drive car with more power will beat it around any track period. its like saying a 9 sec pro stock car can beat a top fuel car in a drag race if its on a shorter track...catch the general idea of things

If the Porsche Driver have had some skills or Ambition you would have had not a Minimum of a Chance. Your line is good, but you Need tho shift more a exige should be handable with one Hand in curve.

I have no idea where you get your "data" from, but Top Gear's Stig took a stock Exige S around their track faster than a Gallardo.
Sorry, you are correct - the S version does indeed have a supercharger :)

cobalt would win unless you are talking about a go cart track where the only thing that would hurt the cobalt is turning radius...
Probably would have passed the Porsche within a lap if you didn't have a passenger and cut down on another 200 pounds.
