Talkpod A36plus, NEW firmware, 512 REAL memories, and more!

This radio has been out for a while, and I came late to the party, but it was a good thing!
Originally this radio ONLY had 256 memory positions (although it claimed 512), and everyone mentioned it, so Talkpod provided a NEW firmware revision (YES, it is upgradeable!) which now gives you 512 memory slots!
However, there are stil some shortcomings with this radio ..... details in the video!

11/02/23 UPDATE !! Talkpod promised me a fix for the issue I mentioned about not being able to access channels over 256 ......
WELL, THE FIX HAS ARRIVED! GO TO TALKPOD'S SITE, AND GO TO FIRMWARE AND SOFTWARE, DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION. IT SHOWS 1.23 BUT IT WILL ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD 1.24 WHICH ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE THAT I TOLD TALKPOD ABOUT!

I have tried to use the talkpod bootloader to update the firmware in my A36 but it keeps failing any suggestions?

Talkpod is aware that the print in their manual is too small -- my radio came with a small (credit card style) magnifying glass!

Are there better antennas that you can recommend?

There are way too many good antennas out there and many people will have different opinions on models! I use NA771 by Nagoya, and they are pretty good. Signal sticks are also very good antennas. I have been quite happy with the stock antenna on this radio and I get pretty good reception with them. I guess they are better tuned than others.
