Meet Bear 854 Divot - Bears of Brooks Falls

- Compared to their grizzly cousins in the interior of North America, female brown bears in Katmai have small home ranges. When salmon are plentiful, they need not travel great distances to find food. But that doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t.
Divot is a medium-sized adult female with light brown fur and a long straight muzzle. In early summer she has a prominent shed patch on her forehead. Her most distinguishing physical characteristic, no matter the time of year, is a thin scar that completely encircles her neck.

I adore Divot and am so thankful you helped her get out of that snare to save her life. She is really a beautiful girl lady. It breaks my heart to think people still have these nasty wire snares and fencing around. The world must have been a beautiful realm before boundaries were created.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and so many others like you who care enough to make things a little better for our natural world.
Oh gosh RIP Divot’s cub 😢 I hope you are in a place running wild & free & catching lots of salmon.
Thank You
This is such a nice series. It brings these bears up close and personal. Thanks.

Thank everyone that worked so hard to save her, I love her! (I love all the bears but she is so special)
All I can say is thank you very much to all the good people who do care about the Bears 🐻

I like to find that animal who set up that snare and wrap it around their neck until they have a permeant scar! So it can serve as a permanent reminder that we humans trespassed on the animals land NOT the other way around.
@Jazelle Thank you for your nice comment.
Thank you for saving her life❤
