bakerXderek It is actually quite possible for that to happen. That's why spoilers are not always good on cars. You need to balance the car weight very well, and you need to know physics good if you plan to put it on a race car. Some cars like Bugatti Veyron have automatically adjusted spoilers, which changes it's position depending on the car speed (sorry if my english is bad... not my main language)

Ouch! I am so grateful that nobody was hurt. Things like this remind me of why it's OK to also enjoy vehicles that are extremely limited, like go karts and low-cost street-legals. Once we get into the higher speed ranges, aerodynamic forces become dominant. In that domain, the faster we go, the more that our very great cars turn into very bad airplanes.

But if you notice his car comes up too far and catches air. Throw the wheelie bar on and it doesn't go as high to catch all that air. Downforce on the front would certainly help, but better safe than sorry.

Wheelie bars are for the starting line, not at 1/8 mile clocks where a car like that is going 200MPH. They would have just folded up.
Whoever designed that rear wing needs a job at NASA its essentially creating so much down force on the rear that it's lifted the front just enough for air to get under it and get it airborne.. and there was a mild cross wind to as the car goes vertical you see it suddenly shoot sideways so all them of them things happen at once you get a freak accident.. hope the guys ok 🙏

Looks like too much downforce from the wing slightly behind the rear wheel centerline - nose starts moving up, more air gets under air dam, and you get LIFT. I bet it wouldn't have lifted if the wing wasn't there.

The car was always flying. That's what F in IS F stands for. Lexus is flying. It's just that this car started thinking about it at the wrong moment and we all know the first basic rule to flying is not to think about it and just try not fall.

I think it should've been known that that much horsepower would be extremely dangerous unless the car is all wheel drive and it has a weight piece under it to keep the car centered
