This is completely unnecessary since the original movie is already CG. If they were going to do a live action version of it then why not actually follow the book!? It’s an entirely different story this actually looks like it shot for shot. 🙄again! The book is so much more fun and interesting and slightly darker. If they were going to do live action they totally should’ve went that route because who’s going to wanna watch this we already love the cartoon. Half the Vikings are gonna be brown now. And for the record Astrid isn’t even in the book. The character is Kamikaze she’s from a different tribe and is not a love interest at all and is so much more fun interesting character

I don't understand why they replaced Astrid with a forced inclusion actress. After what happened with The Little Mermaid and Snow White, I thought the studios would already know that this formula doesn't work. The truth is I'd rather not watch it and stick with the memories of the animated version.

If they either “woked it up” or made it a shot-by-shot remake, then I’m really not excited. Remakes should only happen when you can give a new, interesting interpretation. How to Train Your Dragon is one of my favorite movie trilogies. I can’t think of much to change off the top of my head.

Toothless looks exactly the same and this looks like shot for shot recreation with some unneeded changes for the casting choices. This looks like it's adding nothing but pinning it's hopes on nostalgia for a far superior adaptation to the same story. I will never understand who greenlights these projects that they know will not be as successful as it's predecessor.
