The less you know the more you have to carry” It’s amazing how little gear you actually NEED to just go out and have a good weekend especially in great weather. Very curious why you prefer 80/20 wool blankets. You also mentioned 70/30 but no explanation. Having always heard 100 wool was best, I never thought about it but I'm sure there is a good reason. Comfort, drying, shrinking, weight, cost, availability, etc.? Thanks from a new sub.

Ok, very nice and good stuff! The problem is the weight of all this! The modern materials are not as sexy but they are much lighter and confortable. However, after years of innovations in new matters, we realize that Merinos wool and duck down and feather are still the most technical materials that exists… so there is the for and against! Nice video, anyway!

I love the fades and stuff with a history and long terme livings. I put a lot of money and energy in it… But for hiking, I like when it’s light! I live in the mountains and sleeps very often in the wild… But it is true that these matters have a soul…
Modern plastic stuff sucks. If you had a modern light weight version of this kit it would last you maybe a season? We as working men who want to enjoy an outer want good quality bomb proof gear that will last years. The only new age stuff I like are new stainless steel pots so you don't have to worry about them falling to bits in your fire. Oh & foam mats had mine for over 20 years was given to me by a soldier.

It may be a dump question, but 80% wool and 20% of what? I have seen all kinds of mixes, from cashmere to polyester and so on….
