Definitely have reconsidered the SEM after this (always on my radar but behind other gear). Thanks for the recording, such a rich sound in the higher octaves.
I want more, what would be a genre or some artists to search for that would have a similar flavor. I've listened to this track multiple times in a row!
I have a SEM pro and I'm looking forward a nice hardware sequencer. This is a very good demonstration of the beatstep, I'm gonna have myself one of these. I really love the sound of the SEM, sweet VCOs and the reso of the filter doesn't take the bass away of the OSCs. I dig that. Once you add reverb to it, it can get magical sound trails. Oliver how you used OSC Sync to create dirty acid sounds. I have a Waldorf Pulse 2 (with CV/Gate Out) in its way to mate the Oberheim. I've had the SEM and a Q for years, bit the SEM gets stuck any time I try to send MIDI arp or seq from the Q. Unfortunately I have no computer to rec and upload demos :( Beautiful piece of music here, man.
Excellent video! I just bought a Sem pro. Loving it. Trying to sequence it with my Intellijel Metropolis. Pitch and Gate out from it into Cv in and Gate in on the SEM. But the pattern doesn't play properly... Just 3 notes trigger rather than 8! I'd this the correct connection?
The notes are also triggered by the beat step? How can you trigger notes (with the knobs on the beatstep) o my through cv without MIDI?...doesn't work for me with my beatstep and Microbrute ...
I keep coming back to this video. The oberheim has such an emotional tone it. So beautiful.
Watching the Video because of the beatstep, now i Need a Sem!
I have the same problem xD
Buy the arturia software sem 🤗
I knew it was gonna be good as soon as I heard the arp cycle just once! Sounds iconic as heck!!!
This is it.
Today I just felt it, totally overwhelming
This is a great demo of the Beatstep, thanks for the share!
Fantastic!!
Love that. Thanks !
keep coming back to this video - absolutely awesome i've gotta get my hands on one of these one day
very well done, truly amazing!
Absolutely gorgeous
Awesome vid man. One day I'll add the SEM to my setup
Sounds incredible. Love that T.O. SEM tone!

Really liked it! Berlin school like great stuff...
Well done progression..
Mind off the skull soundz! Thanks!

sound great!
Good job!
fantastic jam!
I love only the monophonic synths and this is the first thanks for this great video
That sounds fantastic. I think I need to be messing around more with my SQ-1 sequencer and the SEM-Pro.
Really Awesome!!
That reverb is sweet.
Very Nice!!!

I was ready to plunk down 3500 on a two-voice till I started hearing all the problems. To bad because Oberheim made my favorite synth.
nice melodic sequence! Do you mind to share a notes progression? I always have trouble to set meaningful one with beatstep .
really nice!
You should put this track on SoundCloud so that we can comment on particular spots of the piece. Nice result though !
Love it!
wow, this is gorgeous
Sick man, sounds similar at points to Shpongle :)
Fine!
sh1t bro, that's awesome!
Coole Kombination !

I love the beatstep for its simplicity, but I wish it had a tempo counter on its surface. Only drawback.
The notes are also triggered by the beat step? How can you trigger notes (with the knobs on the beatstep) o my through cv without MIDI?...doesn't work for me with my beatstep and Microbrute ...
Reverb used? It's nice!
Built in FX of the Yamaha MG124CX
Without midi, how would one incorporate this into a setup with let’s a say a digitakt or what have you?
👏👏👏👏👏❤️
That Osc 2 Sync ;)
Your wine glass is empty.
Hahaha. Not for long it wasn't.
:-P
This is just cv/gate to note and trigger right? It starts to get real interesting when you step also other patchpoints on the sem ;)
Especially when you throw an SQ-1 in to the equation. :-)
midi or cv? sounds great
Beatstep is sending CV. No midi.
SIIIIIIICK
massive jam! did you use some effects or is it the pure Oberheim sound?
I have one of these, he's used delay and reverb, other than that it's just the SEM
What Javi said. Just a delay/reverb effect from the MG124CX. The effect leads in at 0:30
ah the prydz sound...
