I didn't realize so many actors from Band of Brothers were in this game. I want them to remaster it; I loved it as a kid. Learned a lot of history actually from the early CODs
This whole game was also one big advertisement for the Military Channel. Which has sadly gone the way of the History Channel and is now nothing but CIA conspiracy stuff.
Fun fact : All the weapons in-game have their iron sights misaligned. And this mission is the very first time your game character actually speaks!! : "Man, I'm gonna have to write home about this." - Stretch at the end of the mission "Liberators".
I'm imagining the command staff at home going "Bullshit, quit inflating your kill reports" while the German command is going "Excuse me, what the fuck is this about two entire squadrons disappearing in fifteen minutes?"
My favorite COD game of all time. I remember trying to play this but cannot due to the disc being scratched by the ps2 slim. All those memories of the days of staying up late playing this game. They are memories I will always treasure. And this particular mission here is very special to me. I loved it to bits as kid and even now as a college student. It is my entire reason for choosing the aircraft mechanic course in college and even the reason why I stopped for an entire year after graduating from senior high school because I was not accepted.
I think he downs it @ 9:55 and it gives you a different colored kill mark. Me and a good friend of mine took turns playing this mission back in the day and I managed to get that gold tick mark. He thought it was an ace pilot we shot down or something and from then on out we referred to that plane as "the ace"
>a half dozen of Nazi Germany's largest, most expensive, and rarest transport aircraft >traveling in contested airspace >alone >without any kind of escort >being attacked by B-24 Liberators which aren't built for interception Me thinks this scenario wasn't very well thought out.
Weren’t the Liberators supposed to bomb an oil facility or something? I didn’t pay enough attention to the chatter going on. If that’s what they originally were supposed to do, it could’ve been a coincidence that they came upon those aircraft.
The B-24 Liberators were on there way to bomb Axis positions and just happened to fly above the German planes. They weren't intercepting the German planes.
This mission was sick. I liked how the cargo planes got ripped apart depending on where you shot em. Very cool watching them barrel towards the ground in a ball of flame.
One of the most fun missions in the franchise imo. Alongside Black Cats in WaW, Black Baron in CoD 3, and Road To Berlin in WaW FF. Oh, and the tank missions in Finest Hours are also very fun, albeit infuriating due to the health bar and the fact that you can't heal in those missions.
Oh my goodness I remember all of those levels. Played it so many times. The Finest Hours Soviet tank missions were my favorite. The part where you play as Sam River in American tank mission was also my favorite, but it was frustrating.
Keep up the great content. If you are looking for a Bf2042 Milsim, let us know. We use more strategy and tactics when playing and host games with scenarios like Black Hawk Down or King of the Hill. We have been around since BF3. Good job again on the video.
for a while I thought I was gonna fail this mission, cause of all the Messerschmitts, and somehow I survived this mission, but god damn they were fast as hell, the last time I was on B24 bomber I was protecting hells bell and dangerous dan.
Might as well make player press F or □ or X to switch to a different gunner character except pilot, bomber and radioman If one gunner gets killed in the cutscenes then you can't select him anymore and had to make one of the character move manually to take control of the turrets

Yeah and mARKHAMill did the military channel v/o in this game.
That's the actor for Liebgott talking right? The pilot talking I assume?

Pretty sure he's also the one whose heard in the intro as well
Don't you play as the Tanker in the missions Tanker. He speaks a few times as well
aren't the characters in CoD Finest hours are technically the first time the playable character speak in CoD?
@@thencrranger5628 Since they never talk during actual gameplay, i guess not.
@@jamalwilburn228 You still play as Roland in Tankers. The one talking is the tank commander

Yes
The German High Command must be fuming when they see the after-action report

9:17 That German fighter is the only Focke Wulf Fw 190 encountered in the mission, with every other German fighter being Messerschmitt Bf 109s.

I would agree, why would those gigants be flying alone anyways.well who ever thought of that must be stupid 😑

Nostalgia one of my favorites from the ps2

Next thing you know, you’re shooting Horton 229’s and your destination is Deathshead’s compound 😉
Man I miss playing Wolfenstein NW
Might reinstall it again later

I always loved this mission because I was very close friends with a B-24 chin gunner he served during Operation Tidal Wave.
I remembered back then I LOVED WW2 bombing missions in COD because of how cool bomber planes were.
*Strech shooting at the cargo plane*
Well that sent me down memory lane aha !!
I hope Activision do a Remastered or Remake of their Original Call of Duty Game's
Big red one was the best call of duty hands down from Africa/Italy to late war of Germany.
I like how this feels realistic and unrealistic at the same time
Being a ball turret gunner so dangerous...
Death sentence during emergency bail or crash landings.
@@someguy7629 On the B-24 you could still come out. It's the B-17 ball turret that's dangerous. Also the tail gunner had higher death counts
I wish Call of Duty is back to classic again.
Waiting for COD Vanguard to Release sir AF, Gonna support that series 🎉
:D
That didn't age well
I use sit and play in midnight so much of
memory ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Big red one is amazing😍
2:39 “It’s jammed! Hold on!”
What the hell does he think the ball turret gunner is gonna do, go for a stroll?!

Favorite mission of all time right here
I remember this so well 😀
This was my favourite mission, along with the one with the Stuart tanks
Favorite
At least you tried.
Nice job taking out those Nazi planes.
A colorized recording from a WW2 gopro chest rig? Stretch is a true American hero. Gobbles all those brave men and men.
All these financial cuts are playing havoc with Liberator aircrew, with one man navigating, bombing and gunner for all positions.
Amazing
B-24 LIBERATORS VS. MESSERSCHMITT GLIDERS
I love gunner missions
Does anyone know of B-24Js having been used in North Africa in 1942? Can’t seem to find any historical archives on it.
Whooooo just Iike vanguard but your a bomber instead of a multirole fighter
You misspelled “Vanguard has a mission like this but you’re in a multirole fighter instead of a bomber”.
@@Gamer88334 ok sorry but thanks I'm not good at talking
My first Call of Duty game.
My childhood, my memories
Best Mission!!
This mission is different between mission English Canal in COD United Offensive.
what is with the lack of gunners on this b24
right?? feels like only the player's defending
It's so the player can use different positions without wasting the time in having to kill off every gunner
