@gregjcase I totaly agree. I've watched the whole concert on the tube and he's really great. But the entire (original) band was exceptionaly talented if i may say so. Santana late 60's- early 70's was a killer outfit. ROCK ON!!!!!
Greg Rolie was one of the founding members. The best Santana records are with the original Santana band. It was a collective group and only had the name Santana since he was the only union member.
Every member was the best ,Brown at bass,Chepito Areas the best,The kid at the drums Da best,The organ and piano player ,what can you say?another best,The conga timbalero with the huge afro wow fukng bestand Carlos Santana the best guitar of all times,still going.If it ain`t broke do not touch it.
Amazing what you can do with just two chords; the "secret Carlos Santana chord progression" as Frank Zappa ironically called it....They keep coming back: Treat, Evil Ways Oye Como Va....
@dann3th3manni3 well said Dude. I get fed up with hearing Santana just uses one progression. Maybe much of their stuff is drawn from a small pool, but it's what they do with it. Their soul and imagination is amazing.
For me that I'm a Santanian from 50 years one of the best Santana's songs , here in a " saborous" and fantastic version....❤

yes sir the one and only CHEPITO AREAS that guy could kick ass on timbales but the whole percusion section at this time was great THE WHOLE BAND WAS
