Honestly an honor to be able to hear some of the background of this album. The context of how much the making of it (and the years prior) meant to them makes it so much more special
Respect to you guys to be comfortable enough to share such personal stories. You are all loved more than you will ever know, and I’m thankful you three are still alive ❤️
"if your going thru something that's about you and its spilling over, you need help" Damn if that didn't fuckin resonate. Thanks for sharing Pat and Josean
As someone who has lost his home to war, greed and corruption, all I can say is I am so grateful for the lyrics to Oh What the Future Holds and The Nothing That Is. Thank you thank you thank you. These albums made me weep after so fucking long: first you lose everything to war and occupation and then the world gaslights you into denying the reality of it. Im not Palestinian btw: India has occupied Kashmir for almost 8 decades too. Like really please see FFAA live, buy their music please. You lose your family, clothes, language, everything it’s miserable. EDUCATE YOURSELF on what your governments do with your money. Metal, punk and heavy music are intertwined with anti-war and civil disobedience. It’s not just entertainment. Don’t ever think yourself as just an entertainer if you play metal: we have a purpose and a duty to keep music and expression alive in its rawest and most primal aggressive form. FFAA is real shit and RULES! Thank you so much for having these guys on.
I bought seats for the Cleveland date. Sylosis is my favorite band, Josh is my all-time favorite guitarist. I couldn't be more excited. Even dragging my non-metal girlfriend to the show so she can witness the greatness.
Having just seen Fit live last week, can verify, they sounded fucking incredible (as always). The mix was impeccable. Performances all 10's across the board. Also, just went and read the lyrics to Red Horizon. If you're a human being with any empathy at all it should bring you to tears. Free Fucking Palestine.
Awesome episode to have two such open and humble dudes chatting, I feel like that room must be so sick to hang out in sometimes with the sort of guys walking through the background of this pod!
Saw these guys open the tour at the palladium and I’m driving to CT for the last date too. Can’t get enough of the new album and I’m hyped to watch this. Thanks Craig ♥️
Please get Rolo Tomassi on dude I'm dying for it. My favorite band, I'm sure you know some of them.. I'm going to comment this on every video until it happens. Much love my man, this was a great episode
I love the talk about HC and DM. My HC band looks like its ending and im thinking about starting a DM band so loved talking about the links in the early scenes.
I remember one of the first metal concerts I ever went to was FFAA in munich, in a tiny club. Pat was the nicest dude ever, took a picture with me being a 13 years old prick even tho they were all stressed because it was hot as hell in there.
Bro if you guys have not seen Mandy with Nic Cage you are doing yourself a disservice! It’s actually metal af. Everyone in this comment section would love it.
I'm glad that they recognise clicks and timecoding take some of the soul out of the performance. Bands, especially those that rely on backing tracks for synths heavily like Northlane, always feel a little rushed. The performances are incredible as a result, but there's a bit less life to it.
Hey mate I use doubles and open close on speeds above 220 am I a cheater you know doubles on the snare Trey Williams is a partial cheater as he switches...
"There is a lot of things I dont, a lot of black metal I dont listen to because some of the lyrical content hurts my feelings, and its okay. I mean its not okay that it exists, I dont like it. But its okay for me not to like it." Kinda funny that you were talking about it being okay not liking bands because they have a different message than you want to hear but also say that you think some songs shouldnt exist because they hurt your feelings. Not that I dont like the messaging in your songs, but it sounded hypocritical the way you worded that part.
I read the lyrics Pat. From the river to the sea….. That’s about as bad as any of the black metal records you were talking about earlier. Please don’t just take my word or his. Look into what that means. It’s not just some college campus chant… Album still rocks and o hope I can speak with Pat about it. Thanks for the pod
Happy Will Putney day to those who celebrate
Everyone does, thanks!
Honestly an honor to be able to hear some of the background of this album. The context of how much the making of it (and the years prior) meant to them makes it so much more special
MOM!!! DOWNBEAT HAS PAT BACK ON THE PODCAST!!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Respect to you guys to be comfortable enough to share such personal stories. You are all loved more than you will ever know, and I’m thankful you three are still alive ❤️
This episode hits hard man, especially at the end. I'm going through the same thing as Josean. Much respect to you brother, I hope I end up the same.

The first Pat episode has always been one of my favourites so this was great to see pop up
Makes me warm and fuzzy seeing music bros show their love for each other and support through the tough times.
"if your going thru something that's about you and its spilling over, you need help" Damn if that didn't fuckin resonate. Thanks for sharing Pat and Josean
Spoils of The Horde has been my favorite so far. it’s a fucking awesome album and keeps growing on me.
As someone who has lost his home to war, greed and corruption, all I can say is I am so grateful for the lyrics to Oh What the Future Holds and The Nothing That Is.

Pat was doing their merch at a small venue in Paris back in 2021 or 22, I bought a long sleeve and I've been rocking it since then. He's a cool dude.
I love listening to Pat and Josean talk. This was a great episode
I do not know how you can not like these guys.
I bought seats for the Cleveland date. Sylosis is my favorite band, Josh is my all-time favorite guitarist. I couldn't be more excited. Even dragging my non-metal girlfriend to the show so she can witness the greatness.
See you there
So much respect to these guys. Josean thank you for showing your heart. Beautiful human and amazing drummer.

Another quality chat well worth my contribution at the downbeat patreon
I remember seeing Josean plying the local Puerto Rico scene bands! Always the fastest, always the hardest! Miss Deathwish Bronson! 🤣
amazing episode, one of my favorites
A great podcast episode as always!
love this
Love Josean, great drummer and just seeing the cool brotherly attitude here is inspiring. Brotherly love isn't always easy or fun...
I remember The Black Dahlia Murder said people would call them "The Short Hairs" during the early days of touring.
Queen of cumbia 😂😂😂 in an interview about fit for an autopsy. Amazing crossover ❤
I love the talk about HC and DM. My HC band looks like its ending and im thinking about starting a DM band so loved talking about the links in the early scenes.

Josean. You’re one of my favorite drummers, I hope you see this ❤
Earth Crisis....Never forget that band, they're the reason most of all these bands exist.
If you do another live downbeat show tour please come to Seattle or Vancouver I’ll buy tickets in a heartbeat
6:27 I’m crying😂
Beneath the Massacre still in the rotation 😤. The Surface is my 0 to 100 wake the fuck up song.
I remember one of the first metal concerts I ever went to was FFAA in munich, in a tiny club. Pat was the nicest dude ever, took a picture with me being a 13 years old prick even tho they were all stressed because it was hot as hell in there.

Red Horizon is about Gaza 😵

It also made me think about Ukraine
Big laughs on this one
30:47 Both Pat and Craig are right 😂
Fuck thath 59:00 Pat speech made my cry 😭
Which Matt did drums on OWTFH? I didn’t know Josean didn’t play on that album.
@@JearBear1138 it was matt guglielmo!
Matt Guglielmo, he plays in The Acacia Strain and END. Absolute unit of a drummer!
Edit: sorry, I didn't see someone had answered already 😅
I'm glad that they recognise clicks and timecoding take some of the soul out of the performance. Bands, especially those that rely on backing tracks for synths heavily like Northlane, always feel a little rushed. The performances are incredible as a result, but there's a bit less life to it.

Dave Grohl is still a good person… he made a mistake, but he and You are still a good person
I read the lyrics Pat.
