I use Brave News to read news in some 5 or 6 languages daily. It is just a feed with news sites chosen by me (took a few days to find over 30 free or mostly free preferably nice looking sites in many languages). I read the news (just translating a few unknown words with a pop dictionary) in the languages I know the best. For German, on the other hand, I paste the news (about 8 lines at a time) and have it turn it into a bilingual interlinear text and provide 5 example sentences with one of the verbs used. I can read literature in Portuguese, English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Catalan (hopefully Romanian mid 2Unfortunately, I don't have time to both read the news and read literature.
Thank you for the video. Reading does really help to learn the language. Something I noticed about reading is that only when I started reading aloud then I saw progress. But I did not make a list of words and use flashcards so maybe that would help to progress faster😅 anyway great video 🎉
I didn't know that there were websites that provide beginner texts in a target language. I'm currently at a beginner level in French, do you have a suggestion for a website to help with that?
Absolutely bro! Here's two... 1. onlinefrenchclub.com/ 2. www.fabulang.com/en/fr/a1 Would highly recommend you make a folder in Google or whatever and save them in that so you can easily find them. I understand "Beginner" can mean a variety of things - don't worry if they are a bit hard, just follow the advice in the video. Definitely consider jumping in our discord too bro.
Nice work, you make good points. I’m with you, I’m working on my German and I’m in the ‘it’s a bit too soon for Harry Potter’ camp. I’ve got it though, ready and waiting, and I am watching the films with German language and German subtitles. Because I know the plot I don’t have to worry what is happening, I just focus on the words I can understand, next I’ll try and get through with no subtitles. Much harder. Then I’ll hit the book again. More my current speed,….my German colleague has leant me a Donald Duck comic which I’m struggling through. At least it has pictures!🤦🏼♀️
Cool video! I just wanted to ask if you know any websites for beginners dedicated to Arabic language learning? I checked out the lingua website, it looks very nice too!
If you are tryng to learn italian, even if you are advanced level, do not read Dante Alighieri. I'm Italian and we study Dante Alighieri in middle school and we barely get a grasp of what he has said when he was alive.
Sì, ho provato a leggere qualche suo libro e MIO DIO come non ha senso. Le cose vecchie possono senza dubbio ferire i principianti, invece di aiutarli. Grazie per il commento
