I do like how the flood happens after a drought. It's accurate because the ground becomes hard and stony from the drought and when the rain falls it doesn't absorb the water well so it just builds up.

The irony of Larkstar fighting to bring enough water back to her clan, only to have lost everything to a flood, then the only way to reach her ancestors and lost family is by cave diving. And losing a life to said cave diving
YOU!! YOU GET IT BREW!!! she's shaped by water, by the ways it's nearly killed her; it's one of her greatest fears, and it's still something she has to face in order to save her clan, over and over again throughout her life, and still she faces it.....ough

HOLY HELL… you’re just seriously one of the best visual storytellers in this community. Not only is this concept and all the stress and emotion that comes with it so perfect, but every story beat hits ridiculously well. Absolutely love your work, and I’m so glad you managed to achieve a compete project despite intense burnout 🫶💙

Imagine if river clan experienced this like they’re gonna have a big gush of water even before the other clans get water because of their rivers right outside their clan and they have no trees in their camp oh really any high surfaces so where are they gonna go?- 0:10
I belive so they had in Bramblestar's Storm, a huge crashwave happened although it was mainly ShadowClan whom got it worse, their old territory all broken and splited. RiverClan manages to survive much tho, but (obviously 🥹) ThunderClan succeeded to not lose any of their clan members.
@@learyana512 Haha, understandable since it only takes me 2-3 days to read a full WC book (since of school hours as well + daily stuff) so 3 months could make you read a lot of them!
okay i need to stres this again but I LOVE how you use colour to portray how the characters see the world. Mudpaw thinking the world is mostly dull portrayed by the monochrome scheme of his animatics. Possum seeing the world bright until losing his mate and son, here the colours become slightly duller. Larkstar seeing the world the way it is, dark and wet when dark and wet, hot and dry when hot and dry. Its so pleasing
As someone who lives in a desert area, rain is both a blessing and a curse. It’s great to finally experience it and to watch the plants spring to life, but it brings flash floods, landslides, and lightning that loves to strike down right next to people. With that out of the way, this PMV was gorgeous! I love the colors used throughout, each one bringing its own sort of emotion. It’s amazing to see what the clan was like before Mudpaw’s time, even if it’s just a snippet.
Friend sent me this with the message "wake up, riley cooked" and boy did you! That transition between the hopeful look upon the rain to the realization of the storm brrr. The two trees falling and the panic afterwards were also strong. I also need to comment on the lovely colour palette, very nice.
@@RileyG Said friend here! I can understand it's weird to consider that others are referring to your projects when you're not there, but it's absolutely the type of attention you deserve with all the great stuff you put out both here and on Tumblr! So, thank you for all you've shared with us so far :D
It has been a long, LONG time since a PMV made me emotional. I teared up watching this, and I think the extraordinarily clear, concise visuals a major reason why. You could feel the desperation in their expressions, and the reality of an apprentice having to collect water with moss and carry it back and watch someone else drink it is just visceral. Your creativity with how the cats dealt with the water shortage really drives home how desperate these cats were, and watching them all scramble away from the resulting flood… god. The change in color pallet was brilliant too. This is easily my favorite PMV that I’ve ever watched. Excellently done
Something I think really pulls this whole story and PMV together is how much sense the disaster makes and how much thought has been put into it. The flood doesn't just happen with no warning, there's build up and ironic tragedy and logic behind it. The scene where the trees fall is 1) my favourite scene in the PMV, it's so dramatic and horrific, Larksong's expressions really sell it and the second tree falling just doubles down on it 2) a really good example of this I think? Because the trees falling isn't just something that Happened, it's a domino affect, the drought killed the trees and made the roots weak, the flood loosened them further, the weight of all the cats tips them over, it gives it a sense of inevitability and like all the world is falling apart, if that makes sense. Sorry for commenting like 4 times
As someone who lives in the desert, my heart dropped when the rain clouds appeared. I knew what was going to happen, I know how the desert works. It really hit that Dramatic Irony, Cosmic Horror vibe. I knew what was going to happen, I also knew silly battle cats would have no way of comprehending that the ground doesn't just soak up water after such a drought. Anyways, love your stuff, and this one especially. Also for small things I noticed and re-checking the Micaclan video a few times. The kits mother, or at least the queen or warrior playing with the kits, appears to be Snaptail. You can see Owlpounce checking in with a cat that I can't QUITE make out in the background of the last scene before it's just Larkstar.
I got so sad when everyone was happy at the rain cause i just knew what was going to happen. When the trees started to fall I actually gasped and was praying for the kits. Absolutely fantastic storytelling.
i love how you made the feeling of relief and panic so tangible and real despite none of the characters ever speaking a word. it shows how great of a story teller you are
Ok but the monent in 1:44 when the rain drop fall from top of Larksong forehead to lower on her cheek and the colorse become darker. It's look like a tear. A tear that she will not have time to spill if she wont to keep remaining of her familie safe AAA I LOVE THIS! ITS MAKING ME WANNA DRAW CATS AGEN
i love how accurate this is, basically, desserts flood in very rainy weather since the ground has been so scorched and hot for so long it isn't permeable anymore (cant soak up the water) and the dessert plains flood
The on-beat switch between amazement and happiness to pure horror when Larksong realized what was happening was amazing. The emotions are so raw and clear!
im gonna be completely honest. i really thought lark'song was gonna throw the kit away into the water💀 luckily though, she didn't 👍 also, my heart dropped when i saw the first tree coming down, that was crazy. legendary video as always!
i don’t think you understand how much i love this, i just watched this. i don’t even know the lore. but i love the thought of a drought with a clan looking for crumbs of water, absolutely dehydrated until disaster struck, flooding happens. waves of water flooding the clan and having the warriors hide in trees absolutely shocked me when said trees fell. having the cat that gave the leader? deputy? that scene absolutely destroyed me - knowing the queen? i think, giving her last bit of energy to save her kit(s). then gave out once knowing her kits were safe, letting herself go. anyways, i adore this. this will be in the back of my head 24/7 when i hear this song.
I am in LOVE with how the tone shifts from a warmish brown to blue towards the end and the sort of red pink in the middle. It’s so cool it’s like a double meaning sort of thing for the conflict of the drought approaching rain that fixes and ruins things at the same time and AURGHHH this is so cool my eyes HAGE been blessed
I’d like to think that the earth was left so cracked and dry that it couldn’t even begin to absorb the rainwater from the storm, leaving the MicaClan cats to only watch as it pooled around them. And this is great! I love the action sequences… and I am kindly going to eat this art. No crumb left behind lmao
Gahhh another masterpiece 💖 Just imagine how the cats felt after the rain, the exitment, the happiness, they finally had water again and were blessed by starclan and the clan could thrive again before it was all swept away...
WOW. my jaw literally DROPPED. this is SO cool??? there’s so much i want to say but i would first of all like to point out 1:32 i don’t think it was intentional but the angle of the rain falling makes it give off the illusion that larkstar is crying from gratefulness (is that even a word) and i think that’s just. so poetic. i also LOVE the way the colors change it really emphasizes the dry and arid environment slowly shifting into joy and hope for the future and then once more into chaos and destruction and i just. WOW. that twist was absolutely incredible i had no idea that flash floods after droughts were a thing but you executed the shock and fear of it perfectly and i genuinely stared at my screen with my jaw slack like a cartoon character for like 5 minutes 😭 i’m going to strangle you dude who gave you the rights to make a video that goes this hard /pos

okay all jokes aside with the irony, I LOVE THIS!!!! THE CHARACTER DESIGNS (that are so strong that you can tell who is who even with different colours), THE SYMBOLIC COLOURS AND THE ANIMATICS, WATER PHYSICS!! I LOVE ALL OF THIS!! CANT STOP REWATCHING IT HELP
OH MY GOSH my immediate thought when the rain started pouring was how deserts get a LOT of rain after their big droughts so when it happened i was !!!! and the tree being uprooted... ACKKK this is so well protrayed
I cant help wondering if the small fire that started was supposed to be an omen or warning somehow. I mean we already know starclan in this universe has the capacity to send omens that get wildly misinterpreted (mudpaw's flower omen) it feels a little too specific for the cats to immediately put a fire out with water, only to immediately lose their whole clan to water
outsTANDING. it's so very good and amazing ack. The art and flow of movement in so many panels is so beautiful. I really especially love the story. I love it in the video, but I also love the description and extra details. All the extra lore helps me connect to the story a lot. The weather hit Micaclan hard... amazing how that's all you need for gripping conflict sometimes. No villains, just... bad, horrible weather. Flash floods after a long period of drought are DANGEROUS. Mudslides are terrifying in particular.
this was such a wonderful watch. ll probably be watching this over and over..the sense of dread i felt when the trees collapsed was INTENSE. your ability to clearly convey a story will never cease to amaze me. also, your style and linework has gotten so crisp and lovely as time has gone on and its so inspiring to see!!!

Not to long after the rain started I realized where this was going. I thought to myself “oh no, it’s going to flood because the grounds to dry to soak up the water in time!” The art is absolutely incredible though and this was super well put together!
Genuinely excellent storytelling. Everything was very comphrensible and the emotions of the lil cats carry through extremely well. I keep tearing up at the cat handing off the kit and being swept under. Fantastic work
You should actually start making more videos about things like this I honestly like prequel things better then sequels I can't wait to see this I've actually wanted to learn more about your characters other then Mudpaw So I can't wait to see this❤❤❤
WHAA THIS IS SO COOLLL! I love how the color pallet changes throughout the animatic for the different phases of the story, particularly subtly right before the flood. The actual animation and movement, I noticed, went with the rhythm with the song, which I really appreciate in animatics hehe. :) just- the way this whole this was formatted and executed was AMAZINGGG
AAA I'm always so excited to see new installments in this story!!! What an incredible pmv as always, you're only getting better with the pacing of the scenes, it all feels so organic! And the character expressions killed me, incredible detail,, as always the climax of the story hits so well, seeing that cat disappear in the waters was horrifying, and the terror in Larkstar's eyes too,, I love how there's so much behind Mudpaw's time!!
wow, this is just incredible, I didn't expect that scene with the flood and the tree collapsing and then I was like: 😨 because I thought they would just keep dancing in the rain, happy. This turned out really beautiful, great job!

This is GORGEOUS!!! Your art style is incredible, and you can make these scenes feel so real and believable. I have no idea how you do it, but this PMV is beautiful.
1:47 : FUN FACT!!! This actually happens in nature!! Not cats making higharchys and advanced social livings. But the drought followed by flood! This unfortunately happens in my area occasionally. where the land dry out so much to where it is prone to wildfire, so when rain does come the soils can’t always take the amount water from the rain. So it starts to flood.. normally the rain stops after no more than 4-5 inches but the change of massive rainfall can happen and create a flood or flash flood like this!!! I just find this naturally disaster you added into this really cool!! Also I about love how you used warm and cool tones to differentiate the drought and the flood!
Ooh this turned out beautiful!!! I love the color pallettes and the story telling just feels so bitter sweet:'D not to mention the little bits of animation sprinkled in!! Absolutely amazing💕
An incredibly late comment but I NEEDED to make one: I stumbled upon this and your channel, and good starclan! Coming from someone still trying to master the skill of art, I found this really amazing. The music and beat to the song fits Micaclan's story line so well! I don't know too much lore of Micaclan, but watching more videos have educated me on it. I love, love, LOVE the color used on this animation, which takes lots of time to fit different cat's pelts and shades too, so props to you. It really shows how dry, dusty, and bare the land is. The animation is beautiful, and incredibly artistic. I loved Larkstar's expession changing as the gifted rain turned to a horrid storm, as well as her face after one of the cats failed to escape the currents. A spectacular piece of animation, and I hope to see more, weather it's on Micaclan or something else. Also thank goodness the kits lived, I was sweating the whole time ;-;
I love this video so much! I've watched it so many times, noticing all the tiny details. Like, i've noticed how after the white cat gives Larksong the kit, he doesn't sink. A wave washes over him instead. Their desperation the first time I watched it just.. wow. Great job.
THIS. WAS. BEAUTIFUL. I rarely find videos like this that look so good, AND have a unique story, AND make me feel the characters feelings! It's genuinely crazy cool to me how this video was able to get this much of a reaction out of meee! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUUUUUUUUCCHH!!!!!
Absolutely stunning! As somebody who's never seen your videos or this story, the storytelling, mainly getting across what was going on, was extraordinarily good! I'm also just a sucker for man (or in this case cat) vs nature plots, especially natural disasters, and the way you got the drought across was amazing, and then the flood was amazing too! I especially like how the cats were celebrating the water at first, but it quickly turned into concern for their safety, and then into "oh my starclan our territory and clan members are at risk." That's the best I can describe how great this was because tbh I am at a loss for words at this animatic. Your art style, your storytelling, everything was awesome! /gen 100% subscribing rn this was too good oml /gen
1:30 I love the detail of how the music gets softer and repetitive to show the rain coming after rationing, and needing water! Its a perfect song for this PMV!. also i cannot stop watching this. i love it sm
The dramatic irony that drips off this just makes me want to cry. IT'S BEAUTIFUL. The visuals, the story, the song choice! The ecstasy turned horror at the miracle turned doom that was the rain. Your storycrafting is so beautiful and unique. Everything flowed so beautifully. I have no clue who any cat is, but I got a sense of the story. I love how the cat (Larksong...?) turns I'm assuming her apprentice Foxpaw away from a small spring of water. The queens and elders come first, after all. In a time of hardship when a younger cat might forget that, Larksong does not. But Foxpaw isn't angry, merely confused and sad (after all, it's just a little water, it's not prey, it's not going anywhere), but obeys anyway. No need for dialogue or grand gestures. Just that. A short scene where Larksong teaches Foxpaw that despite being weary from searching, they drink second. Peak worldbuilding. (BUT THE RAIN SCENE OUWFBOWUBF OWBUF)
Holy shit, your pmvs pull NO PUNCHES, this is gorgeous! I love how quickly the relief turns to shock and fear and how the art and the story just pull you in, to where you can feel palpable fear!
Wah I love the added depth to your world and characters!! It's always so good when creators focus on many different characters to round out the main story/character! This made me like Larkstar a lot too, she's gone through so much ;__;
I love how you were able to convey the story! I especially love the linework and monochrome color pallettes used (i also love this song and i dont think it is used enough in media, nice to see someone using it!)
I can't explain how well you did this? The emotions expressed through the saturation and hue of the color in the shots is amazing, this seems so tragic and I'm so into what you've made The expressions, the anatomy, the body language its just AUGHH, this randomly showed up on my fyp and I'm so glad I checked it out. Especially the shot you drew at 2:42 .. its expressed very well that after all of the tragedy, all that disaster, it happened too fast for them to process any of that Your work seems awesome!!
Oh man I totally get the burnout, I'm still in the early stages of working on something I've wanted to make for a while and struggle with time and energy. So seeing that you finished is super inspiring, not that it wasn't already
It may not be intentional, but the small bit of water they find at the start seems like a warning sign. A hollow in a rock, filled with water and a tilted sapling almost reflects the camp flooded and the trees being uprooted. I love the way that as the cats switch from rejoicing in the rain to realising the storm isn’t stopping, suddenly the cold blues don’t seem any less threatening that the harsh oranges at the start.

YOU!! YOU GET IT BREW!!! she's shaped by water, by the ways it's nearly killed her; it's one of her greatest fears, and it's still something she has to face in order to save her clan, over and over again throughout her life, and still she faces it.....ough
I'm sorry to ask but what does it mean that she is Cave Diving does she go into a cave or I'm sorry I'm just really confused ps I'm so sorry if I made you angry or upset
@@youarespecial108 cave diving is basically when you go to either charted or uncharted watery caves and dive with gear
It’s very dangerous and requires a lot of experience to do safely

HOLY HELL… you’re just seriously one of the best visual storytellers in this community. Not only is this concept and all the stress and emotion that comes with it so perfect, but every story beat hits ridiculously well. The simple color schemes and corresponding tone change were amazingly effective.
The irony of the clan being ruined by the very thing they were desperate for… AGHH!!!
Absolutely love your work, and I’m so glad you managed to achieve a compete project despite intense burnout 🫶💙
WAAAA thank you so much!! Honestly after working on this project for so long and rewatching it so many times in the process, I was feeling like the pacing/storybeats were a bit off lol. I'm so glad they actually came across well, though!!
Thank you so much for your kind words
@RileyG -- The fact that the lighting strikes were on BEAT, just amazING
Imagine if river clan experienced this like they’re gonna have a big gush of water even before the other clans get water because of their rivers right outside their clan and they have no trees in their camp oh really any high surfaces so where are they gonna go?- 0:10
I belive so they had in Bramblestar's Storm, a huge crashwave happened although it was mainly ShadowClan whom got it worse, their old territory all broken and splited. RiverClan manages to survive much tho, but (obviously 🥹) ThunderClan succeeded to not lose any of their clan members.
Didnt they have one in the first series? I think two of Mistyfoot's kits got swept away from the nursery cause of a flood during that time
@@Kitsu_ItezaCreates okay got it!-this was a wile ago that I said this!ty for telling me!

okay i need to stres this again but I LOVE how you use colour to portray how the characters see the world.
I didn't even notice that
As someone who lives in a desert area, rain is both a blessing and a curse.
Dangg starclan really said
"You want water?.. alright bet :3"
*Proceeds to flood their home*
Friend sent me this with the message "wake up, riley cooked" and boy did you!
That transition between the hopeful look upon the rain to the realization of the storm brrr. The two trees falling and the panic afterwards were also strong.
I also need to comment on the lovely colour palette, very nice.

Everything in this PMV feels so real and alive
It has been a long, LONG time since a PMV made me emotional. I teared up watching this, and I think the extraordinarily clear, concise visuals a major reason why. You could feel the desperation in their expressions, and the reality of an apprentice having to collect water with moss and carry it back and watch someone else drink it is just visceral. Your creativity with how the cats dealt with the water shortage really drives home how desperate these cats were, and watching them all scramble away from the resulting flood… god. The change in color pallet was brilliant too.
This is easily my favorite PMV that I’ve ever watched. Excellently done
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I'm so glad the video resonated with you :')
MicaClan: I’m thirsty
StarClan: *sends torrential rain*
MicaClan: *literally drowns* refreshing
A tear that she will not have time to spill if she wont to keep remaining of her familie safe
AAA I LOVE THIS! ITS MAKING ME WANNA DRAW CATS AGEN
0:50 Snaptail in her prime, besides LarkStar and FoxJaw i dont recognize anyone else, not even the kits
2:18 awe NOOOO THE BODIES IN THE WATER
You do not recognize the bodies in the water.
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
What bodies? I don’t recognize any bodies in the water.
YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE BODIES IN THE WATER! THE BODIES IN THE WATER RECOGNIZE YOU!
CRYING SOME MORE
i love how accurate this is, basically, desserts flood in very rainy weather since the ground has been so scorched and hot for so long it isn't permeable anymore (cant soak up the water) and the dessert plains flood
“What I’d give to have some water..”
Starclan:”lookie here champ, it’s free “
The on-beat switch between amazement and happiness to pure horror when Larksong realized what was happening was amazing. The emotions are so raw and clear!
the scene of them jumping for joy to finally get rain only to huddle in horror as it started flooding was so wonderfully dreadful. amazing animatic
“Just a little bit more water please”
Starclan: *absolutely floods their whole home*
“BACK BACK I SAY TAKE IT BACK👹”
im gonna be completely honest. i really thought lark'song was gonna throw the kit away into the water💀

i don’t think you understand how much i love this, i just watched this. i don’t even know the lore. but i love the thought of a drought with a clan looking for crumbs of water, absolutely dehydrated until disaster struck, flooding happens. waves of water flooding the clan and having the warriors hide in trees absolutely shocked me when said trees fell.
having the cat that gave the leader? deputy? that scene absolutely destroyed me - knowing the queen? i think, giving her last bit of energy to save her kit(s). then gave out once knowing her kits were safe, letting herself go.
anyways, i adore this. this will be in the back of my head 24/7 when i hear this song.
Every time Riley G uploads I fall in love with the art, the style, the storytelling, and the characters all over again
omg, the way the thunder strikes on beat!!!!!

Just imagine how the cats felt after the rain, the exitment, the happiness, they finally had water again and were blessed by starclan and the clan could thrive again before it was all swept away...
Hell yeah, some Larkstar content

Clan: We're so thirsty! We need a bit more water please!!
StarClan: *Opens the floodgates*
Clan: NOT A FLOOD!
WOW. my jaw literally DROPPED. this is SO cool??? there’s so much i want to say but i would first of all like to point out 1:32 i don’t think it was intentional but the angle of the rain falling makes it give off the illusion that larkstar is crying from gratefulness (is that even a word) and i think that’s just. so poetic. i also LOVE the way the colors change it really emphasizes the dry and arid environment slowly shifting into joy and hope for the future and then once more into chaos and destruction and i just. WOW. that twist was absolutely incredible i had no idea that flash floods after droughts were a thing but you executed the shock and fear of it perfectly and i genuinely stared at my screen with my jaw slack like a cartoon character for like 5 minutes 😭 i’m going to strangle you dude who gave you the rights to make a video that goes this hard /pos

Personally, I love how the deputy (I think) looks traumatized, after witnessing the leader die really cool detail!
OH MY GOSH my immediate thought when the rain started pouring was how deserts get a LOT of rain after their big droughts so when it happened i was !!!!
and the tree being uprooted... ACKKK this is so well protrayed
AND ALSO larksong's shock after the other cat gets pulled away by the river WAHH ... SOBBING
Starclan: "Hey guys wanna see a magic trick?"
Cats: "Nah nah, we aint dealing with another fire"
Starclan: " Nah we can do you one better"
I cant help wondering if the small fire that started was supposed to be an omen or warning somehow. I mean we already know starclan in this universe has the capacity to send omens that get wildly misinterpreted (mudpaw's flower omen) it feels a little too specific for the cats to immediately put a fire out with water, only to immediately lose their whole clan to water
Love this theory/interpretation!!

it's so very good and amazing ack.

Great facts 🗣️
Ooh this turned out beautiful!!! I love the color pallettes and the story telling just feels so bitter sweet:'D not to mention the little bits of animation sprinkled in!! Absolutely amazing💕
Aaa thanks so much :D
An incredibly late comment but I NEEDED to make one:
I stumbled upon this and your channel, and good starclan! Coming from someone still trying to master the skill of art, I found this really amazing. The music and beat to the song fits Micaclan's story line so well! I don't know too much lore of Micaclan, but watching more videos have educated me on it. I love, love, LOVE the color used on this animation, which takes lots of time to fit different cat's pelts and shades too, so props to you. It really shows how dry, dusty, and bare the land is.
The animation is beautiful, and incredibly artistic. I loved Larkstar's expession changing as the gifted rain turned to a horrid storm, as well as her face after one of the cats failed to escape the currents. A spectacular piece of animation, and I hope to see more, weather it's on Micaclan or something else.
Also thank goodness the kits lived, I was sweating the whole time ;-;
I love this video so much! I've watched it so many times, noticing all the tiny details. Like, i've noticed how after the white cat gives Larksong the kit, he doesn't sink. A wave washes over him instead. Their desperation the first time I watched it just.. wow. Great job.
The absolute fear when the tree fell was insane! Floods after droughts are honestly such good storylines. I would love to see the aftermath of this!
I absolutely love how you used the colour pallets to help show the emotions and of the characters and the clan during all the different situations 🤩
THIS. WAS.
/gen
100% subscribing rn this was too good oml /gen
Thank you so much!! I’m glad the story was easy to follow, I was really trying to make everything clear storytelling-wise :)
1:30 I love the detail of how the music gets softer and repetitive to show the rain coming after rationing, and needing water! Its a perfect song for this PMV!. also i cannot stop watching this. i love it sm
Them: can we have water starclan
Starclan: * pours water *
Them: that’s enough
* keeps pouring *
Them: THATS ENOUGH
HAHAHA NOOO

The expressions, the anatomy, the body language its just AUGHH, this randomly showed up on my fyp and I'm so glad I checked it out.
