Hi team! 💜 thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed today’s video 😄 to safeguard myself from having to “scramble” for a theme idea in May, I thought I’d see if you guys had any suggestions 😊 any themes you want to see me tackle?
I've 3 theme ideas that is love you to make especially the 1st one! 1. A tropical theme - you could have vibrant colours like yellow and green, pastel pink and then have tropical fruit doodles, beach doodles maybe even flamingos. 2. Sun theme - you can have different doodles of the Sun and maybe like rays of the Sun etc. 3. A sky/clouds theme - Gradient skies with watercolour (if you've gotten comfortable with watercolour) and then pretty clouds etc.
My theme for april is centered around emo/punk music since the lead singers for panic at the disco, my chemical romance and fall out boy all celebrate their birthdays in april.
My April theme is butterflies. May is books and blooms. June is Polaroids. July is the ocean and beach. August is tea. September is mason jars and baby’s breath. October is science specimens and anatomy. November is mushrooms. December’s theme is animals tracks in the snow.
turned out great for someone who says they aren't always good at organic shapes! i love how artistic creation helps us question what we think we know are our limits
My theme of for April is "it's all about balance"/ Ying Yang represented by Sun and rain which are creating a rainbow together. The weather elements fit perfect since we have nearly all seasons in Germany during April and I needed an reminder that bad things happen in life and need to happen in order to appreciate the good ones.
I love the cherry blossom wreaths! I'm trying some different things this month. Its only my 2nd month of bullet journaling, so I'm still finding what works for me. I did weekly habit tracking last month, but this month I decided to try a monthly version. I've also changed up from weekly spreads for my daily logs to a looser, write in the days as I have things to add (rolling daily?), style. I'm using an old notebook with a bunch of empty pages for now. If I find I still like it when the end of the year comes, I'll get a fresh journal for 2023.
For April, my theme is Autism Awareness, which is near and dear to my heart. For May, I think I am doing stained glass and Spirographs. I also get to start my new Archer and Olive journal in May. Thanks for all of your inspiration!
I love your color combination together with the craft paper. You spreads always look so pretty and clean. My April theme is Peppermint Patty from Peanuts.
My theme is butterflies!!! Specifically blue ones! Last month, I used only green for my spreads, so I decided to the same thing but with a couple more doodles!
My theme last month was so art-heavy, I wanted to chill and truly doodle this month. I decided on abstract floral blobs lol Should I not even feel like popping in a doodle, a nice color scheme is all I need to feel the month is tied together. I love your April - the typewriter font looks so nice against the craft paper tape.
I think you managed to make the brown and pink feel like fall even with the floral theme! I love this take on the cherry blossom. I did a sakura theme for my daughters february bujo. For me, i went with rain clouds and red umbrellas theme. I put my plan with me up Thursday :)
Thank you for your ALWAYS inspiring videos, I’ve made two April themes, for my journal florals, for the second rainbow and clouds, as a matter of fact today is cloudy and rainy, just waiting for the rainbow as it is spring season here in Connecticut.USA.
I haven't decided for sure what my April theme is going to be. I'm planning on setting it up today and am leaning towards Tulips and or daffodils. Your cherry blossom theme turned out so nice, they are one of my favorite flowers. :)
Wow! I really like this theme. The drawings and everything just look so pleasing. 🥰 My theme for April is origami and I am gonna be having a pastel colour palette. I am looking forward to setting it up this weekend 😎
Love this theme and especially the kraft paper layers! 🌸 You and mochibujo have inspired me to try this next month! For April though, I was inspired by the Archer & Olive sub box and did a hot air balloon theme. Having fun working with stamps and acrylographs for the first time, too!
I used Mochibujo for my spread inspiration as well! Love the cherry blossom theme, you set up was so cool! I love the delicate flowers paired with the typewriter font!
I've been wanting to do a cherry blossom theme for a long time but every time I doodle them, they just never look quite right. It would be awesome if you could make a quick cherry blossom doodle tutorial 😊
“Florals for Spring? How original...” ha ha ha ha!! I love that film! I’m using a cherry blossom 🌸 theme in my bullet journal as April is usually when the Cherry blossom viewing parties take place in Japan. Loving your spreads!
My theme for April is vintage frames. Love the character of these type of frames. They say a picture can convey 1000 words, but these frames can shout over a picture. As for a May theme, I thought of 2 ideas. Moving (like moving from one residence to another - guess what I'm doing - Yuck! hate moving). The 2nd idea was buildings. I wonder about the different conversations buildings can have (i.e. - what a church would say to a hospital). Yep, go ahead & say it "You're weird." It's true......I am.
Love how you draw your cherry blossoms! My theme for April is lavender (hoping looking at my bullet journal each day will give me some sense of calm with this theme lol) but with a scrapbook kind of vibe, with lots of lilac gingham pattern! x
Just came across your channel, coming from Instagram, and I'm so glad I did! I love your contents, how clear you are with your explanations, and how precise you are left me speechless 😂 can't wait to binge watch all of your previous videos, so inspiring! ❤️
I'm going with a bumble bee & wild flowers theme for April. In oklahoma, april is storm season, and I've already seen bee's, wasps, and dirt dobbers yet march isn't over yet. Lol
As for my my weekly layout, I've included more categories based on my Jan - March usage. I'm including a Self-care checklist/tracker, water intake, meals and including achievable goals,, not adding vacuuming as yet for April, I'm not a fan because you start in one room, say the basement, them I'm on the third floor and so exhausted I can barely bring the vacuum back to the basement. I'm also including a health/mood tracker for health reasons. I love your dutch door layout but I'm just not there yet to cut my expensive pages from my journal. Thanks for the time taken to create your videos.
Hi Jashii, I couldn't find a right theme for myself until today. Your video inspired me to recreate your idea from April 2020, so I am going to do bamboo :D. Have a great day 😊
I was feeling wildly uninspired as well. I ended up doing a scrapbook style Gilmore Girls theme with printables so I didn't have to draw anything. The scrapbook style is a big departure for me. It was fund once, but I don't think I could commit to it full time.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your take on the sakura theme! the colors are gorgeous and super relaxing! for april i'm going for a theme inspired by A&O's most recent sub box!
@@JashiiCorrin I'm terrible at using things 😂 I love collecting them and just having them...especially when its exclusive stuff LOL However, when I saw the stickers and colors I was inspired! I'm really excited to use the stamps 😁
I definitely like your execution of the cherry blossom theme the best out of all the ones I watched! I loved the video. As for my theme for April, I went out completely with a 'girl boss' theme meets neon signs meets abstract illustrations done on black paper. I've yet to film the process but it'll most likely come out on Friday.
I love your theme. I haven’t done a flowers like theme yet so I may try it soon. My theme is focused on health. I am eating a special diet and upping my exercise so what’s better than a theme 😂
Bucket list: How about try a new recipe, read a nonfiction/self-help book, try a new technique in art, write a poem or read a poetry book, take a walk in a new place, learn a song or a piece of music if you play an instrument, and write a letter to someone you love.
Funny enough, my theme for this month is loosely related to your Bee theme from February! However, I've done the added bonus of adding in florals that bees love in gardens as well, so things like mint, foxglove, and lavender. Unfortunately my spreads aren't done yet though, because I've been away from my supplies whoops. XD
Hi Jess! I don't normally copy your layouts, however, I love learning from you each week. Your ideas often help me develop my own ideas as I go. Love that! This month though inspiration was not forthcoming so I decided to try your layout directly. I've never really drawn much in my journal, or anywhere really, before so I thought it would be fun. Would you consider showing us which numbered Tombow you are using for which part in future videos? It's normally pretty clear as the colors are generally different but this month was pink on pink. I know which ones you used - helpful link in the doobly-doo - but being artistically hampered as well as missing one color... I struggled a bit to figure out which one went where. It's great being part of your team
Love the theme. Think most people themes have nature theme it would be interesting to see if mental health has a connection somewhere with all being inside due to covid. Propably a bit sad but id love to see u do a science theme. I know u teach it so it might be to close. But id love to know what made to love science and specifically the branch u teach x
Wow! Truly...Wow!! I love this spread! It is so beautiful and all the different elements look simply amazing. You think your idea is typical? Well I have you beat. I’m thinking about doing a Peeps (bunnies) and jelly beans theme. Even though Easter will be over after the first week, I just want to do a pastel theme and thought Jelly Beans in a jar would make a cute mood tracker. A monumental change is happening at work so my brain feels a bit like a bowl of jello, so I don’t even know if I will be able to get a theme done properly and may just have to stick to the basics with lists with color and no doodles. Will just have to see if I have the energy to take the time to do it. Another great video though and thanks for sharing!
My theme for 2021 as a whole is the birth stones for each month. My monthly themes are based on color schemes surrounding each month's birth stone. So for April, my theme and colors are based on April's birth stone, diamond.
@@JashiiCorrin the list I have has pink tourmaline for October. It was kind of tough because there are a surprising amount of varying lists for birth stones.
@@JashiiCorrin haha I struggled with a theme so bad this month I think lockdowns are killing my creativity as I’m not getting out and seeing new things! Xx
@@JashiiCorrin ❤️❤️ BTW, I have a request, Can you please do a video on non cursive sub-header fonts/style ideas? Cuz whenever I do subheaders, I find that I end up doing the same thing over and over again and it looks like my regular day to day handwriting too😅😅 also, please tell me the font you used for the header🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I went for a lemon minimalist theme but I did seriously consider sakura as a theme. This turned out beautiful and kinda makes me regret going with lemons... oh well!
Love it!! My April theme, and the 2nd theme in my whole entire life is .... drumroll 🥁 .... Cherry Blossoms(!!) which are just starting to come out here in Vancouver(ish) BC Canada. I drew a whack more cherry blossoms than you did, and I'm pretty sick of drawing them! Haha For May, I'm thinkiing of doing something Asian inspired (inspired by Amanda Rach Lee) in solidarity with the folks in that community in light of the recent increase in hate. We have a new Red Panda named, of all things, Sakura, so that might be perfect!!
Hello, Jess! As it is autumn here as well, this means the world will soon turn into a boring palette of muted colours (Why are winter clothes so dull?). I desperately need vibrant colours, so I decided that my theme for April would be mainly polka-dots and wavy lines. My inspiration for the palette (bright red, orange, lilac, pink) came from... the beads of my mask holder (facepalm)!
I have donuts for mine, inspired by some washi tape and stickers that I have. I am wondering: what is it like to write on the other side when you have the paper pasted in? I imagine the edges feel a bit awkward.
Depends on which type of paper; the printer paper sections there’s not a lot of difference as that paper is much thinner than the Archer & Olive, while the craft paper tape I used is a bit thicker (not sure how thick though!) so there’s a bit of a ridge to pay attention to there 😊 sometimes I use brown paper bags instead with are less of an issue given thinness 😄
@@JashiiCorrinAwesome! I have been worried as using washi on another side of the A&O paper has been a little annoying, but I think it is thicker than standard printer paper. :)
This video came at the perfect time! I need to use a cherry blossom kit i bought last year and wanted to do something similar but not exactly like mochi bujo's -- that monthly spread is definitely going to be included!! 2 questions - is there a reason you didn't include a master task list? And I remember you saying that having the dutch door of the productivity icons in the past caused you trouble, is there a reason you brought it back?
Previously I used the Dutch door for the icons but mainly had an issue when it went all the way to the top of the page 😛 just cause then I couldn’t see my titles and it bothered me, haha This time I’m using the Dutch door for a 2 lines a day and mood tracker section 😊 normally I like to have larger task lists on my weeklies rather than in my monthly set up. I tried one for March in the monthly set up but it didn’t get used so left it out for April 😊
Lollllll Your theme is Sakura, and my friend started a channel called Studio Sakura lolllllllllll And we just did a collab where she drew a Sakura themed character hehe
Probably a question that's been answered before. But, I never see smears on your black lines. Is that a super fast drying time? (If it's already answered In a video just point that way. 😉) I also did Spring, basically April Showers Bring May Flowers, for my theme. Happy Planning.
I normally just have enough wait time between drawing one line and the next to get it to dry 😊 otherwise it's about not working "over" lines that have just been ruled out (so not moving my ruler over a freshly drawn line to rule out the next one) I hope that makes sense 😋💜
Nice! I do appreciate that with most themes, there’s such a range of what you can do with them so even with a lot of people having the same main theme, the way they execute it can be totally different 😄💜

It's autumn there. Maybe a cozy theme like coffee/tea?
The stop-motion with the habit tracker labels was so cute

For May, I'm thinkiing of doing something Asian inspired (inspired by Amanda Rach Lee) in solidarity with the folks in that community in light of the recent increase in hate.
Gorgeous 😍 😍 😍 😍
Thanks Karen! 😄💜
Any chance you’ll have a print out for that habit tracker? I want to try it but also don’t want to try to draw it.
Thank you again!
The mini-calendars? I could do a print out for those 🤔😄💜
I have donuts for mine, inspired by some washi tape and stickers that I have.
Previously I used the Dutch door for the icons but mainly had an issue when it went all the way to the top of the page 😛 just cause then I couldn’t see my titles and it bothered me, haha
This time I’m using the Dutch door for a 2 lines a day and mood tracker section 😊 normally I like to have larger task lists on my weeklies rather than in my monthly set up. I tried one for March in the monthly set up but it didn’t get used so left it out for April 😊
My theme is ice cream 😋 😍
Awesome! I just realised that ice-cream as a theme would have worked well for my colour palette too, haha 😂 💜
Lovely 🌱🌸
Thanks Kariné 😄💜
Esta debe ser una señal para por fin empezar! :D
Do itttt! 😄💜
@@JashiiCorrin omg thanks :DDD
Lollllll
Your theme is Sakura, and my friend started a channel called Studio Sakura lolllllllllll
And we just did a collab where she drew a Sakura themed character hehe
Haha what a fun coincidence! 💜😄
@@JashiiCorrin hehe
My theme for April is Kraken / ship wrecks...
Oh that sounds awesome! 😦💜
@@JashiiCorrin I like it so far! I took the nautical theme you did for March and changed it up 🤣
Amazing video🖤
Thanks Masha! 😄💜
Probably a question that's been answered before. But, I never see smears on your black lines. Is that a super fast drying time? (If it's already answered In a video just point that way. 😉)
I also did Spring, basically April Showers Bring May Flowers, for my theme.
Happy Planning.
I normally just have enough wait time between drawing one line and the next to get it to dry 😊 otherwise it's about not working "over" lines that have just been ruled out (so not moving my ruler over a freshly drawn line to rule out the next one) I hope that makes sense 😋💜
@@JashiiCorrin yes thank you so much.we
Image's April Theme: Swimming Baby Ducks
Mirror's April Theme: Detectives (every mistake is a clue to the criminal)
Oh I love that! A lil bujo mystery 😦💜🐥
beautiful :)
Thanks Michael! 😄💜
So sorry for a dumb question. But what is the font you're using in this theme?👉👈
Linowrite 😊💜
What font do you use for the typewriter type font?
Linowrite 😄
@@JashiiCorrin Thank you! I have been looking for a good typewriter font. :)
My April theme is camping because I am taking part in the writing event #campnanowrimo.

💚💙💜
My theme is a 50s diner sign kind of thing. I got the idea from AmandaRachLee but my setup doesn't really look much like hers
Nice! I do appreciate that with most themes, there’s such a range of what you can do with them so even with a lot of people having the same main theme, the way they execute it can be totally different 😄💜
