What a cool set up! It looks beautiful! My favorite book quote is one I think you would appreciate. It's by Groucho Marx: "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." 🤣
This is so beautiful 😍 I love that you talk about how we might not love every page we make, this is so true but it's also part of the fun to be able to try new themes and new layouts
I love this book theme that you've done! It's one of my favourite themes of yours now! I especially love the gold and navy blue combination, as well as the use of red, green and blue (+ gold) for the books themselves.
I absolutely adore this theme! I've only recently gotten back into reading after a several year hiatus. Completely agree that some bookish quotes can come off as a bit pretentious. For July, my theme is 'stuff one does on a train to somewhere' so lots of decor with books, food, and landscape. Really it's just a mess of stickers and cutouts from magazines/calendars.
Using the pages from the sub box notebook is a good idea. I was trying to think of what to do with that notepad, and embellishing my bullet journals is perfect. Now if I can just decide on what theme I want to use for my July setup. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is such a unique take on a books theme with the navy paper! Although I think I might be the only one who prefer navy with silver. But I do enjoy silver more than gold... And I do use Dutch doors for my cover page always. But instead of the books I'll do the month number or first 3 letters. I did a jellyfish theme in space (/with stars) in a blackout bujo :D
I am a huge reader so the book theme looks perfect to me! The colors look amazing and everything goes perfectly together, I think that this is my favorite theme that you have ever done! You haven't inspired me so I'm going to try and make a decorative dutch door just like yours! I also got a new pack of stickers and the whole pack is focused solely on reading so I'll be able to utilize my new stickers too! I've just started experimenting with Dutch doors. I used a decorative Dutch door in one of my spreads last week. It was a spread that listed out all of my boyfriend's expenses for the past 6 months. I was in charge of his money while he's been away and he wanted an itemized list so I made a spread with his nickname, Jr, as the front of the Dutch doors
I absolutely adore this book theme. 💖 My theme for July is Synthwave. It's my son's birthday month, so I'm doing his party theme as my bujo theme as well. Hopefully, he will enjoy helping me.
I am most definitely re creating this set up. It is my favourite this year! That vertical book stack Dutch door is everything! Personally, 2021 has been all about getting back into reading so this theme is particularly perfect for my August set up! There really ought to be a LOVE button. Sometimes LIKE just doesn’t cut it! Looking forward to seeing the dailies! My theme for July is cacti and the dessert!
Wow!! Your set up is gorgeous! I love the navy and gold color combination. I am just getting interested in bullet journaling. Investigating what bullet journaling is all about. Your spreads are delightful!!
Love this theme! The colors work out so nice and the gold touches are superb.📚I might have to consider some gold watercolors. I love the look of it on the blue paper.
I *love* this theme! The gold really stands out well with the blue craft paper. Since July is when we celebrate our Independence Day here in the States, I'm using a lot of red and blue colors, along with some purple to add just a little bit of flare.
I love this theme so much!! Definitely one of my favorites, and your execution is positively lovely! For July, I set up a "sea of dreams" theme... mostly just stylized waves, cotton candy clouds, and golden moons. And I also used that new navy paper from the June sub box! Such a pretty color!
i think this is my favourite theme you've ever done!! it turned out so cool! i love the colour palette and the dutch door! my theme for july is my birthday :)
I read all the time. Not stuffy stuff. No classics for me. Funny stories, time travel, cozy mysteries, urban fantasy…with werewolves, vampires and magical animals. That being said…this spread is complete perfection. Right now I’m setting up a brand new budget planner. It is boring work, but it will be my most used planner. Thank you for this awesome design.
This, I think, is my favourite theme so far. But, I may be a bit biased as I am an English teacher. I love everything from the gold accents to the decorative dutch door. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing what you do :o) My July theme is a bit more outdoor-ish: Cattails & Dragonflies. The colour pallet includes lots of rich blues, browns, and greens with just a few deep red accents. So far I am pleased with the outcome. I cannot wait to see what you do next...
Good way to expand on the book tracker with this theme. I've not used dutch doors at all, but this was super cute. I might try this type. My July theme is axalotyls with food.
I love the blue and gold color combo! These pages turned out beautifully! I am going with a photography theme for July. I am a nature photographer, and one of my photos will be included in a digital exhibition in Cyprus in early July. It is the first time my work is going to be included in such an exhibition, so I am extremely excited about it!
These spreads are gorgeous! I adore the gold accents and overall color combination. I am still waiting for my Archer & Olive subscription box so you gave me a bit of spoiler haha but I am so excited for it to finaly arrive :D My July theme is 'hot air baloons' and I spent a lot of time on it but I love how it came out. Also dutch doors, yes I did use them for the first time last month and fell in love :D
I liked those books for your dutch door. That came out excellent. I started a time tracker like I saw in one of videos awhile ago, but I've learned to hate it. I chose colors for activities etc., but filling it all out at night was a pain in the ass, so I now just keep track of sleeping. Thanks
Fair enough! I had a time tracker in May and found it kinda helpful in keeping myself accountable, or at least actually taking note, if when I was working too late 😛 can very easily be an everyday type thing!
whenever I make my spreads I always use the same colors for the days of the week. There are 7 colors in the rainbow and 7 days a week with the week starting on Mondays Monday= red Tuesday= orange And so on and so forth..... Friday is a light sky blue Saturday is indigo which I typically use Staedler dark blue That's my little way to show my pride throughout the year!!!! I don't really use themes so I never have to worry about everything matching. But it always looks good!
I love the colors and the look of the colors on the edge of your Dutch doors! I don't think you said it- what medium did you use when you colored in the edges?
I have been here since 4k and when you were getting 500 views per video and it is so cool to see you grown bc i am now setting up my half wat bc it happens late june for me
I love this!! It's giving me a winter time/end of fall semester feel with all of these colors! Beautiful job! I have no idea what I want to do for my July theme yet, but hopefully I'll have an idea soon :D
This theme is absolutely stunning 😍 I made a book theme in the past too, but it can't compete to yours under no circumstances I want to do a minimalistic star theme in silver metallic, gray and black fitting my new journal
Love this theme and it turned out so great! The wood grain is not as time-consuming as your March nautical rope border, but I’m sure it took a lot of time!
This looks amazing!! I've been tempted by the gold watercolours so many times, but I can't justify the cost at the moment, sadly! No theme for me, as I've gone back to minimal/original bullet journalling method. Though I do have a colour I do all my headings in, and I'm doing pink!

I write large and long and tend towards scrawling in A4 drawing books rather than being neat in A5 dotted grids... but I need a bit more structure!!! And I forgot to say - love your Dutch door!
I'd like to do a theme using my first ever acrylographs set but silly me read the marker size as 0.3mm instead of 3.0mm. And I enjoy the finer detailing in spreads so not sure what to do there.
Hi Jess... looks like no one else noticed you wrote July in your last 3 weekly layouts at 0:42, 0:49 and 1:08. 😉 maybe that’s why you didn’t like spreads. Love your work though. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Haha I think you're actually the 3rd person to comment about it 😝 I agree though, probably also another reason why I'm not overly taken with the layouts 😅
It would depend on how much water you added, but to be on the safer side I'd probably do letter-by-letter (or if you'd penciled the lettering out first, you could work from right-to-left; I do that sometimes when I want to get things centered properly 😋 )
I absolutely LOVE this theme and set up!!!!!!!! I think it’s my all time fave! 📚
Haha thanks Jennifer 💜😄 glad you like it!

Awww thank-you! That’s very high praise! 💜😄
I adore all this spreads! Love the combo of navy blue + gold watercolor
Oh wow I really love this theme! I especially love the decorative dutch door border, super cute.
As a bookish person (they feature prominently in both my personal and work life!), I love this theme! Your videos are so soothing to watch!

Thanks Heather! It’s a favourite combo of mine 😄💜
This is my most favorite of the setups you have ever done along with the other setup you did where you used those gold paints.
This is so beautiful 😍 I love the book theme and the idea of tracking where you spend your time x
Definitely one of my all-time favorite themes! I love your user of the gold paint abs the blue paper.
Thanks! The blue and gold go well together 💪💜

absolutely loved the blue and gold combo. Hope you feel better soon 💜

I was in charge of his money while he's been away and he wanted an itemized list so I made a spread with his nickname, Jr, as the front of the Dutch doors
A book theme, great idea! I'm using pinwheels for my July theme. I'm learning to draw them to be able to include them in my set up.
Books were my february's theme and I loved it. For July I am planning for cats theme🐈.
And OMG the dutch door is amazing.
