Thank you. I'm glad you appreciated my efforts to synchronize lyrics with action. In some of the videos I've rendered, I don't always line those two elements up with the utmost of grace.
@@5kylord You welcome. It's not a problem. I wanted to find out for myself what films were used in this video. And when I did it, I thought that maybe when I enter a comment, someone else is also using it. Greetings.
It was an embarrassment of riches ... newer bands (The Police, Aha, Fine Young Cannibals, UB40, Dire Straights, The Go Go's, Oingo Boingo, etc.), older bands (The Who, Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, George Harrison, etc.) Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, U2, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, etc., too many amazing musicians to mention ... lucky to have experienced music in the '70s, '80s and '90s. Talk about the soundtrack of your life ...
Thank you for taking the time to write a positive comment. I'm glad you liked the video. I did actually take my time with this particular video as it represents an era whose music and movies will always hold the greatest preference of mine.
Thank you kindly. I really fancied Kelly LeBrock a great deal back in my younger days. Here's a video I did that features A LOT more Kelly LeBrock: ua-cam.com/video/RHcG2iVTXvs/v-deo.html
He did look like a bit of a psycho back then. Now adays he (Danny Elfman) is a major composer for the soundtracks to some big name movies. You can usually see his name in the beginning credits "musical score by Danny Elfman".
@@5kylord Perhaps not so much as a psycho, but that of an incredibly talented quirky oddball. I would have loved to see a musical/theatrical collaboration between Danny Elfman & Tim Curry. I've lost count at how many times I've followed up on a particulary noteworthy movie soundtrack, to discover it's genius is that of Danny Elfman. While his major contribution to the film industry is well known within the industry and among his peers & associates, he certainly lacks the recognition and accolades from the general public..... something he richly deserves. Btw Ollie,....I'm unsure if you're the actual creator of this vid, but if so, you've created a masterfully stitched together production here, now on my favourites list with an A+ grade.
@@familiarpurrson8744 Funny you mention John Williams. He was WB's first choice to score *Batman* in 1989 before a crowded work schedule and Tim Burton's influence got Elfman the job instead
Better Off Dead, Last American Virgin, Dirty Dancing, Can't Buy Me Love, Some Kind of Wonderful, and Pretty In Pink rounds off the list of movies used in this video.
Does anybody knows what movie is the first one? The one where the two people stay in the car and they are complaining about the noise and then the police also joins the party. After that, the wife also joins the party and when the husband ask what is she doing...she says Intellectual curiosity Phillip. I would really want to see that movie. I was attracted to it just from that line. It would be much appreciated.
Although Dirty Dancing takes place in the 50's, it still an iconic movie that is associated with the 80's. Also, because of the title of the song "Dead Man's Party", I wanted to include Patrick Swayzee in the video being that he no longer resides with the living. Perhaps you could make your own 80's tribute video if you my choice of movies isn't to your liking.
