Im still considering myself to be extremely lucky and also wise when I chose Porto Santo as a day trip location during our trip to Madeira back in 2019. Its just lovely to see that the island has not changed since then (or even since 1991 😅) I remember it being one of the most relaxing places I’ve travelled to. A week in Porto Santo could be a perfect place to heal anyone with a burnout. Thank you again for a great video! 👍
Definitely up there as one of your best vids, thoroughly enjoyed this. Also loved the overall message re Porto Santo being just fine the way it is and not to spoil it like has been done to so many other resorts.
Nice video. Beautiful ending! I love that so many of these Portuguese islands have retained their charm and authenticity. I went to a few Azorean islands earlier this year, and loved the raw, untouched beauty and the simple lives people lived. We don't need much as humans, but modern society tells us otherwise... and I hate that.
This video is on a level up. It has the usual great video and drone shots, informative and humorous editing; but adds useful visuals from historical research.
Amazing video! This island remember me São Vicente island in Cape Verde. You should go there, and also go to Santo Antão it's close to São Vicente 1 hour ferry boat. And i also think Santo Antão is really similiar to Madeira island but less development and more authentic. I think you guys would do an excelent videos about this 2 cape verdean islands that are still not that touristic and people are amazing in this portuguese speaking islands.
Thanks so much, Goncalves. Cape Verde has been on our list for quite some time. We will eventually go there, as we want to explore Macaronesia in depth. We also need to see the Canary Islands beyond the tourist traps. Cheers!
Nice and interesting video. Your diet is really doing wonders with your bodies, I guess you feel much better since the change you made in your life. Keep it up!
Love Porto Santo! Even in July, the beach didn't feel crowded. Most memorable to me was joining a local guide to do snorkeling in the east side of the island. Water so clear and shaked hands with an octopus! Where you have the crepe seems to be the spot where they used to sell the lambacas (soft serve). Next time try a kayak trip near Calheta beach to see the rocks and caves. Or get a yellowfin sandwich at the Golfinho snack bar. Nothing fancy but tasty. 😊
Thanks guys for this video. It took me back to memory lane. Last time I was in Porto Santo was over 20 years ago. It looks pretty much the same. Unbelievable.
Excellent video and absolutely beautiful nature. Have you two ever considered visiting the Rockies and Alaska? That's a different kind of raw natural beauty that is both breathtaking and awe inspiring too. We truly are blessed with a beautiful world to appreciate and enjoy! Stay Blessed and Safe Travels
Porto Santo was our secret, and you guys let it out😮...but you proved one of several points, mainly that Porto Santo is special, expensive, and that there are redhead Portuguese!! Not bad😊❤
Haha! Well, I don't think anything can change Porto Santo after all this time. Not even the most viral video, because the beach itself should've been enough decades ago to transform the place into something much more modern. And yes, redhead Portuguese, but I have a suspicion it's the work of a hairdresser 💇
Lived ther in 2017 and 2018. Pretty much the same. Friendly people, good food, great beach. Apart from the new Pingo doce and the fuel station, nothing new. Thank god they´r bilding a new health center, the old one is crap.... you don´t wanna get sick there. Other than that, the island could be way more developed than what currently is, but the corropted government wont allow that, to protect Madeira turism. Awesome holliday destination, terrible to live there (if your used to the everyday needs of a modern city).
the population doesnt need, nor it doesnt want, a beachfront full of tall hotels or flashy resorts. There are some, but a good part of the beachfront area is fortunatelly still intact
Porto Santo is a PORTUGUESE island! Of course the restaurants are PORTUGUESE! 🤣🤣 So silly to expect otherwise!! I'd want and would expect something native when visiting a DIFFERENT culture, of course!!! No nightclubs? Yay! No trouble.
Thanks. We only spent around 1000€ on our two days on Porto Santo along with 10 days of editing. Your feedback is highly appreciated, as it really motivates us to continue working hard, as this kind of love warms our heart. ❤
@@joenandamalie You're the first influencers that showcased my country with beautiful editing quality and authentic charm. To this day I still show your first São João video to foreigners that want to visit or are staying here in Porto. I have never felt the need to express any of this until I read that idiotic comment that you guys replied to. I hope good vibrations have been restored, keep up the good work!
#PRAYFORAMALIE 😄
Are you still alive and well Joen? 😄
Amalie here: no he is not 🤣
I left my Hometown Porto Santo 25 years ago and this video almost brought me tears to my eyes... Great Video ❤
Let’s keep it that way

I lived in the 90's in Porto Santo and it's almost exactly has I remembered, thank you very very much for this huge trip down memory lane!
Happy to give you a trip down memory lane. Porto Santo is so oldschool it's hard to believe! :D

Wauw thanks so much, Bela! We worked super hard on this one so your kind words mean a lot ♥️

Loved it. The pace, the vibe, commentary and especially the music. Didn’t want the video to end 😍
It's a really good video, fresh and entertaining, even both of you look reborn, good job.
I love these longer - documentary style videos. I would love to see Madeira vs Canary Islands video, pros & cons style. Keep up the quality work!
Thanks so much, Matis. We are going to Canary Islands next year, so we will definitely do those videos :)
@@joenandamalie Superb, thanks for the reply. Can't wait for those videos!

Great video, I've never been to Porto Santo but, in the coming few years, I hope to check it off my list.
Thank you for showing it like this.

Porto Santo is truly a paradise, and has a lot of life at night, especially in August and there are clubs

The dream of the 90's is alive in Port...o Santo.
Great video, but for me, the paradise is green Madeira.

The highest number of redhead persons in Portugal is in Beja.

I loved this film, I feel the good vibes from it and from you guys. Great you left the that 5* opinion.
Cool vlog. No matter how old you are u learn something new every day. Life is fantastic
You guys are awesome! Also, top notch edits.
Thanks so much!!
This video went by so fast, I didn't even notice how long it is. Love these travel documentaries!
Aww thanks so much ♥️
Damn , I just want to go there
Terrific video guys! Any chance you will be in Lisboa anytime between mid-December and mid-March? I’ll be there, and would love to see you both xo
Nice video, well done.
The crepes girl is nice 😎
Dont be crepey hehehehe 🤣
Yes, thumbs up 👌

Love this ❤
The whole Portugal stuck in 1991 or even 1984 so the Porto Santo is not an exception.
Didn't realize it was a bathing suit. It's gorgeous and the over shirt. Were did you get it. Very flattering
Not sure if you mentioned it, but porto santos sand has actually therapeutical benefits
It looks so lovely. You mentioned 127 days with James Franco. Franco's father's family is of Portuguese descent from the Madeira islands...
❤️ Nice one
Love it🇵🇹❤

47 minuts????????
Man... you are making me watch this in several sections
I love Amelia's outfit
Porto Santo has a big issue with fresh water (that's something tourists don't understand). Let the island be a low tourist destination.
Heloioo! There is no water . No water no life.
The crepe on palito is Brazilian
Não sabia que o crepe foi inventado no Brasil.
What AI do I use in the video?
Thanks

So, how did you like Florida?
Great cells 👍🏼

No flashy resorts please. We need more authenticity in this world. Flashy resorts reeks of privilege.
Sure, but I would argue that there is also no authenticity in depressing architecture, which is the case for the majority of hotels on Porto Santo.
😎🍻
❤️
Barbers look the same everywhere because they work for the government.
Madeira looks nicer...
Sure.. beyond the beach Madeira is much more stunning!
Organ donors! 😆
