Love this man - just discovered him.
Have to mention, an atheist Buddhist monk is not an anomaly. Buddhism does not worship a god or gods, the Buddha was just a man who taught others how to reach enlightenment and see the world as it actually is.
I've only just heard about this, and it strikes me as a great idea.
Doesn't sound much like you want to understand the science but if you did want a basic idea you could watch a universe from nothing by Lawrence Krauss it's here on youtube. easy to find, Lawrence does a great job making the incredibly complex fairly simple to understand. What we know how we know and how we know we know it. Or you could go back to your affirmation thing you had going there...sounded pretty awesome.

shit.. on my phone.. anyway,.... of the available options to even have a debate of significance was the default notion that at least one of them was right. soon that debate will be as significant as a debate about which comic hero kicks the most ass. they will assume there proper place of no longer being forces in reality. our species will no longer be trapped to suffer along with two fictions that have a net effect of paralyzing our development, potential and chance of peace among men.
