My good friend is Columbian while I'm white. When I went to his house one day, I watched a Columbian crime drama with his parents. I had no idea what they were saying unless subtitles were present, but it was really, really good. One thing I did notice was every single character was Columbian and the story was put first. I asked my friend why other countries don't whine about representation like America and he said, "Because we have more important things to care about."
it's Colombian with 2 O's bud. if you write it that way all Colombians will love you instantly. Also yeah for most of the rest of the world the big social problems are poor vs rich and criminal vs non-criminal. White vs non White is reserved for only the richest, most powerful, most progressive and least racists countries on earth XD
Colombian is not a race tho. Lots of Colombians are white, black, asian, the majority is mixed tho. Colombia is a very diverse country, so if you watching a show and the actors mostly have light skin the show is filmed in medellin or bogota, anywhere else you'd see actors with darker skin. And you're friend is correct, they really dont give a f about representation down there, they got better things to focus on.
Not Colombian but as someone who grew up and lived in Latam your friend is right, we have many problems of our own that could actually affect our lives, and caring about being represented the "correct" color, identity, orientation, etc tends to be something that we can often consider "first world problems"
no. cos in America race is business, Race hate is monetized. Also cos USA have bad laws and policies regarding race. The force representation, the lies and affirmative action actually contribute to race hate.
Yes it sad that other black people have to suffer because some other black rasict tray to make the life for other black people and your life worse. And that to know that the biggest slave trader in history was a black person. My brother and sister are black and I'm happy the living a happy life far away from this black rasict people that always complain about BS.
What really ticks me off about the left is this idea that black people must be “this or that” in order to have any identity, like a cookie cutter. Anything but conservative seems to be the template from what I have seen. The more they can get to act like gangsters the more they can play the victim card when they get killed and push for more destructive social policies. Case in point, how are those areas/cities where the police numbers have been cut down? Also, look at Bill Gates drive to “de-colonise maths”. On first impression it seems like empty platitude but it’s actually more sinister. The elites are using black people as leverage to dumb the whole system of meritocracy down so people get degrees just by having a pencil, that’s how low they want to set the bar. People smart enough to push a button but not smart enough to ask why. They are inadvertently calling black people idiots.
"I didn't want any black people on my team because I wanted the people on my team to be just like me. All white. Because I know that's safe." - lmao can you imagine the back lash
Doesn't sound very egalitarian for people always spouting off about social justice and civil liberties, as if we're still at first base and we still have not made any great strides in that regard. Nope, Western society is still xenophobic and bigoted despite being the most pluralistic and egalitarian area of the world
These people quite literally are at odds with everything that makes the West great. Pluralism, acceptance of different ideas, humility and the pursuit of truth instead of self-affirmation, rationality, self-sufficiency and individual accountability
@lino222 golden comment of the century. Or a biographical of Hitler starring any male black actor. It's kinda whimsical that these arguments even exist
@emjayel206 reparations were given. The entire civil rights movement was their reparations. They wanted to be free, well here we are; they can't handle life without masters.
I'm definitely seeing why they're always so worked up though. Between being constantly victimized, and having invented literally everything thirty years before the first dinosaurs walked the earth, I'd say they're definitely owed something. 🙄 🤦
that's what happens when we celebrate delusion. suddenly black people appropriating everything they can. heck they're saying cleopathra was black. lmao
Agreed! It's bad here in Canada too and it makes me sad. Growing up in the 80's and 90's it was brought to our attention that racsim was still a thing, but we were talking about it at least. By 2000, the hype had settled a bit and it seemed to me that we were all moving on in a better world. Now I feel that we're about to go full circle and we're going to have a generation of anti-white propoganda. Far as I'm concerened, racsim is racism, and it's not going away until we can all stop talking about it.
Yes, you are absolutely right! That poisonous entitlement to criticize everything all around the world what doesn't support our own worldview is really shocking and disgusting. They finally should take care of their own broken country instead of talking about things they will never understand. Especially in the case of Japanese culture, habits and customs absolutely sacred for the Japanese people. With respect from 🇨🇿 ❤️ 🇯🇵
People that don't want to take responsibiltiy for their own failures in life so want to blame someone else for it and to keep the facade that without help they will be nothing. So they keep going on about racism in the hope they get handouts and/or good jobs without trying because people feel sorry for them. Also by going on about racism and attacking others it will make some people hate them thinking they are one of the moaners which helps their cause to make out that what they say is correct.
Because the the majority of people are stupid. When I say stupid I mean stooooooopid....go talk to people, they are misinformed, have no knowledge of history or basic schooling. People focus on these stupid things instead of focusing on elevating ourselves and helping people around them.
In the saying about a samurai having a bit of "black blood", black blood refers to common blood. It means that a samurai should not have a completely noble(royal) background, and should have a bit of commoner in him. It has nothing to do with African blood.
That quote about black blood is from a Frenchman who used it as an anti Japanese sentiment. Not exactly the best example to use when it comes to trying to prove black people were in Japan or something
Where my family's from, in our culture when someone gets called black, it's referring to their dark hair, eye brows and eye color. Black Americans take the word black very literally. It doesn't mean the same thing in other parts of the world.
As an American, sorry dude. A lot of African Americans here think that the world recolves and can't stand the history of other peoples doesn't include them. Their straight up divas with a god complex.
They also think African always means black too, my French Algerian friend gets racism from both ends, French people are racist to her for "not being French", but then black people are racist to her for claiming to be African despite not having dark skin
If I recall, Yasuke wasn't even a samurai, he was merely a retainer who carried stuff for Nobunaga. Honestly, he was most likely kept around to be shown off as a curiosity more than anything.
It’s because it’s in Japan. For mainstream diversity thinking, diversity just means not all white. You can have all black or all Asian etc but you simply cannot have an all white cast that’s just not allowed anymore. It’s seems like some are now pushing that all Asian is not acceptable.
A lot of the Japanese cast said they wouldn't do it if it didn't have majority Japanese cast as well. Which helps. West needs to do this more. Certain races are just trying to steal and claim ownership of other races cultures because they don't have anything.
Under black Nation of Islam there was a guy named Yakub who invented white people, once that happened they were all pushed back to Africa. Although many dont believe this, a lot do believe that whites took credit for black inventions once they appeared. Its a way of claiming all the good with taking credit for all the bad. Its also called Afrocentrism
If algebra has taught me anything, _if_ both of those things are true, _then_ that means that some of or all of black people were evil, racist monsters. Almost like every member of the *human race* is identical in their willingness to engage in evil deeds.
Actually don't pick either of them both of them are stupid. Europeans aren't astronomically more evil than any other group in history, and Europeans were not originally black
The family orientedness is somewhat true, but it’s dying out; hence the population decline. They’re way more workaholic and have such a severe desire to avoid drama that they go to unhealthy lengths for it, it somewhat isolates them from one another. Japan is great, but it has its own issues and imo shouldn’t be compared to the US.

I am melanated, but I'm german of african descent living in germany. There is no BLACK community. I don't want to get mixed in with people overseas just because we have the same skin tone. Just like let's say an irish person doesn't want to get mixed in with americans just because of the white skin tone. Specify "Them" or stop using race to differentiate in the first place because it goes deeper. There's ethnicity, then there's nationality, then there's socio-economic statuses/class, then there's even tribes. Race is a social construct. We are not one people because we have the same skin tone. Neither are we so different if we don't because human genetics are very intertwined across all "races". I see black americans ruining the image of all melanated people globally on a daily basis, and it fucking annoys me.
White people have worn braids for thousands of years. The vikings wore braids, exactly like corn row braids. They were called viking braids. And dreads were worn through out Europe. They need to get over themselves. Think of all the things we've shared with the world. Football, basketball, skiing, musical instruments, radio, TV, cars, planes, medicine, etc...the list is simply too long to go on. And they freak out over braids and dreads. That's all they have I guess!

Years ago I went down the braids rabbit hole .. the earliest depictions of hair styles that could be braids are from Neanderthal cave paintings ca 50'000+ years old, but due to the abstract depiction of humans in neanderthal art it's not certain, while the first likely depiction of braids or possibly corn-rows is the Venus of Willendorf a ca. 30'000 years old paleolithic artefact from Austria.. however there are younger prehistoric depictions of braids from everywhere, even Australian and American aboriginals were sometimes described as having a hair style resembeling braids upon contact .. so my conclusion after literal weeks of sifting through articles and art-pieces and online museum libraries is, braids or similar tightly woven hair was either invented by every culture on the planet, or was literaly invented by pre humans and passed down to humans because everyone that has hair like us on the head either needs a good way to cut it or a way to controll it so it doesnt get in the way and gets you hurt .. I should have documented what I did and published it somewhere .. was rather interesting .. so most likely the earliest hominids used braids (if their hair grew similar to homo sapiens) because even the best stone tools would not be very good at shaving the head or cutting hair
@@kaalesrex2933 Plenty of braided hair in Ancient Roman and Greek sculptures available on the internet, just google: braids in ancient greek and roman sculptures. At least you dont have to guess with those since artists from Greece and Rome were very good.
@@11BscoutNG Wrong! Yasuke was Oda Nobunaga's sandal bearer. Yasuke was given many of the respects and rights of a Samurai, however he was NOT a Samurai. The Samurai were a class. You were born into the Samurai class. Sometimes, though very rarely (relatively), one COULD be made a Samurai. There is debate on whether Oda wished to make Yasuke a Samurai (like Oda did with Toyotomi Hideyoshi), but other Samurai balked at it. Regardless, Yasuke wasn't of the Samurai class. Ever.
Yasuke was a black samurai, he was given the honour by the shogun because he was impressed by his height and physical prowess. Take a fkn history lesson.
What's stopping black millionaires and billions from making movies they want to see about black heroes and history instead of demanding everyone else change stories to please them?
As a black person myself, I don't. I believe it's just that, with as many people in the world as we have, a lot of stupidity comes with it from all angles. It's not just great minds that think alike. Many bad minds do as well, and they are at their most dangerous when huddled into groups based on anything they have in common aside from a hobby or anything peaceful.
Imagine being mad at Japanese history for there not being other people other than the Japanese... nobody gets mad at there being no Chinese people in African history...
It's cause they almost never even consider Asians as a marginalized group even though there have been major hate crimes well documented towards Asian minorities, including all the horrible shit that happened in Hawaii during World War II. Watch the Doctor Phil episode when he brought on Candace Owens, the professors even admitted that they give affirmative action for Minorites but exclude Asian students im just like that is fucked up. Especially there's a huge community in certain parts of California with struggling asian families living in bad conditions but the libs are just like nah forget about them.
Imagine not knowing that the story being spoken of has a white character in which means there is other people besides Japanese but you still make an unrelated comment anyway. Now imaging no one cares.
As a Martian it would be quite nice if they added us in too, I don’t see many Martians nowadays in Japanese Movies or love stories. Greetings from Mars.

I guess the Vikings and other Europeans who always wore braids thousands and thousands of years ago before even encountering blacks folks didn’t know they were “culturally appropriating” at the time. Lmao.
That moment when braids weren't used as a fashion sense, but on managing long ass hair or beard in a time where haircuts weren't optional and when people go on long excursions (like expeditions or war) without bathing.
@@ninairish763 I think it has to do with the fact there was no writing system back then, and we barely knew how to make fire. heck we didn't even call ourselves humans, and there were more than 1 species of humans back then.
Funny fact Vikings did actually encounter black people on their expeditions to the Mediterranean, they called them Blue people, because for the vikings blue was a synonym for exotic, although I don't know if they ever brought some with them, and if they did it would be too few to be the Los Angeles-like version of medieval Europe or medieval Europe-like fantasy worlds that we keep seeing on television nowadays.
For about 4 years all commercials in Germany suddenly had 30-60% black people in it. I even saw an advertisement with a group of black people without a single white person. In a country with about 3% black people!! The woke idiots in media are desperately trying to manipulate and brainwash us!
Dude, you are SO Zfteakin' accurate. They are in almost every commercial despite being only 13% of the population. Hispanics are a larger population they still are rarely showed.

Seriously? If you are watching Chernobyl and what you take away from it is that it doesn't have enough black people in it then, I'm sorry, there must be something majorly wrong with you...
At least, there are black frogs in Chernobyl though. Scientists found out that the frogs were evolving their skin from green to black as a protective measure against the radioactive environment in Chernobyl.
Oh I'm sure we can dig up some obscure record of a Japanese person in Africa during that general time period, thus justifying us putting Japanese people into every movie about African history.
The braids that black people refer to are the ones that start from the scalp and take up the entire head. They also have something called "cornrows". The European style braids are, luckily, different.
@makeuthink2120 so the same thing but done a bit differently. And they don't own them. A person who is angered by seeing others enjoy and utilise aspects of their culture is mean - spirited in the extreme and not someone I'll be listening to. Cultures are shared by their very nature
@makeuthink2120 I have had all kinds of braids, including the ones you're talking about. I got them done regularly by an amazing black woman who could do the most jaw-dropping things with hair. She was a single mother living in Glasgow and her only source of income was doing hair. The population of Scotland is more than 96% white. More than half her customers were white. People like the woman in this video would see her out of work. Cultural appropriation is nonsense. Unless done to mock, adopting Cultural aspects is a positive thing
Yes, a life of servitude in which you are bound to a feudal lord, and if you are dishonored, you have to skewer yourself. Such a history everyone wants to be a part of!

Don't fall for it Misha, there was no black samurai. The samurai were all of noble descent and the tale of "the black samurai" is manipulated, he was just a sword holder, that means he was a servant of Nobunaga
Well, Samurai does mean "servant", retainer, and given Nobunaga's general attitude towards tradition I could consider Yasuke a samurai/bushi de facto, but not de iure. An interesting exception, but hardly the norm.
@@dariovirga7711 that doesn't change the fact that samurai were of noble descent, it is very hard to think that a foreigner and a slave at that became a samurai under Nobunaga. There was just one white samurai and you don't see white people asking for white samurais in the show, this is strictly a problem with black people
@@irvingguzman2612 I'd argue about the Nobilty thing, as we have upstarters such as Tokichiro Kinoshita/Hideyoshi (who was pretty much a nobody) or Saito Dosan (former oil peddler). And I do believe that at least one other westerner, a Frenchman, got the title of samurai during the Bakumatsu period (though given the time period it was pretty meaningless by then). Personally, I don't think that the term "samurai" is a monolith that had always meant the same thing. Of course, as I said, Yasuke was a unique case, so I do not expect to see black/european samurai everywhere if it doesn't make sense.

What about the crime statistics in the blackest part of Africa? It doesn’t make sense that racial homogeneity is worse than diversity. Diversity has its pros and cons but like anything unchecked it will become a cancer if not taken care of.

We did not steal the land - Europeans didn’t come in the dead of night and said “snap” - we got the land. We fought wars for it and won it. Just like EVERY other country in the world.
And of course those -noble savagages- peaceful and democratic communities of Indigenous Americans NEVER fought wars over that land. Any more than they commited genocides, took slaves, practiced human sacrifice, or even slightly disrespected neighbouring cultures.
I'm a Japanese and I've never had a question or a complaint about why there are no Asians in Wakanda. And I love Afro Samurai very much. They can create any new fictional story in any world in any era with black people anytime they want instead of complaining or tampering with the work of other creators who have already built their fan base, why don't they?
The mind, the culture, the civilization, the nationalism toward the people who share significantly similarity in DNA with them, and an ethno-state like most country in the world used to be, or still are... This just seems like black people trying to claim another group of peoples culture. This screams of cultural appropriation. And the guy in the first clip says he’s just focusing on Japan at the time so he would otherwise, I assume, claim other Asian cultures as really coming from African people and their cultures. So he’s saying Asian cultures all came from African ones and thus they own it. At leas that’s how I see that first clip.
This is a huge trend online black people trying to claim thing from or other cultures entirely and it almost always European cultures or Asian cultures they try to snatch from. I've seen full length, with "Evidence" articles from "Black culture" sites claiming shit like "Vikings were mostly black" "the first viking was black" "Medusa was a black woman" "Zeus was black!" "The great replacement how Europeans stole our history for their own" Black American friend of mine has slowly become of obsessed with this shit ever since he got sucked into his "True Israelite" religion and popped out a kid he shares a lot of it to his feed. The last one he shared being about how white Jews today are imposters who stole the Jewish faith from black Jews. Comments on the articles and videos are usually full of pretty hardcore racist black folk you can also always find woke folk encouraging it and stocking the comments sections.
I just find it so disrespectful that they can’t make anything about African history. Instead they give Africans roles for European or Asian stories. Like Bruh, they have the biggest continent with a lot of history. Make something original!
Black people in America like Anime because sentence structures in a language they cannot speak in Africa end in vowels in a similar way to a language they cannot speak in Japan? Sounds perfectly logical to me.
Well for one thing *Ogun* is not similar Shogun, which were the equivalent of a duke in Medieval Europe: Japan's feudalistic political system made it necessary for military leaders to provide protection to Daimayo's and the emperor in exchange for agricultural land for farmering and sedentism. Ogun is the _Orisha_ Yoruba mythology and religion is the god of battle, his emblems are an axe and iron, and the name Ogun is not in any way related to _Shōgun_ in the Japanese language, which is linguistically completely different, in regards to it's syntax, grammar, inflections, phonology, morphology and case system. The Shōgun class emerged in the 12th century from one of the most noteable lineages in Japan the Fujiwara. The Japanese are also derived from the ancient Yayoi people genetically, that originally came from Korean peninsula about 2400 years ago, and arrived in Japan around 300 B.C., which was already inhabited by the Jōmōn thousands of years before the Yayoi arrived in Japan, and were of some ancient north Eurasian extraction, meaning Siberian: Mongoloid is the correct racial classification for the Yayoi ancestors of the Japanese, and no they were Negroid.

The "space" thing is interesting. The NHS in the UK insists on sending staff on diversity training. A friend told me that part of that was to accommodate the "fact" that Caribbean people tend to invade what British people think is personal space. I.e, they stand too close. Odd that

Lots of Colombians are white, black, asian, the majority is mixed tho. isn't braids in hair originally from the Vikings and Scandinavian places, or am I missing something somewhere?
