OMG!!!!! So passionate !!!!! This is simply EXTRAORDINARY EXCELLENT!!! I almost felt like I was Holding my Breath until the final AMEN. Even the audience members understood to be completely Still so that this amazing Singer could bring back to live this moment in Otello, No one even coughed ❤❤❤❤BRAVA BRAVA BRAVI.
the journey this woman took us on.. speechless. her voice is out of this world. my, such control and personality. an angel lives down in this woman. she is gifted. you can tell she has a story and she truly loves what she does. thank you, for this masterpiece.
Whenever I hear Ailyn Perez, de Los Angeles (who I was fortunate enough to hear) is also the first name that springs to mind.

Mariana Ramos - Look at her face and listen to her voice. She IS Desdemona. Outstanding.
To me this is the definition of vocal musicianship and artistry, her voice (and face!) is so incredibly expressive and her voice is so very beautiful and dark-toned.
I hope one day to master the art of singing interpretation that this woman possesses.

Good actress and stage presence...reminds me a little of a young Victoria De los Angeles.

She does look rather like De Los Angeles and suggests her fragility also, but her voice lacks DLA's crystalline beauty imo, although Perez makes up for it with a bit more heft. I detect some spinto possibilities in her voice--e.g., the outburst at "Ah, Emilia addio!"

Does anyone know whether Emilia knew that Otello was going to kill Desdemona and her husband's role in turning Otello against his wife?
Shirley Rombough in the interpretations of the opera I have seen she strongly suspects Iago is up to something (as she does confront him in the second actand he tells her to shut up, she gets him the white handkerchief). But no I don’t think she knows the full extent of what will happen.
I don't think Emilia is aware that Otello will kill Desdemona. She does know that Iago is up to no good.
oops. She's married Stephen Costello, whose local recital was okay.
She's kind of a contradiction. When not singing -- she's like a young girl who's never known pessimism. When singing -- there's nothing else to do except listen.

This pianist is so dull. He plays everything like chamber music it’s awfully irritating . Perez does a fine job. It’s all very careful but there we are .
