dog fights scare me so bad. it technically wasnt a dog fight but i did have to break up my roommate's cat and my other roommate's dog one time n it was awful...
So I'm in a world music ensemble group where we play music from Ghana Africa. Our middle school music teacher leads it and we're all very close (we're in highschool), so he asked us to watch his puppy. He needed puppy sitters because his other dogs would attack the puppy. One time my best friend was puppy sitting, and they attacked the puppy. My friend picked her up and stood on a chair but they were still trying to get her. She had tons of horrible bruises and scratches for weeks; it was horrible. I also puppy sat and had to break up a fight, although not as bad, and even that was traumatizing, so I can't imagine what that was like for you Maya.

maya you are genuinely the person i want to be. I would love to do things like this and work with animals, but im not sure how to get started as a highschooler right now. Is there anything I can do now to futher my education?
i'm definitely not maya but i am going into plant + animal conservation and am attending my first year of college this next fall! the best advice I have for you is to seek out either internships or expos / conventions where you are able to talk to professionals in the field and network a bit (also definitely make sure they are paid! how well you're doing in school won't necessarily be a positive or a negative either, as long as you're passionate you will find the right opportunity for you.) if you're more so looking for summer experience, 4-H and WWOOF have lots of opportunities to either help out on farms or with educational programs. as far as college goes, finding the major that best suits your needs is really important and something i hadn't considered until application season. there is no "right" way to go about becoming a conservationist. i'm personally planning on studying biology with a minor in environmental studies, but you could go the agricultural route like maya instead, or even do environmental engineering, chemistry, etc. i wish you the absolute best of luck on working with animals, you will be a much needed voice for them!
Start volunteering at local animal sanctuaries and zoos! Its a great way to learn more about animals and how they interact with us :)

My guess is they are turkish or middle eastern names since thats where Anatolian Shepherds are from.
