Russia and Prussia are two completely different things. Prussia was a German state located on most of the North European Plain, also occupying southern and eastern regions. It formed the German Empire when it united the German states in 1871.

It is crazy that this, not so old video shows a value rather close to the minimum wage around $840 net $1100 gross.

Strangely enough, as historical Polish lands show, maps already show when the Germans took over half of Poland. As a country, we have existed as Poland for much longer, while Germany was a conglomeration of independent principalities and Germany came into being as a country very late. Hardly anyone mentions that the first settlements in Germany up to the Elbe River were founded by Slavs, e.g. Berlin. It was mentioned that relations between the countries were sometimes bad and sometimes good - oh, they were not always bad, the Germans always attacked Poland. The report is very polished. An interesting fact is that in Germany there is a region where the names are bilingual because these areas have been inhabited by Serbo-Lusitanians - i.e. Slavs - for a very long time.

But we must also remember that there was no such thing as nationalism or national identity until the 18th and 19th centuries. In Poland, it may have been a bit earlier. It wasn't 'Germans' who attacked Poland, but their rulers. These were struggles between the nobility, and the people were mostly just loyal to their kings and connected to the culture of their region. Just like Germans who were brought to Poland to areas like Wrocław by our rulers. They mixed with the Poles, bringing their culture and language, but became loyal subjects of Polish kings and later built mausoleums in honor of the Piasts.
We had various relations with different German lands at different times, depending on who was in power. With the HRE, we had quite good contacts; for a time, Prussia was our vassal, but of course, we all know what happened later. Saxony's case is interesting, as it varied over time. But during the partitions, it became a refuge for Polish exiles and supporter of the Polish independence movement. They gave support for our uprisings against Prussia, Russia, and Austria. I remember that after Poland regained independence, they even wrote something like 'finally they don't force us to be enemies.' Oh, well... at least for a moment.

Poland and germany never had good times between each other, never. Allies we're only on the paper and that is disputable. Simply said, germans always have regarded Poles as untermenschen (german term).
Men die sooner than women because they choose to. Nagging is one reason for that.
Also there are some inaccuracies in that presentation. Poland is much safer than germany regardless of the size of the population. Poland spends more than 4% of GDP on the military(not as it was said 2). The size of our armed forces is bigger as well. Poland also has better digital infrastructure. As for trains, it is connected to the size of population because the size of the population makes train transport profitable.

Amy, life expectancy rates fluctuate due to many things. Some things are: healthcare, quality of food, income, pollution in the environment, stress levels, education and living conditions. Some one in Hawaii might live longer than someone in Mississippi due to: better climate, better quality of food, less air pollution, less water pollution, less chemicals in the food, etc.

Prussia was a kingdom formed at the Baltic coast region of the same name, after the former Teutonic Order state in 16th century. First it was a vassal to Poland (up until 17th century), then became its own entity and eventually (by wars & careful political maneuvering) managed to take over the former HRE - forming the German Empire of 1871. It's modern successor would be Germany.
Russia used to be called the Duchy of Moscovy, which eventually formed into the Tsardom of Moscovy and - around 1700, under Tsar Peter I the Great - assumed the name "Tsardom of Russia", to link itself up as the "inheritor" of the historical heritage of the Kievan Rus (modern day Ukraine, but at the time it was more an entity comprising the territories of present Ukraine, Belarus and Russia).

Poland and Germany are completely different countries from the point of view of a German or a Pole. From an American's point of view, they are very similar. Of course, each of the smaller countries such as Romania, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Moldova, Hungary will also be similar because it is Europe - of course with the reservation that Romania is not that small and the Hungarian language is not similar to its neighbors.

    Few corrections:
Russia is a name founded in a a region of Ukraine ~900 a.d. - Kievan Rus, Belarus in north and Moscovians further north, so u can say Russians feels Ukrainians ; ) and stole their name.
Splitting houses i think is mostly between Germany and Netherlands, i think there is none between PL-Ger.
    in PL:
Prussia were mixed Germans and Poles + more nationalities, it`s not Russia
    Catholicism - is ~70%, active ~45%. It's falling a lot
Military GDP is 4,5% and growing
Money - yes, but it`s much more expensive in the U.S. So what matters is what quality of life u can buy for what u have.
PL is much safer than Ger. imo.

Russia is a country that grew out of the Principality of Moscow, its territorial conquests began in the 16th century. This country has less than 600 years of history. Prussia was previously inhabited by the Balts, then an estate of the Teutonic Order, then a fief of Poland, then an independent kingdom, then a component of the German Empire, which they actually created themselves. Two completely different countries when the Prussian Balts killed Saint Adalbert over 1,000 years ago. It was where Russia is today that only the wind blew.

All our (Poland's) problems are down to one man's decision - the Polish ruler Konrad of Masovia invited the German Teutonic order to fight pagan Prussian tribes that bothered his state in the North. Teutons have just lost wars in Jerusalem and didn't have a home. They did fight the Prussians but they stayed put where Prussian tribes used to be, formed their own state there, and they became a new problem for the Polish ruler. Eventually Teutonic State appropriated the name Prussia as well. Without Konrad there would be no Teutons here, no German Prussia or German settlement there. No German claims to Danzig. Without Prussia, Germany would either not unite, or it would unite under Austria. There would never be a first or a second world war. Konrad, what did you do? If one could go back in time, one should go that boardroom meeting that decided to invite Teutons lol.

you are confusing post -Teutotnic order's Prussia with Kingdom of Prussia. Kingdom of Prussia (the one that unified Germany and took part in partitions) is actually Brandenburg (Berlin) - Branderburg nobility inherited lands in Prussia and later adopted the name leading to confusion.

    This clip had some mistakes.
1st - Germany is the 3rd largest economy in the world. It overtook Japan's place, in 2024.
Not because of a sudden growth of the German economy. But because of the decline of Japan's.
2nd - Germany did spend in deed more than 2% of it's (very high) GDP for national defense.
... the show numbers from the clip are from 2022,so they are arealdy two years old.
They had been taken in a time when Germany had to rebuild its economy after the Covid pandemy.
And Germany granted asylum to 1.2 million Ukrainian refugees, in that year.
That's the reason why the numbers of inflation and of unemployment were so shockingly high.
The current inflation rate is at 1.9 %
And the current unemployment rate is at 3.4 %
