Van Gogh once said “If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint', then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” I have found this to be genuinely helpful advice.
Can we all just appreciate how great this man really is? You’re teacher in this world and it’s so great you share your ideas and tips to everyone. GOAT
At the beginning when he was talking abt how the sample inspired him, I was thinking abt how cool it is how it can turn into a whole new vibe from an idea, even sampling big parts of things it can feel very different in the end. Very cool part of producing. A lot of great tips in here as always! Keep these up nick ‼️
i appreciate that. i also think the "music industry" is kind of a cloudy space and funny term i just like to look from an outsiders view at music in general
@@boyarmira yeah, i see how that could come across as disingenuous considering the amount of shit you see attached to the “music industry”. just music in general is what i meant bc the amount of time it takes to create your own distinct sound where someone knows who produced/recorded on the beat/song within a couple seconds of pressing play is very sought after.
dang… i’ve been looking for a video that isn’t super simple that just quickly walks through the process of someone who’s good at this. beautiful stuff. thank you!
what I find helps is switching up the types of melodies I make because its easy to be creative when you are trying something newer and not something you’ve done before. Or just find things to sample on youtube
Nick you’re doing great, it’s so nice watching someone I consider one of the best producers in the world making beats exactly the same way I do, just trying to find something that sounds cool and finish the idea. You’re doing something good, want you to know that
It's crazy how we’re basically getting a masterclass from someone who has achieved heights in music that we dream of everyday. Thank you soo much bro 😭🥹
You're name rings bells, but here you are giving tips to people trying to get started or inspired. You're doing a good deed out here and we all appreciate what you do.
took a long break from beats and i think that helped me gather a lot of ideas but i love the technique of listening to samples as inspiration, definitely using that thanks
I love that you added that clip of Pharrell talking about creativity. creativity comes to you, not the other way around. Just sit down and enjoy the process with no expectations!
Much love is going out to that Smurf in the bottom right corner! Got me into beatmaking a couple of years ago, since then music got me into places and I love it :P Keep it up!
The streams and these short vids been helping me hella new ideas and im back to really enjoying making music again all thanks to you brother, thankyou!
Nick i just wanted to say thank u so much for all the videos. Its really really helping me in thinking on new ways to make music. Really appreciate it bro❤️
My biggest issue is i have a nice melody at work in my head...its usually a piano melody and i got no way to jot it down. I have fl Studio mobile on my phone but if i pull it out ill get sent home. My point in saying all this is to agree with you!! Everytime i make a beat im jotting down what im hearing in my head and it helps me stay energetic. Thanks for posting Nick. I appreciate you.
If you have a blockage I think it is essential to listen to music, and when you listen to new songs much better, that is what I usually do, and it helps a lot
yezzir fire 🔥 i don't blame you for finding loops to inspire or watching your favorite producer. I have to keep myself motivated to keep going and to not burn out easily. Doing this tip you showed us will definitely help change ways of making melodies 🔥🔥 Preicate it
People who hate on Splice or Samples are just being narrow-minded. It’s like a big record store. Always cool to find some missing piece or ideas for your track. Apologies if I don't have a gospel choir on speed dial or a $600 Kontakt bank lol
It’s been a solid 4 months since I’ve even touched FL or my setup in general. Got this in my recommended and I think I’m ready to get back to it. Preciate you Nick 📈
best thing u can do during beatblock is searching any retro songs like gta vice city radios and trying to make something similar, its nice to experiment if u cant do trap or smh u like to do often
Nick-Sensei, you should open a producer school, it would be the first school I would go to without forcing myself 😃😃. Your tips are really helpful, it's like a short meditation watching one of your videos :))

The method using the patcher only on the eq and how you manuevered that was fire bro you should make a video just on that. This fucking beat is crazy ❤🔥
@@boyarmira yooo thats crazy i wasnt expecting you to respond at all, keep up the great stuff man fr fr, any shot i can send you beats to listen to or songs, id really appreciate any feedback on them
Hey Nick, I notice in some of your tutorials you use earbuds a lot when making beats, is there a reason you use earbuds? And do you try to take care of your ears when exposed to loud music for a long time?
they have the microphone built into them thats why i like them. i also try not to cookup on max volume as much as possible. i save the really loud volume for the car or concerts
Sometimes even just watching a producer cook up can help with beat block I’ve noticed.
thats rly true too
Fact 💯
So real
Because beat block stems from lack of inspiration!!
💯
