- The Steep Canyon Rangers with guests Billy Strings, Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury, and Jason Carter perform "Knob Creek" at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival 2019 in Oak Hill, NY. Brought to you by Less Than Face Productions. Audio by Bill K.
I have always loved it in Bluegrasss, and especially other Genre's of music where everyone gets a shot at a solo! So much respect int his music, so much talent and so much enjoyment! (Plus, Billy + Steep Canyon Rangers + Travelin McCourys, what a show!!)
Billy looks appropriately awed yet remains more than capable in the presence of greatness...carry on gentlemen, carry on.
Bluegrass jazz, heavy metal slow jam, harmony without vocals..lift me freakin' higher!
Nice assist from Nicky on Jason’s mic! Would love to see more Billy Jams with these guys. Great stuff.
We need much more of this!
Excellent !!!!
Lot of strings happening here in this great jam👍✌️😊🙏🏼
Thank you so much Billy and the whole band. Absolutely and utterly incredibly beautiful too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Oh goodness, yes I just listened to this 4 times in a row....damn boys! 💚💙💚💜
This flipping version is so fun to listen to AND watch. This was fire. More of this super group please!

Top shelf musicians have a great time together!
Nicky did a fantastic job. Wish I had been there. Really like the Steep Canyon Rangers, Travilin McCourys and Billy Strings.
Oh, man, Miles Davis would love this. Jamming at the edge of the Eternal.
This is so GREAT. Love the gypsy vibe here.
both bands plus billy= heaven. i was especially glad when the fiddler from steepcanyon rangers adjusted the mic for jason carter. imo ronnie mac is the best mando player in the world. top notch bands here. i didn't even mind the drums.
The mando player at 5:12 just loving that transition into the groove by the banjo and rhythm. Absolutely killed it.
I would love to have even half of the talent these have I would be the happiest man out
SO GOOD !!!
Killer Jam.
WOWWWWW
FIRE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love ya Lisa ....
Nice Jam...
The mandos!
Pretty good band.
🔥🔥🔥
Wow
Loved the drum / bass solo.
Is that Gregory House on the Banjo? This was recorded near the hospital.
Was that Mr. Bean playin mandolin??
I didnt know chuck norris played banjo
That aint Chuck but hes a badass like Chuck on the banjo
The Five String Flamethrower!
No Steve Martin? That's interesting. I was hoping to see Billy and Steve go at it. Can you imagine dueling banjos with those two?
I was thinking the same exact thing. lol
Robbie McCoury (or Billly even) vs Steve Martin.....LMAO. He doesn't play with them very often. Cool when he does however Graham Sharp never leaves the stage though ;) I don't think he's technically in the band. More of a stand up/music show when he's there. Fun.
@@JohnMartin-pp8nl Who is not technically in the band?
Steve Martin. Well, I guess Steve Martin's band is the Rangers when he does play, but he's not in the Steep Canyon Rangers.
@@JohnMartin-pp8nl I see. This is the first I have seen of them without him.
Drums??
It's called bluegrass. The strings are the percussion.
The drums were added a great dimension here. Bluegrass purists are a small-minded lot.
And??
billy strings was good but this is not bluegrass
Just good music being played at a Bluegrass Festival. About 20 years ago at Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival. the traditionalists were kvetching about Bela Fleck AND Sam Bush playing their brand of Music/Bluegrass in Ancramdale. Imagine that. Bela and Sam. I live with it and I love it.
And.....
True but I really like it still.
Whaa, whaa. This music is better than bluegrass, by far.
Boo, hoo..
