Great lesson. The usual mix of technical info, demonstrations and Stu's gentle persuasion that says 'You can do this...yes...YOU!" As ever the tips and tricks are transferrable and (for the way I like to learn) Ukulele Zen is the way. Thanks again Stu.
Thanks for watching Martin - glad to hear you're willing to step out of your comfort zone - bravo! Hope you'll subscribe for more lessons & music. Wishing you all the best and lots of fun on your music journey.
Colorful chord crayons!! What a great phrase to describe them!! I do think in terms of colors, yes...and I see you do too :) Very glad to have met you...in person someday I hope.
Hello, thank you for this great tutorial! I cannot find the songsheet on your page and i would love to have it. Thanks for your help and wish you a nice sunny day !
Hi Stu, I was looking for the tabs associated with this video but they don’t appear on your website anymore. Is there any way to get them. Great videos!
This video was made before I launched my Patreon site in Nov 2018…there’s an index of posts at the Patreon site I’ll share with you - message me via the Patreon portal and I’ll send it right away!
No specific strum is shown...feel free to follow your instinct. DU DU and DDU UD will work great. I know that seems vague, but this lesson is more about the left hand chords - in the future more specific rhythms will be shown. Thanks for watching
Stu, I love your videos and instruction and it helps me learn new techniques. That said, you drive me nuts because, after a very detailed tutorial, you tend to end your videos with a fast run-through which includes things that you never cover! I find myself getting caught up; trying to figure out what the hell you did! In the case of this video, the turn-around was never covered and I'm frustrated trying to put it together.... just sayin'.....
Hi Brian, Thanks for watching and for your valuable feedback - it really helps me - I want to serve you all better & better! When I show a "run thru" at the end of a video, the idea is to show how the ideas outlined are applied to a musical situation....and to give everyone a chance to practice grabbing & learning some licks plays in real time. In the part two video (editing it now) I'll be showing how that turnaround is played...for now is it possible to watch the fingers & listen to the sounds to copy it? I'll outline this very process in the future...it's a matter of listening carefully & finding it on the fretboard...easier said than done sometimes, but I'll share some shortcuts in the future....and clarify my intentions too. Thanks again for watching!
You rock. I've kinda worked through a turn-around of my own over that last hour; which sounds pretty good. In the end, your videos expand my playing and add flavor to my (otherwise boring) sound! Perhaps, by you not giving away all the answers, I'm forced to figure out a flair which is all my own....Thank you!
Bingo. That's my intention for sure...to offer enough pieces of the puzzle so motivated folks like yourself put them together on their own...an in the process discover some new ways to connect them too! This is the way I was taught... All that said, the part 2 video (already filmed) has more turnaround & solo ideas played slowly. Have a good day & happy playing, Stu
Salut Ukulele Zen, your 7 minutes video will make me work more than 7 hours ;) but it's so great to have this tricky chords, merci ! A bientôt pour la prochaine vidéo. PS : now I have to understand what does "subscribe a vidéo" means...
Merci Colin! Go slow & you'll get these under your fingers :) Thanks for watching...subscribing means that you click the "subscribe" button at the end of the video (or below the video window)...it means you'll be kept in the loop anytime a new video is posted. Enjoy & have beautiful day, Stu
