One of the reasons I have been a fan of your channel since before you got Max, is because you have a go at most things yourself. Bringing in a guest, every now and then, who has extra knowledge and experience has added to your channel. Great stuff 👍
Hal is a legend 👍 I never thought the new kneedle would do that, my experiences have only stuck open an pissed fuel into the motor. Great job guy's I learnt something new 😃
Luv it! Who doesn't enjoy troubleshooting! Well done Hal, and Mark finding a successful solution to that problem. Such a small issue can cause that annoyance. 👍😁
Thanks Bob, it was a enjoyable afternoon and your 100% right it’s always the smallest thing. Rebuilding carbs you need to be systemic and have all the checks and balances. The single carbie is easy compared to my six cylinder CBX1000 carbies that took me three days to rebuild and balance. 👍🏍 Hwy Hal
@@adventurehwyhubhwy5817 Hal, that's impressive. What a beast, the Honda 1000cc 6 cylinders, you're bringing back memories for me. Would luv to check it out sometime. 👍😁
@@bobdrakeford5731 yeah it was a beautiful beast, sadly I don’t have it anymore, but I am sure we could have many wonderful stories of the bikes we have owned and ridden in the past. 👍👍
Thanks Mark for a enjoyable afternoon sorting out Tango any time you need help with anything just give me a yell out. Have you had a chance for a test ride Tango??
Brilliant! So glad it's sorted, and s man who knows his carbs. Here in blighty we are just going over to E10 fuel so 10% filler idle jet increase one size and vacuum tune should correct the lean condition. If still lean at the top end raise the jet needle one position. Some carbs do not have adjustable jet needles so 0.5mm shim washers are the solution. Hope this helps those with carby bikes.
A very informative vid, its so good to share knowledge and experiences. Well done Hal and you Mark for a great production! You can now enjoy the ride....
Mark and Hal thanks for the great explanation about the carb. BUT ! You should have shown us the ¨fine¨tuning with some explanation, cause I know it could give trouble with running idle and full throttle or vice versa. Anyway, great vid and keep on educating (us) 👍
Hi, Cor, Info on the fine tuning Screw out the Mixture screw 1 & 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out, them drop the idle screw down just before the engine stalls around 800 to 900 RPM then adjust the mixture screw again in or out and listen to the exhaust note and the idle speed, if the idle speed drops screw the mixture screw the other way until the idle speed just starts lifts up again, this is your sweet spot and finally adjust the idle screw up to the idle speed of 1,100 RPM's. Hope this helps Give it a go its always a great way to learn. HWY Hal
@@adventurehwyhubhwy5817 Cheers mate! i've just put a kit through an old postie i picked up cheaply, and having similar issue! Appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise!
Well that was an easy fix, not something us mere mortals would be able to easily diagnose though. Well done Hal, carbies are the definition of black magic as far as I'm concerned 😅
Thanks Josh, it’s only taken me 55 years to master but still learning. Been watching you and Nat’s vids for years and wouldn’t miss one. Keep up the fantastic job guys. 👍🏍 Hwy Hal
Interesting video guys. My Postie only runs on choke, and was hoping it didn’t involve stripping down the carb! Does anyone know if there is anything obvious worth checking?
To be honest I don't know what Hal fine tuned it to, but it would be very close to: Idle Screw 1 and a half. Air Screw 1 and a Bit. Might do another video on the tuning of the carby! 👍

@@adventurehwyhubhwy5817 Yep been doing it for 40years myself, hanging idle too lean a mix.pilot jet too small or mixture screw not out far enough, or air leak. Bad needle and seat hard starting, boggy running ect.
Hi Mark, why is a diode necessary for the LEDs. Is this always the case, newer bikes, older? Is it a matter of experimentation. I'm wanting to put extra indicators with running lights. Cheers Trevor.

It's to do with dash indicator light. Will explain in the video when we do it! :-)
