So, in this video, we discuss a theoretical Vs match featuring Godzilla from Godzilla Planet Of The Monsters and Cloverfield from (SPOILERS) The Cloverfield Paradox.
This video will break down each monsters strengths and weaknesses in the process of coming to a conclusion in regards to "who would win a DEATH BATTLE!!!!"
A definitive answer is hard to reach because of how little is known about Cloverfield. However, I did my best to use the info provided from the Cloverfield movies as well as the DVD special features and BTS promotions to make the fight as analytical as possible. As for Godzilla Earth, I used Godzilla Monster Apocalypse and Godzilla Planet of the Monsters as my guide.
This is a pretty unfair fight due to Godzilla's indestructibility and all, but I figured because the general perception will be "Cloverfield will win because he's bigger" I'd try and do my best to counter that.

Yes Cloverfield does win in size comparison, but there is a phrase called "It's not size that matters, it's how you use it" Godzilla Earth IS smaller then Cloverfield, but it doesn't change the fact that Godzilla Earth has abilities to take Cloverfield down, Godzilla Earth could easily killed the baby no problem, and the adult would be just as easy, we seen that Cloverfield can be taken down by the military, so Godzilla Earth's atomic beam would slice up Clover's limbs like a lightsaber, plus he has a tail wipe that cuts through mountains, not to mention he can into Burning/Scarlet Godzilla at will, so Cloverfield would pretty much burn alive, Also I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that Cloverfield needs oxygen, and Godzilla Earth is a plant, so he doesn't need oxygen, so Cloverfield would pretty much screw himself over by growing over the Earth's atmosphere

Godzilla wins, always. Every single way to defeat it inolves intricate planning and it involves man made devices with specific functions used in a certain sequence. A Clover monster is not that intelligent. It will just use its body, limbs and natural abilities to fight. This will do nothing to Godzilla.

Most Godzilla can kill clover field. Final wars Godzilla survived an asteroid and took on multiple kuiju at once so probably could take out clover field because he could tank hits and shoot atomic breath. Shin Godzilla’s beams would do a ton of damage and legendary Godzilla is beefy and strong so he can do physical combat whilst still having atomic breath. If they could avoid getting stepped on then they would easily win. Clover is massive but extremely weak. What’s the point of being big if your not strong.

Don't forget the fact Godzilla Earth was able to destroy the Gorath asteroid and in this version (smaller than the original) has a diameter of 30 kilometers and a density similar to that of the moon.
So yes, Godzilla Earth is capable to destroy the moon.

The main problem I have with this match up is the fact we don’t have enough feats or ever see this fully grown Clover in action. All we know about it is that it’s large enough to break through the clouds. My best guess judging by its size is that it has to be at least really strong and durable for such a big creature.

I honestly think that any form of Godzilla’s atomic breath would kill Clover. Maybe not normal 2019 Godzilla, but burning Godzilla from 2019 would easily melt it with an atomic pulse.

I mean honestly. My favorite aspect of a monster movie, if done right, is seeing the desperation of the humans as they try and deal with a situation. Seeing the army and government officials desparatly try to figure out the situation and how to deal with it is exciting. It's also instantly relatable.
We as humans have instincts when it comes to this and we connect more to people who are trying to fix a situation yet fail. Movies like Predator, Alien, Aliens, Jaws, Tremors, Terminator, Night of the living Dead, and so on. I could go on forever talking about why this idea is so brilliant. It's something you see in the Japanese Godzilla movies, Shin Godzilla does it perfectly seeing how they react and all they try to prevent Tokyo from being destroyed.
Or one of my all time favorites are in Evangelion seeing the army at the beginning of the show throw liturrely everything they've got at the Angels and failing, seeing them panick is what makes it entertaining. Kong Skull Island is also brilliant with its set up, the goal is get off the island and bad stuff happans. Seriously it has some of my favorite moments out of the Monsterverse.
Star Trek was always good at this too back in the day, a group of people fixing problems. How do we fix it? Having family mellow drama is boring and not relatable to most people. Also it distracts from the main plot, keep it simple I say.

I think the cloverfield monsters height is a reach. There are easily low hanging clouds especially during storms that are not 6500 ft heigh. There could also be other circumstances like him standing on a hill/mountain to make himself taller so peaking out of the clouds wouldn't be that hard.
I think something a lot of people forget to acknowledge is that not only is Godzilla strong, even though he’s smaller, but he’s also intelligent. He doesn’t just focus on using brute force but is also strategic with his fights.

Well legendary took a meteor that caused a worldwide extinction. Dozens of nukes. And weighs in King of the monster only a thousand tons under Godzilla earth if I remember correctly. And since he moves much much faster then earth while being pretty much the same weight. That means legendary is physically stronger then earth since he is again moves the same weight around much easier.
But remember, 2019 was inky able to use his burning mode because
1. He had too much radiation on him
2. Mothra gave him sparklez power to create the burning godzilla

They shot his gills which is the same place the muto attacked him. It's a weak spot yes but they never hurt or scratched him anywhere else. And damaging his gills is out of the question for the large Cloverfield.
This is a monster that took a 15 Megaton nuke and nothing as well as dozens of others (yes radiation powers him but the heat and Shockwaves are still a feat). Ground Zero to a meteor that caused mass extinction and just went and slept to get his strength back.
Clovers power would scale with it. So he was like 150 ft in the movie. 6000ft in the other movie. That's around a 40x difference. Unless when it grows it grow exponentially more powerful. It's still weak for a kaiju. As nukes and extinction causing meteors are much more powerful then tank and fighter jet explosives.
