What’s the Point of Learning a New Language in 2024?

Knowing how to speak a foreign language might not necessarily get you a job anymore. Those days are over. But I think there's still value in learning a new language.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's hard to believe how much AI has taken away from us, many would say that learning a new language is not necessary anymore due to the great amount of information there's on the internet but still the cultural knowledge you get from the learning process is so amazing.

Nice video, thanks! I am amazed at how many AI english learning videos I now see on youtube and they get viewers!?! How can you learn pronunciation by conversing with an LLM? Adult language learning is a strange world where so many want a short cut to fluency, and I suspect many are seeing AI as that short cut.

People always want shortcuts. Flashy new tech always makes it seem there's a shortcut. And there isn't. And then the cycle repeats itself haha
