I am 34, father of 1y old twins, over the edge of burnout from work and family both, enjoying a 10min break and I have to thank youtube algorithm or whatever for bringing this video into my feed. I first watched Rafik's 2007 DMC routine at high school in 2008, it was my first turntablism experience ever (along with Netik who is bumping in the back). sadly there was noone around me who appreciated this genre as much as I did (or at all) so it had faded away eventually. I remember a time - many months actually - when I used to go the PC room of the dorm after dinner, when we were allowed to surf the net, took my Technics headphoneswith me and listed to the routines. these were the stuff back then that helped me get over those teenage crisis time and make it to another day. Now I just realized that I'll be able to show Netik Rafik and the other legends to my daughters, just a matter of time and they might be the first ones to actually share interest with me. Jeez what a time to be alive! Thanks for the reminder youtube!
The honesty of this era of turntablism is amazing. I thought turntablism using synths was good, but I think I prefer the flavor of turntablism that makes use of the quality of the original material. now. Thank you Rafik for your wonderful performance! I especially like the part from 2:31! And from 5:07 too. This is a place that utilizes the functions of turntablism better than anyone else, and I really respect it...! That's why this is one of my favorite songs.
Pincho desde el 2003 con vinilos. Scratch , Turntqblims, un poco de todo. Y my dj predilecto era craze.
Well, Netik did the win the previous year, used a lot of drumming. Maybe he took some of that as inspiration. There's a large difference between his '06 routine and this one.
word... and especially all this le jad routines sound all the same. boring and i feel no personality... Dont wanna hate because i see and respect all the crazy work!!! but i just dont feel it and my ears are annoyed :(
100% facts on this one. Part of the amazement was in the changing of the records. That is the fault line for any routine. Also it kept people fresh. Now everyone just sounds the same.

So good; most def one of my favorite DMC champion routines!
This is real Art / Djing with Vinyls - Straight 🔥
Yes but he cut his own vinyl.
@@davesargent7304why u mean by this? Like he has prerecorded sound what he wants on each record?
If thats the case this just became so lame for me
Wow ten years later this is still bad-ass!
Franchement toujours dans le tempo juste énorme et tous a l anciennes pas de dvs que tu vinyle
Imagine how long it would take to replacate this routine! I would need about 10 years lol!
Super!!!😍😍😍
カッコいい😆
Still bad ass, Rafik is tight!!!
So clean! ✊ awesome routine
That's such a ridiculously tight routine 👍
So he pressed his own vinyl?🎉

Not denying the skils but when people started using dub-plates dmc got boring
has a little bite of netik style, i think

LeJad produced the set for rafik and did one for Netik the year before so they both have the same producer.
His 2006 routine was better but Netik’s set was too good not to win. Rafik then hired the same producer and here we are with a win.
When DJ's started pressing their own records for the battle is when this thing got stale AF...
anttiskate Craze said he pressed vinyl for his last title win. That shit still was dope af 🤷🏻♂️
@@djsl210 the record craze pressed was his break record bully breaks. he didn't press it for himself.
deZusCHRIST I know I have bully breaks autographed by him
