I'm South African and lived in America for 21 years before coming back to South Africa 17 years ago. I enjoy watching your perspective of South Africa. I think it's honest and sincere. I have to add, living in America all those years, I encountered tons of people who genuinely believe that Africa is a totally cursed and messed up place. Let's hope your UA-cam channel will help shutter such ignorance and uninformed prejudices.
I think your pallets are used to processed, sugary stuff. In SA we have a sugar tax, more sugar and salt, more money you pay, for health reasons they had to be reduced. 😊You'll get used to it
The lack of poison 😂😂😂. That’s what’s important . You guys making me miss home. Im Stuck in the US because of the value of the dollar 😂😂😂. You are living the best life, better quality of life = SA , better Salary/Currency = USA . You got the best of both. Love you guys.
Me and you missing home 😊 Jozi to be precise. I trust Jessica’s palate’s Great video fam.
@@thandiedollar4789 yes Jozi hew 🥰
@@nthabisengmametja7031hey Nthabiseng , same here .I’m stuck in New Jersey for the sake of dollar . Eish , can’t wait to go home
They put more poison 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 FDA is coming for you guys
I'm here in Massachusetts. I miss the taste of quality spices and food from South Africa. I even miss American food chains in South Africa (isn't that insane?). I sometimes feel like McDonald's doesn't taste the same🤣🤣🤣
I love trying out novel products from different countries, always fun to appreciate new things and savor the best older things also.
Absolutely
You guys rock! You always nail it with the food comparisons. Your facial expressions are hilarious. 😅 I wish I could smash that like button a thousand times. Keep up the good work, guys, and I can't wait for more comparison videos.
Thank you so much
Lay's Thai Sweet Chili is the best flavor, especially on buttered bread
Appreciate the honesty 💯
Y'all should have gotten Simba chips instead of Lays. Lays here in SA is definitely mid compared to Simba Chips and other South African Chip brands.
We were trying American snacks only
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE ahhh, Okay. My mistake
You can find Dr. Pepper in Spar Supermarket. They usually have international drinks including Korean drinks
Thank you
I'm a huge fan of cheese Doritos. You guys should try the Bar One Chocolate, a bit sweet, but amazing. Thanks for this guys👌👍🙂😉
Thanks for the recommendation
The stuff you may not like is the ones with the less chemicals your palet is use to the junk
😂😂 probably
Skittles aren't made in SA they're imported from the uk or USA. If the purple flavor is different the usa one is grape and the British one is blackcurrant... also SAs new sprite is horrible since the sugar tax came into effect they decreased the sugar content and its like drinking sweet water. Love the content. Enjoy your stay
Sugar tax messed up all the fizzy drinks. Even the original ones they are not the same as before.
@@NGOPALESTINEin a way it’s doing it’s job. The tax was advocated for by healthcare workers to reduce the sugar consumption of people. And now the drinks taste bad so people drink less. Success!
Thank you
Dear Freedom Chasers.
After reading through comments on your other Videos I can say that I was not aware of what you faced in my country. I believe this is the only video I have commented on.
So I apologize on their behalf.
As a traveller, I have come across similar situations but I won't name the country (East African country).
I am happy that I did not insult anyone in your channel. I thought I was sharing information. I did that in good faith.
I was also not aware that there were such hard feelings between SA citizens and people from my country.
I will therefore have to leave the channel becuase further comments from me will not improve the situation.
Best of luck to everyone following and involved with this channel. Good Bye.
Lays are not great - Simba chips are my favourite. And American candy is a little bit gross. I spent 13 months in the USA not having any sweets😕
Fam can you also incorporate local holiday destinations, tourists attractions and holiday accommodations across the 9 provinces in your vlogs for your local and international audiences!
We nearing the festive seasons!
Try Stoney, a very sweet ginger beer soft drink.
Ok thanks
Taste the sprite in mcdonalds. They ALWAYS make it better
😂😂😂😂i knew it our Sprite is fake😂😂😂😂😀😀😀 just joking I'm sure it is because of sugar regulation our country have when it comes to soda drinks.
That’s probably better anyway. Sugar is not good for your health.
I f uwant dr pepper i can get it for you. Come to Krugersdorp and u will get more stuff
That Smokey BBQ Lay's is my all time favourite. I usually prefer crinkle cut chips to Lay's, but I'll take that BBQ Lay's anytime.
Spring onion is the best flavour Ever!!!!!
3:13 the fritos sweet chilli is my favourite i can sometimes eat the whole packet in 1 go lol😋
Yeah, they are very good
African food PERIOD is wayyy better than america food
Fresher/ natural , I'm from Chicago African native"
Absolutely
My favourite Doritos would be the one in the orange bag extreme cheese i think
But my ultimate favourite potato chips in South Africa are Simba
Yeah simba chips are good
I don’t be trusting people’s tastebuds who prefer Pepsi over coke.😂😂
Jokes
😂😂
Pleaseee Pepsi is the best😂😂
Between South Africa and Kenya, which country is good for American citizens. I want to relocate to Africa.
Both countries are great for American citizens, but we chose South Africa.
when you get to Cape Town, I want to introduce you to our local soda brand, Bashews - various flavours and they are all delicious
Jive ftw
Bashews in the car means a family picnic!
If you like corn chips… have you tried big korn bites?
We have not
Guys Lays Caribbean Onion and Baslmic Vinegar is the best flavour ever
Haven't tried those yet
Yeah you do get Dr Pepper here but it's in selected stores or Google where to find it
Thank you
I am not surprised about the sprite and the coke. If you were around before the stupid ANC and their stupid sugar tax came along coke products was much better. Now all coke products taste like water much less sugar, Smaller sizes and way overpriced. There are other sodas that are half the price and taste better. The only coke product that really still sell well is coke itself. They constantly drop the price of sprite and all the other flavors because it is horrible.
Less sugar is better we just don’t like soda that much
Less sugar is always a better thing, too much sugar isn't good for anyone.
That looked like a sugar free Sprite.🤣😂
😂😂 it wasn’t
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE but also l think you guys may have confused your taste palettes by trying so many things at go without a break. I doubt water helped.🤣😂🤣
@@neonkome8892for real. Sprite taste good. And it has a lot of fizz but yeah
the bigger Pick n Pay stores will have Dr Pepper, Reeses Pieces etc and next time you in Monte casino there is a store there near the movies that stocks American snacks
Hey family I see you are having a taste explosion and your taste buds are overwhelmed maybe in a good way or the is lack 😅anyways enjoy
Sparletta iron brew is pretty close to Dr pepper.
We might have to check that out
Pepsi Max beats coke hands down but it must be cold.
🎉😅💃🏌️🔥🇿🇦
You have to have tomato Fritos in South Africa
Okay
Are you sure you ain't certified food tasters guys?... Your palet and reviews are always on point....
I could watch you tasting all the kinds of foods all day... 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 thanks
For some reason I never liked lays. I'm curious of how the American or UK ones taste like
They aren’t that good
South Africa imports Dr pepper from the states.
Nice one fam....If you in Jhb or Capetown please keep warm we were supposed to be enjoying Spring and now its cold...Anyways stay blessed....❤
Will do
Cheese flavor review 4 me😂😂😂😂
What are the cons of eating beetle blood?
I'm surprised you don't like the Lays chips
😂😂
What makes you think red 40 is made form beetle blood? Google tells me it's made form petroleum-derived chemicals.
Still terrible
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE no doubt. I didn't even know that they made food coloring form bugs.
❤ great thanks I don't see my favorite Munchos Chips 😅
😂 will have to try those
I may be mistaken but I think Skittles and Twix, Snickers and Dr Pepper are American products, they are not locally made.
All The snacks we tried In this video are American made snacks
@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE I think she means that those are imported from the US. The others are American products but they're locally manufactured. 😊
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFESome are American brands, but manufactured here, hence the difference in taste. Others are manufactured in the US and then imported.
WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO PRETORIA. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you hopefully soon
we dont have sweet chilli fritos in america!!! we have honey bbq
Are you sure?
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE yes! I'm thinking the honey bbq here is famous amongst our community here like sweet chilli is there. We hace sweet chilli Doritos. Theyre the purple bag doritos
The pringles never taste good, especially the ones here. Always have a weird cotton after taste.
Yeah, I think that they are just not that good in general.
Beetle Blood😳
You should move to SA
Apparently MSG ain't bad... look it up
It’s a neurotoxin look it up
😂😂😂
Our sweets in SA are not as sweet as in the States, yes l didn’t enjoy the stacks in the States. Love your faces when tasting the snacks, so excited and accepting. ❤Some of these snacks l have never had and l live in SA 🤷🏼♀️
Healthy snacks next time.
😂😂 we will try
My husband work in america and i get lots of sweets from their. I think with what you grow up with. Have a lot to do. With what we like. Reeses are awful americans use it in everthing. i love butterfingers and payday. Love it. . i dont Like the granula bars. I cant eat that. Its to sweet. Go to woolies and buy the nutbars
Yeah, we will have to try those.
Another great vlog today 👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿
thats cheating salt makes chocolate better. should have done soda than chocs
Mouth watering 😋
😋
Hi Freedom Chasers.
Its nice to see you. I admired your East African Videos.
I am Kenyan and I know that the South Africans hate to hear that word.
They said it in the BBC video. The video was about Xenophobia in South Africa and it was done by a South African Lady. I have nothing against the South Africans and I admire some of their leaders. All I want is for them to face this problem head on. As I comment I remember the words of one Martin Luther King. "We will remember the silence of our friends". I can't simply keep quiet about South African Xenophobia.
Let me explain.
1. Their (South African) beef with the immigrants.
Those of us who have read history know that USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand were built by immigrants. Some of those immigrants were black people who made the country what it is today because of their labor.
Even today and in spite of the rhetoric from its politicians the Mighty USA is still welcoming immigrants through its lottery system (Green Card?).
And then there are categories for skilled people. I know Kenyans who were granted work permits in this category.
Same applies to Cananda, UK and Australia. Of late the UK has recruited a lot nurses and doctors from our country openly and sometimes using government agencies.
Now imagine it is South Africa recruiting you from Kenya only for you to be evicted from your house by a murderous mob. Now you understand why other Africans get raw nerves when you talk of your South African experience?. The South Africans are only respecting you because they know you are an American.
They know this from your accent. Otherwise they will call you Kwere Kwere (you dont talk like them) and chase you around. Maybe not. Ask the other Africans there about their experience.
The South Africans have legalized militias that can drive Black foreigners from their towns. Not my words. Check out the BBC film. Even the mighty USA has a more decent and humane of bringing our unwanted citizens back home.
2. Treatment of refugees.
Among the group they are evicting are refugees. If they don't like them they should hand them over to the UN.
In my own country we have the largest refugee camp in Africa (Dadaab). Are they saying that they are not aware that there is a UN Body that caters for refugees. Or maybe they dont respect the UN conventions.
Send the Zambweans and Mozambicans (the ones they want to exit) to the UN. Even Uncle Sam does the same. He has no problem with asylam seekers.
3. Abit of history.
During the apartheid days most of us Africans were asked to pay a price to liberate South Africa from Apartheid. We were asked not to import South African goods, not to travel (it was stated in our passports) and some African countries housed South African refugees. Their former president (Mbeki) lived in Tanzania. And the frontline states (Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and Malawi) would be bombed regularly.
The Mozambican president (Samora Machel) paid with his life. Yet these are the people they are harassing? Is it fair? South Africa is the only country with this dubious reputation of allowing mobs (legally) to take over the work of the police and immigration department. What if South Africa goes down and then they end up as refugees again? Who will they go to? Kindly ask them these questions.
I am South Africa and proudly xenophobic
Wrong platform for your issues.

The qualities of those American brands in SA will probably be on the low sides. Like the Coca cola and Pepsi will just be caramel mixed with water an sugar and Sprite soda . Please, be careful with what you consume in SA. Remain blessed!
We love you guys in Nigeria.
Thank you, sir and ma'am.
We love you guys too. Can’t wait to visit there.
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE You are most welcome.
Why are you talking on behalf of South Africa though? . Africans should be careful of what they consume in America because their stuff is 10x more poisonous than anywhere else. As an African you should always push to promote Africa, wether Nigeria or South Africa.
@@nthabisengmametja7031Please let it go my South african sister, trust me its not worth it😂😂😂.
@@nthabisengmametja7031 I promote Africa, sister. I am just saying what to expect when you are consuming American brands in Africa. They are usually of lowest qualities. That is correct. We aren't fighting here. Please, tone it down a bit.
