Funny story... I've had my Snarl since I was a kid. And as a kid, I noticed how that... (cockpit?) in his chest was the PERFECT place to store the extra two missiles. Now, all my TF's have been in storage for YEARS, but a few years back, I dug out my 1984-1985 G1's, with the intent of completing the '84/'85 collection. (Which I since have done.) But my Snarl was no longer complete - he was missing two of his missiles. Figured I'd lost them over the years (as I had with several others) Guess where they were, 20+ years later? Yep :Found them in his chest/cockpit!
I've always loved the Dinobots! I got Snarl for Christmas back in '85. I miss the good old days. There was nothing better than waking up Christmas morning anticipating what you were going to get!
In the G1 comics the Dinobots were a guerrilla commando from Cybertron (they were part of the original Ark crew). They were never built in Earth, but reformatted when Shockwave came looking for his decepticon brothers just after the Ark crashed 4 million years ago. All the original G1 tech specs were written by Budiansky, the original comic writer of Tfs.
Ah, my first G1 figure, and also my favourite! Turns out the original owner (Got him on Ebay) put the waist stickers on the hand, so now i have a snarl with butt stickers on his fists :D
How exactly can he miss Cybertron? He was built on Earth, he went to Cybertron once, and on the one trip he was captured, enslaved, and tortured in the Cybertronium pits. Awesome review btw
Yeah, Snarl's tech specs are based off his comic book counterpart who already existed on Earth. I like both the cartoon and the comics but the comics slightly more because they didn't reduce the Dinobots into comic relief like they did in the cartoon.
Simple! Snarl HIDES his intelligence to trick decepticons into thinking he's just a slow brute who gets weak at night, but when the chips are down?... Well, let's just say as a stegosaurus he's got 2 brains and they BOTH work! LOL
UltimateG1Reviewer, I hope it's not too late to say this, but I know you complain about most of the Dinobots having big feet and/or look clunky but the way I see it, the Dinobots are suppoused to be big and slow and their overall bulkyness only enhances those traits. Also, their big feet means getting them to stay standing is no problem at all.
Snarl is the only original Transformer I have left from my childhood. :) I sold all my transformers to a Comic Book Store many years go, but for some reason Snarl wasn't it with the others.
Much better known, not better. Marvel G1 (US and UK) comics were storywise greatly superior than the US series. Moreso, Hasbro knows that. That´s why the Primus and Unicron origin is canon, and the quintesson one was scrapped (along a lot of other series details).

I obsessed for this as a child!!!! LOVE it- Got Snarl for Christmas.... I bought him an extra missile launcher and the missiles sit in his chest.
Awesome!

always wanted them and i always wanted them to combine into 1 biggy :)
He was my favorite Transformer back in the day! Sadly my is pretty much in "played with" condition now...
Snarl was one of my favorites I had as kid. However, the toy was very fragile compared to the other Dinobot I had, Slag (or Slug for the UK/EU folks).
Yes, Swoop too.

How the hell does any Dinobot score 6 for intelligence!
LOL

Hang on to him :D
He's got a gun, sword and rocket launcher, and he's only rated a 1 in firepower? Who the hell makes up these tech specs? That was a gross oversight!
in some if not all episodes of the G1 cartoon the Dinobots were animated bigger than Optimus Prime.

I love it
so did I
did you review Gnaw?
No. He doesn't review tf toys that came out after the movie.
