@@lechprotean ?? You already know you’re gonna build the wall, like you know what your end goal is. You backtrack the plan (blueprint/steps), then proceed to lay each brick (complete the task) perfectly.

Spoken like a true stone mason. I think I heard Will say that his dad was a brick mason one time. But the line can be heard every day on the line. It is what a mason lives by. I worked on a crew for two years. Only black man on a crew of Hispanics and it was the best job of my life. The views from a top of unfinished structures and to drive by them all the time and know you had a hand in putting that together. This by far was my favorite episode.

It is not, the workout is the highlight of my day and i know im a lazy person. You dont need an army of nutritionists and trainers following you around all day, unless you have specific targets in specific timeframes, like when you are an actor.
Ppl should know ALL you need is 30-40 mins/day and about 2-3 years, and everyone has 30 mins. You dont even need to go to a gym or buy expensive equipment, just free information you can find online.

You truly gave DJ Jazzy Jeff the biggest bouquet of flowers by the level of the attention and the amount of adoration your choice of words showed. And if I recall correctly from others videos of hearing you speak of him, you had a strained relationship with your father.. in part due to the qualities that you picked up from him. All that to say, it is beautiful how important you made him and his lessons as 3rd party narration for this and your life. You have never stopped hearing his voice and you have never forgotten what DJ Jazzy Jeff made you feel to the point you made HIM the leading act. Each episode is inspiring. And to see you at the very top of that building, though another turn in your non defeatist cycle, to see you up there was worth the tribulation. Atop of the highest building ON EARTH. Wow Mann.

The issues I had with myself in my weight loss journey, was that doing cardio and lifting would mess with my mental because of the scale. I had to just stop lifting and do more cardio. 278lbs to 170lbs Drop the weight first then build my muscles. 170lbs to 184lbs currently. I love this series! Thanks for sharing all the hard work

Woah thats crazy man. Had a similar experience i got from 250 to 170 through cardio and strict diet within like half a year when i was 16-17 and was disgusted with the end result, just wobbly mass with no definition whatsoever. Since then hit the weights for 6 years and i‘m 185 for like 2 years now no matter if i diet or get bulky. Its dumb but still get slightly better by the day with weights etc.
Anyways big ups man sky is the limit, it really changes you troughout when you accomplish things like that. A confidence and energy is left behind that noone can ever take away from you. From being aftaid to go out in a shirt to being pissed when you can‘t wear one because it‘s too cold. Enjoy the roots of your hard work bro.

I would make a heartfelt recommendation to do resistance training, even if you feel you want to lose weight at any cost it is not worth it to do so in an unsafe way. When our bodies are in calorie restriction, it will break down muscle, unless we give it the stimulus to keep it (and the protein to maintain it). Focus on health and fitness and feeling good, because that number on the scales includes water, muscle, and bone -- and you want those things! Take care, hope this helps.

Self care, inside and out, is hard work. Period. I may only be a drop in a bucket and yet I am here to say: Thank you. For sharing your story, for sharing your journey, for sharing the truth of being the caretaker of a human body. I am enormously proud of you for having the courage to be real with not only the world, but also with yourself. Sometimes that is the hardest part.
Your story has given me more motivation than can be measured to keep working hard so I can get out there and encourage those in their own personal wall building. Your fathers wall and the lesson it teaches is now etched deep in my heart. I will lay each of my bricks to perfection.

It's a mindset where you can't enjoy anything unless you hit the goal. All that matters is the destination, and not the journey. Ok so many thoughts. Um first, yes Will always goes for the best of the best. So no surprise seeing you here Dr. Ramini. Love your work!!
      2. So how real are we gonna keep it here in the comments?
      3. 90% of the time i will be judging. But! Im trying real hard to like and believe this is authentic, genuine, real. So far this seems like a parody within a very well acted reality.
      4. Since I am investing time in actually watching this I suppose I will have some reactions in support of Will's hard work. Yes, its undeniable that the man works hard. But i cant help but say to myself "really man? You are actually complaining about your workouts and food you are paying professionals bringing to you? At the very best locations in the world? With all the equipment, space and people catered to you?" So thats why in my kind i say Nah! This cant be "real".
      5. Yes know Will is a real person with actual feelings and struggles and all that stuff. But I thought he was more in tuned and sensitive to the wants and struggles of people out there that have .01% of what he has. Money/privilege wise.
So for those reasons, Im sorry but I dont buy it... so far.

The hard bit is laying the brick ‘every day’ and deciding if you do or don’t, is the rest or the wall worth it, and processing the decision to give it up without self shaming. In that space you learn more of who you are and compassion for self and others. Other bricks and walls come along or have existed in the past and those successes are not diminished by other choices not to complete a task.
The story behind the bricks is one of a father teaching his son to keep going and thrive especially when the history of the ancestors is one of struggle and survival.

I have been losing 1.25 lbs a week for the last 7 1/2 months. It is heartbreaking when the scale doesn't move - it's always hard. Will was not obese when he started and it was definitely a huge challenge for him to lose 22 lbs. I want to give props to all the regular folks out there fighting this battle all on their own without being able to escape and have trainers and nutritionists. This was fun to watch - just know it's always hard and that he had so much help....I'm inspired to continue my journey on my own.

It reminds me of the importance of perseverance and the power of focusing on the present task and having a relentless drive. Your father’s lesson of laying one perfect brick at a time resonates deeply with the idea that success isn’t about grand gestures, but about consistent, small steps. This aligns perfectly with Philippians 4:13 and Mike Tyson's quote on hunger - it's the day-to-day efforts that shape our destiny. Keep laying those bricks, Will. Your journey is a testament to the strength we all have within us to overcome any obstacle, one step at a time. Much respect ...

It's interesting how Will set a goal to not be like his father when it comes to raising his kids, but still parents/motivates himself with his fathers voice...

Perspective is such an important part of all this. His body on week 1 is so many people’s goal. Everyone has their own personal best, I get that, push your limits and achieve your goals, yes! Also, it’s important to remember how far we’ve come as we prepare to push boundaries forward. Give yourself the rewards you’ve earned.

Wow, Will is a real human with real feelings and struggles just like us. Those comments were harsh. How many of them are living their perfect lives with no issues? I really hope he reads his memoir for audio book. I’d listen to his voice over and over. Thanks for filming this process Will. Your families gift of transparency and sharing your lives is beyond what we deserve. 💕

I identify with his goal obsession so much. Mine didn't come from my parents tho. They were terrible at that stuff. My driver was the opposite. Being an achiever started to make me feel powerful. In control. I get how unhealthy it was now that I've crashed and burned from the stress of it but I totally get this.

Same. I’ve never heard achievement based people talked about in this way. This is me too. Funny and goal driven but a huge emotional eater to deal with the stress.
