I've been listening to Zari in loop for two days now, I can't have enough of it. As an Italian who's been in love with Greece for many many years, I'm very proud of this entry, after years of disappointing choices from Greece. I don't understand why a lot of Greeks are disappointed. I know this song is not exactly bouzouki, but it's a very well executed modern take on ethnic pop, with sound influence from all over the Mediterranean. Italy and Greece will dominate Eurovision this year 🇮🇹🤝🇬🇷

Hi, Kostis. Here's the reaction of a Spanish Eurofan to Marina's song. Since I had high expectations of her, the first general impression was that I was missing something to completely fall in love with her song. But I immediately thought that with an appropriate staging, a choreography accompanied by perhaps some traditional Greek instrument and Marina's personality on stage, the proposal could be very successful. Also, I have no doubt that the fusion of Mediterranean and Latin sounds of Zari will be liked not only by southern Europeans, but also by the rest of Europe and part of America. 😉 Waiting for the live show in Malmö, at the moment it is in my particular Top5.

I have such respect for her and her music and her voice and her style and everything! It took me a few listens to fully understand but now I’m obsessed! I wish it was easier for me to sing along BUT it’s such an amazing song. I don’t know how casual people will enjoy it but I’m just so glad that she participated so that I could learn about her music! My thoughts from Finland. I had high expectations after looking into Marina Satti, she has this modern creativity and I think her music can be popular everywhere, Europe but also South America and Asia. I love the very Greek opening. Hngh now I miss Greece, lovely country. I LOVE that it is in Greek. Not a huge fan of the few lines in English. The singing tone is one of those that some people will dislike (it's often about what notes you are used to, different traditional music have different tones that others/mainstream have a negative reaction to - some people perceive it as "being off key" because it sounds unusual to their ear, I don't know much about music theory but it's also about from what note to what note you go, saw someone explain the "sliding from note to note" and how for example Indian music does it differently, I think this is why I've seen some people say this gives Bollywood vibes). She seems very cool. Can't wait to see how she stages this!

Probably the best greek entry ever, I love it. She is in my top 3. The mix between the traditional and modernity is great. I hear sirtaki, bollywood and urban sound and I am here for it. ❤
In a musical way this year is good, diverse and appreciated that, I'm glad musically is turning in a very good way but there's really few songs that i get at the first listen and this is one of this. I really liked it. In a serious contest (in we have seen in the last days that isn't) this should be top5 in juries bc is actually one of the most actual, modern and current songs of the contest.
I'm only annoyed that I can't vote for Marina in the 2nd semi 😒 But, hopefully, hopefully! I'll get to vote for her in the final 😁 Love the quirky uniqueness of this song and I'm glad Greece is going outside of the box and trying something different this year.

You are right. If I'm correct she's basically singing to a "lover"? That hasn't been giving her what she wanted from him, but I think she gives him one last chance to see where it will take them, and it's like rolling the dice with him. But the lyrics are not literal or in chronological order, it's like she's going back and forth, they are in the way that old Greek songs about lost (?) love would be written and I love that!!

I truly like the song and if it doesn't do well in Malmö it's because the audience isn't ready for Marina, It might just be a tad too progressive for the general public, that probably is one or more generations older than you are. Yes! The video is parody of the stereotypes that people have for Greece. As for the song is sounds like a love song (basically she's gonna give a second chance to someone who probably doesn't deserve it so it's like rolling the dice (ZARI = dice) with him. But because Marina's lyrics are never literal and on the nose, it might be open to interpretation!!

You are right. If I'm correct she's basically singing to a "lover"? That hasn't been giving her what she wanted from him, but I think she gives him one last chance to see where it will take them, and it's like rolling the dice with him.
But the lyrics are not literal or in chronological order, it's like she's going back and forth, they are in the way that old Greek songs about lost (?) love would be written and I love that!!

The lyrics and the postcard message take a whole different meaning if you see them from that perspective (" δεν μου έδωσες χέρι για να πιαστώ" "πέφτω και κυλιέμαι στο χώμα") but maybe I am projecting as a migrant Greek of many years... I truly like the song and if it doesn't do well in Malmö it's because the audience isn't ready for Marina, It might just be a tad too progressive for the general public, that probably is one or more generations older than you are. Kostis, what is the message of the song, lyrics and video? Is the video a satire on the perception of Greece?
Yes! The video is parody of the stereotypes that people have for Greece.
As for the song is sounds like a love song (basically she's gonna give a second chance to someone who probably doesn't deserve it so it's like rolling the dice (ZARI = dice) with him.
But because Marina's lyrics are never literal and on the nose, it might be open to interpretation!!

Επιτέλους κάναμε κάτι που κάνουν αρκετές χώρες εδώ και χρόνια ΡΙΣΚΑΡΑΜΕ, έθνικ τραγούδια έχουμε στείλει και θα ξαναστειλουμε αλλά πρώτη φορά ρισκάρουμε εθνικ μουσική και με πάντρεμα διαφορετικών γενεών μουσικής, τώρα για νίκη σε τέτοια χρόνια απίστευτα δύσκολο αλλά τοπ 10 θα το πολεμήσουμε και άμα το λατρέψει το κοινό γιατί όχι και πεντάδα, για ποιο πάνω το θεωρώ σχεδόν ακατόρθωτο όχι μόνο για το επίπεδο που έχουμε φέτος αλλά και γιατί οι επιτροπές δύσκολα στηρίζουν έθνικ τραγούδια, εννοείται θα σαεωσουμε σε Βαλκάνια κτλ αλλά στην δυτική Ευρώπη για τις επιτροπές πάντα δεν το βλέπω, τέλος πάντων είπαμε φέτος φτιάξε εικοσάδα και όχι τοπ 10... 😂😂😂😂😂.
