Dan this is worse than 2008. I could work as a RN (nurse) in 2008. Now it’s way worse. THEY (who’s THEY?) are shuttering local hospitals and units left and right. The woke are Managment in hospitals, HCFs, they only hire woke. Everyone fights. White men are pushed out. Patients are unhappy if they can get care. It’s awful. Our healthcare system is failing
😅

Well, I refuse to let my bank steal my money. I’m taking my entire $4.76 out today!
I'm keeping my money in my bank I belong to a small Bank. Everything is fine the stock market's at record highs I'm going to be riding off into the sunset
Haha! Great comment!
Hmmm, it appears it’s already been stolen.
Don't spend it all at one place!!!
😂😂😂
I wonder if people that experienced the 2008 crash had it easier because. my portfolio has lost over $27000 and I don't see my retirement turning out well when I can't even grow my stagnant reserve
You have an opportunity to rebalance thanks to volatility. In order to help you diversify your portfolio, you must hire a financial counselor or broker.
De-risk your portfolios, shore up your core holdings, and take some profits while balancing your portfolio allocations. I’d also suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a proper fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 80% capital growth minus dividends.
this is all new to me, where do I find a fiduciary, can you recommend any?
She goes by ‘’Sharon Lynne Hart” I suggest you look her up. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.
The stock Market most likely will rebound and then crash harder than it did in 2008 as the US is tied more in other countries then we were in 2008. Have a chat with your F. Advisor of choice and see if converting your money into cash and letting it sit until you feel the market is safe is always a choice as well. Things like shipping, food, energy, those will always spike up during economic crisis times. Just my two cents.
Compared to 2008. today is exponentially worse.
He didn’t shoot the Tesla video in landscape
Yep, I don't recall commercial real estate collapsing back then.
Now, about 50% of all businesses big and small can't pay their rent - including multi- billion dollar hightech companies.
We are in deep shet!
Nah.. we have much more to be entertained with 😂
@@andyhughes1776you're correct. Those in commercial RE were shocked by the depth of devastation in the residential market. They studied their segment of the industry, repositioned themselves and worked with the powers of that time to stave off a commercial RE meltdown. Had nothing been done the commercial meltdown would have been far more devastating than the residential, resulting in a severe depression.
@@marcellabrowning315 No amount of "repositioning" will save it this time.
Remember, the 2008 crash was due to subprime lending to residential market.
Today, the problem is the collapse of our entire economic system.
That is why it can't be fixed.
They just have to let everything collapse and start over.

Dan, my husband and made over $100,000 per year in NYC working full-time. We have 2 children. Our family cannot afford to live here raising our children with high inflation, high taxes and increasing crime.
Same in Colorado
Let me guess they don't leg him work from home because all the touchy feely things! It's because they need workers there keeping their real estate value up.
When I moved to rural Missouri in 2004 what the most frequent comment I heard from all these city slickers here in Houston. Ooooo how you going to deal w all those country hicks.....hmmmmm and who's gonna feed you city genius's when it all goes south. I eat from my garden almost everyday. Bought my first head of lettuce yesterday. Wow cost up 40% since last fall when I began harvesting from my garden salad mix. 98% of the people I know, and they have back yards, do not grow any food. 2% cannot feed 98%. Sobering news to their spoiled, entitled, door dash ears. Unfortunately back in Houston since my mom's stroke. But I have several gardens. Can't get anyone to move forward but all agree, sounds wonderful. Then when I ask if they want some seedlings the gloom of gardening themself shades their face. Ask if they want some vine ripened tomatoes, instant affirmation. Pay taxes on it and pay to have it mowed but grow something, nah, just too busy charging their door dash. Have never voted demo or repub. Ever. So proud of myself cause I didn't start the fire. Frank-Dodd 2010. Amended 2018. Can anyone spell Cypress. Best advice I can give any family. Start a garden today. No yard? Find one. Today's harvest- carrots, Swiss Chard, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, parsley, celery, kale, mint, peppers, beans, arugula, herbs. No eggplant but I'll have plenty soon. And corn, potatoes, yam. I'm a soon to be 70 yr old woman who wants out of the city. Pray about it everyday. I recommend biking. It's the closest thing to flying. Sober Christian. 281-455-1471.

Here in Florida, I was just notified by my car insurance agent that rates are going up again in July. I’ve already reduced my policy to the bare bones, I have nothing left to reduce. They told me if I agreed to put a tracking device on my car I could have a lower premium. Like WT! I have no claims or accidents or tickets. This is getting out of hand. After 35 years with SF, I’ve had enough of their price gauging. Such a scam.
How much per year?
I have pay as you go here in UK
I have allowance of 1K a year if I go over that they charge you 16 per mile .That cost me £250 for the year
You get refund if you don’t use your allowance .All depends how many miles you do a year
It was no where this bad in 2008, this is the one of the worst economies ever. Plus most of our big cities are suffering exponentially high crime rates because of the bad economy we're in.
The crime was bad before int rate increases because laws were not enforced and consequences ordered on criminals. This was so people would accept radical destruction of rights in the USA, UK, and EU.
As bad as things are, your channel, your soothing voice, your added sighs and humor are the best of the best ❤
Excellent comment. Love Dans sense of humor.
I can't take another 2008 ! In 2008 I was going through a divorce and work just died for my small remodeling business, it was an awful year. I don't think I have even fully recovered . I went from a family man with a paid for house to renting a room and paying alimony and child support , I even did six months living in my work truck. Back on my feet I guess but I couldn't take another round of that .
I doubt it will get bad as 2008 don't believe it

GM just announced they are discontinuing the Chevrolet Malibu, the last sedan they make in order to retool and expand production of EVs. I think it's a big mistake. I don't know of a single person that is interested in buying an EV from GM.
They must be retooling for hybrids as they just stopped making EVs. The Chevy Spark and Bolt were the last to go as they never sold very well. Do they have any EV cars/SUVs/trucks in any of their brands' lineups? I know Cadillac had one (an SUV) but I thought that was discontinued too as it was over $100K and wasn't selling nearly enough units to be anywhere close to profitable.
They are being manipulated for some reason the whole trans push bud light
I have owned 10 rental homes over the last 30 years. Paid into insurance, all these years, and never made a claim. So, I could have paid for a complete home with all these insurance payments! Now I own two homes free and clear. I don't have insurance on them. Who needs it?
I firmly believe that the US and Western Civilization Countries are all, for the most part, going to not just have a bad economic downturn, rather we all will see a total economic collapse.
There is so much more going down this time, than there was in 2008.

The 2008 financial crisis was about basically one thing, the subprime. Today’s issues are plenty. Not only domestic but geopolitical. We are giving away more money than we’re taking in. Hence a deficit of 36 trillion dollars that we can’t pay the interest on anymore. Talk about the roaring twenties. We all know the outcome from those years. God help us all.

Answering Dan's specific question re preparation. Yes.
1. I give a lot of credit to Dan for the changes I have made within the last two years.
a. This week, I "froze" my credit reports at the three credit reporting services for free. Now, someone stealing my identity can not access my credit information.
b. I opened free credit union accounts.
c. I changed my credit card situation to use only one card and monitor and pay it off daily.
d. I kept more money in cash at home.
e. I got rid of a lot of junk from the homestead.
f. I stopped watching television and watched significantly more youtube videos on home repairs and car maintenance which can be very expensive.
g. I take free classes at the public library.
h. I started taking better advantage of discounts offered by vendors for cash payments.
2. I revised my written estate plan, wrote an essay for the family, upgraded the medical derective.
Wow. Very well done. Smart moves. Congratulations!

I had my mother in law download a copy of her paper bill- after she was saying how electric has increased so much. It was full of new fees. One fee was "street light maintenance" on their private street with 20 houses. Two months ago she wasnt even on the house for a whole month. We both made sure to shut off everything that we thought would consume electric. Her bill was still $65
Street light maintenance should come from the City and property tax.

As weak as the dollar was in 2008, what it buys today is so much less. Using minimum wage as a measure, 1960 $1/hour vs 2024 $20/hour ( California fast food) is 20 to 1, that means $1 today equals a single 5 cent 60's nickel. $200,000 today works out to $10,000 back then. Value fell slowly at first, ramped up o er the latter half of the 20th century. Then 2000 on inflation skyrocketed. This is the real reason the boomers did better than later generations, the work to compensation value was better when the purchasing power of the Dollar was greater.

Hey Dan, I don't know why you are so opposed to electric cars. They make sense for a lot of people. I bought a Chevy Bolt. It was inexpensive for a new car and It's great! 250 miles range. $6.00 gas? I don't care anymore. I have solar panels that put out enough to charge about 50 miles in a couple hours which is plenty for my daily driving. I am no longer spending $300 +/- per month for gas. I think you're backin' the wrong horse.

It is very clear....there is now ZERO connection between what the Dow does and what life is all about for us serfs.
@@Puffin-zj2hm True. Perhaps this part of a government strategy to force retirees into larger Required Minimum Distributions? Similar to cities re-assessing houses and assigning them higher values in order to generate increased tax revenue. Zero home improvements over that span. The guy just sold his home and moved 2 counties away to escape the property tax fleecing (at least for now).
