- In this video I demonstrate some of my favorite color application techniques while I make a Clown Triggerfish. I demonstrate color casing using the "whirling" technique, stringer drawing, dotting and dot-stacking, layering, and texturing. I show the entire process except for the shaping of the body and the mounting of the finished fish to its base. I demonstrated these processes in my Making a Glass Crappie video. Here is the link:

Thank you Soo much from Central FL for the invaluable techniques revealed!
What a beautiful demo. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing skills. As always, truly inspiring.
I began lampworking in the glass vacuum of the west of Ireland 13 years ago after completing my degree in fine art. So I knew a lot about art but had virtually no practical skills that had been taught at any proficient level. My discovery of Lampworking, allowed skill, technique, curiosity, a little obsession and a whole new level of creativity to enter my life and work. Learning from artists like you through youtube and your books. I owe you my profession. I am immeasurably grateful, continuously inspired and forever humbled with the generous way you share your knowledge. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
why did nobody tell me the GOAT had a youtube channel???
He has it on his Instagram account, but now you know, you must spread the word for others ❤

Great Video!
Thank you again for another excellent tutorial/demo. I was curious if you’d take suggestions? Would really love to see a handgun/revolver demo
Not a bad idea! Thanks!
Curious if you are still hosting classes at your FL studio? I stopped using Instagram a few years ago and that was the place I would see classes advertised. Hope you are doing well, and thank you for this demo! I'm building a new studio near the beach on the Treasure Coast, but once I'm finished this fall I would love to come visit your studio and gallery.
I have retired from formal teaching. But I still will host private one-on-one classes by appointment only. You can email me at ram@mickelsenstudios.com if you are interested in that.
