I had the pleasure of meeting you in the 80's and taking one of your classes with you..I really learned quite a bit and must say it changed my glassblowing for the rest of my career. I am lucky enough to have several of your fish including this crappie, along with several other pieces of yours. Your work is outstanding....!! David Bone.
thank you again for another great video! hope all is well Edit: when using the mini torch to heal the edge of the fins what would you use if you did not have a mini? i have a phantom, turn down to as small a flame i can then accept the bit of disforming that will happen on the bottom of the fish body untill I just get better at it?
the control when making the fins and when getting smaller & doing those tiny dabs to only then also clean it up with the same hot end of the rod. I hope that clicks in my head soon.
I strongly recommend the smith little torch with a hornet tip as a minimum set up for hand torching. The Phantom has a very nice center fire, but you really need the force the pre-mix smith gives you. Total cost for both torch and tip should not be more than $250. You will make it up with the first two or three pieces you save using it.
@@ActivistTigers It should with a little practice. I use the edge of my flame a lot so I don't have to make so many little adjustments to the flame while I am doing a series of moves.
