    I wonder if the Metcal tweezers would get more use if we had more useful cartridges to choose. I enviously saw mend-it-mark with his tweezers remove smd electrolytic caps without melting all the plastic.

    Hi. There is new sequre ht140 tweezers on the market now. They are portable with type-c/dc connector, c120 (and some c210) tips, reasonable price and looks like they have proper 4 screws setup to adjust both tip-heads. Would be great to see review on it.

    Hey, i want a specific soldering station and accessories to be tested by you. Can i place an order to have it arrive at your place and you send it afterwards to me (in Germany)? I would love that, because this Station is currently not delivered to Germany directly. Both of us would benefit...

      Nah, looks like it can’t grab LEDs.
      A shim is needed at the back of the cartridge to bodge the length slightly.
      If the tweezers were more simple, designed so only one tip moved, and you could bodge the length… then with the right tips it might actually be usable.

    I'd imagine these tips will work with any whatever-T12 station like a KSGER (or whatever it is). I look at this as I'll need to replace those tweezer tips cuz they're not going to do anything after 20-30min of use if they ever work at all. What you get in your box is never what we get. I say this having bought a couple items on your recondition. :(

    Hi Sir! Can you confirm if the tweezers are compatible with the KSGER T12? Many thanks!

    • @barrymayson2492
      @barrymayson2492 4 місяці тому

      I have the same system but the KSGER has a different connection I believe it is certainly so here. But the KSGER system is an old unit 2-3 years older. And the way things change depending on who manufactures it. But the Handskit tweezers have a 5 pin connector and my KSGER system has 4 pins. The cartridge systems work between them no problem. The thing about the tweezers is they are not checking temperature on both sides but only one cartridge is tested. The other thing I found is the cartridge system is very loose. They turn on a little pressure. This is just what I have found.

    I think anyone that wants to try soldering tweezers should try nano style like JBC AN115 and use a foot switch.
    Nano style heats up and cools down very rapidly using foot switch to control heat on/off, and can move components around with high dexterity. I’ve also seen Hakko tweezers that can switch between normally open & normally closed mode.
    The idea is they can be used in place of regular tweezers. I believe that’s how rework tweezers are ‘supposed’ to work. I don’t actually have tweezers, BTW, but I’ve looked into it.

    Why do they spend so much effort in making a badly earthed product, when they could for a little more effort make it safe. How much effort does it take to read and understand the LVD which I think is also in affect in Chinese law. If i remember they just use the CE marking directive standards as a guide for there own.
