We were on the Infinity out of Athens at the end of February. Ate in Le Petit Chef one night, there were 3 other tables, so 4 in total. 2 of the tables were celebrating birthdays, so that was fun. We did feel a bit rushed, because they were loading a new menu animation to the cameras, and they had to make sure it displayed correctly. They did explain about the menu choices and how they could not tailor each place setting individually.
@@derekfinnegan734 we did the Joy 2 years ago……I think it has been refurbished since. It was a nice cruise. Love the promenade deck, took walks there every evening.
Bahahahahaha you just reminded me why I booked an excursion for this port - lived in EU and yes, the Turkish vendors will follow you - I'm taking this cruise in February, solo, and don't feel like being harassed! We sailed on the Celebrity Apex and there is only one animation. We've also been to the restaurant here in Toronto and there is only one animation.
hate formal night. I took a 10 day cruise on Infinity last year. I took a carry on and a back pack. No dress shoes or heavy clothes. Best way to travel is less is more. I wore black pants and a black tank top with a different blouse over that each night. Looked fine and easy to travel with.
I guess that is a good thing about Chic night, it is more inclusive and less pressure for those that dislike dressing up. I (Laurie) just have so many dressy dresses I LIVE for it! Im an actress so I guess I just like playing dress up and pretend in general.
Enjoyed the Blog, especially as we are doing this cruise on Infinity on 3rd March. Unfortunately you didn't get to Ephesus, just Kusadasi. Ephesus, 18km away is the ruins of an ancient city from ancient Greece through to the Roman Empire. You MUST go back& see it!
Ahhh we didn’t get to Ephesus you are correct. There was so much to do right by the ship! Next time we do this route we will get excursions at every port.
Gary’s wacky swagger is right up my alley!😂 Food looks great. We’ve only been on Royal’s Liberty where the food was fine. We too are “foodies “ too and can’t wait to upgrade with Celebrity!
Celebrity Main Dining Room food is the best we’ve had so far. I was just watching a La Lido Loca live (they are huge cruise youtube influencers if you don’t know) who have been on way more cruises than us and they said the same thing: Celebrity Main Dining Room for the WIN!
Laurie With reference to your question regarding the animation at Le Petit Chef, Celebrity has the animation show that goes with the main menu only. There is no animation for the Alternate menu, as that menu is there for diners who prefer a different choice than what is on the main menu. They will even prepare special menus for those who cannot eat all or some of the items on the main and alternate menus. As such, they cannot provide animation for those diners. If certain diners selected a mixed choice of the main menu and alternate menu, it would be logistically impossible to have animation specific to each diner’s order, hence the single animation specific to the main menu.
Thank you for answering our question. I feel like when they designed the restaurant it could have 2 separate animations programmed based on either option. Idk it just seems crazy to me that you only get 1 food choice to enjoy the actual true experience.
Thessaloniki is so rarely on cruise itineraries, so this is was a great chance to see a city that we someday hope to visit ourselves. And doesn't it look fabulous in that winter light. You've captured so many wonderful images in your video of the city and the ship in this video. BUT......just to say that Ephesus is in fact an incredible ancient city (kinda like Pompeii) that is 12 miles away from here where you were in Kusadasi (pronounced Koo-sar-da-see) Its cool.....it all looked good in your vlog 😄
Native NY NYer here. Not going to Efes is like going to NY for the first time & not going to the Statue of Liberty. We saw Efes at 6am 30 years ago with only 1 other tourist couple in the site at that hour. It was outstanding!!!

@@laurieGaryCruise This was our first Celebrity cruise. Definitely won’t be our last!
Our next cruise is on NCL Joy mid August out of NYC.

@@maryjanekolesar8325 have an amazing cruise.
Great video folks. You both looked good all dressed up. We also like the formal night as we like to dresses up even on vacation.
It’s just fun!!!! Right!
So missed having a formal night on our Norwegian cruise. And I had packed an outfit!
I didn’t know NCL no longer had a formal night!
I hope it’s not across the fleet but only on the Gem.

You are too kind!!!!
Someday we will see you on a cruise
Great video my friends...
Thank you for all your support as always!💖
Love
Why thank you!
Only animation for the main menu, not the alternative menu. My last visit, the food was only ok. It was a shortrib. Same as MDR. Was dissappointed.
Oh wow! We loved the food…..however the soup was a touch fishy.
And you didn't go to the excursions????In Greece? Really?????
If we went back we would but we honestly had a great time without excursions. If I could go back in time we’d get one in Cyprus for sure!
With respect to....its pronounced Thess-a-lon-ick -a
Thank you!!!!
