    NOTES from the SHOW:
    • Catholics are perceived as having a “gospel of works” and have abandoned the gospel of grace. It seems Protestants misrepresent passages of Scripture regarding being saved.
    • We were initially saved by faith and baptism... Mark 16:16
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
    • We are currently being saved and working it out...
Phil 2:12 Therefore, my beloved ... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
Phil 3:11-12 “That by any means possible I [Paul] may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
    • We will be saved if we persevere to the end.... Matt 24:13 “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Did the earliest Christians believe in faith alone? When did that come about?
    • The Early Church did NOT teach faith alone but Initial Justification was a free gift of faith and baptism. Then we must live out that grace through obedience and good works.
    • Acts 15:1, 5 “Some men came down from Judea and were
teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised
according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
How are we saved according to the Bible?
How does one receive salvation, justi fication, new birth, and eternal life?
By believing in Christ (Jn 3:16; Acts 16:31)?
    By repentance (Acts 2:38; 2 Pet 3:9)?
    By baptism (Jn 3:5; 1 Pet 3:21; Titus 3:5)?
By the work of the Spirit (Jn 3:5; 2 Cor 3:6)?
By declaring with our mouths (Lk 12:8; Rom 10:9)?
By coming to a knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4; Heb 10:26)?
    By works (Rom 2:6, 7; James 2:24)?
By grace (Acts 15:11; Eph 2:8)?
By his blood (Rom 5:9; Heb 9:22)?
By his righteousness (Rom 5:17; 2 Pet 1:1)?
By his Cross (Eph 2:16; Col 2:14)?
By perseverance (Matt 24:13, Rom 2:7)
    • Rom 2:7 “to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.”
    • John 3:3-5 Jesus answered Nicodemus, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
    • 1 Peter 3:21 “Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
    • Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Protestants say that being baptized and doing good works is “works based salvation?” Is this true? Why or why not? • What are works that are referred to in the NT - “works of the
law” or our own efforts to keep the Law or earn our way to heaven
    • John 5:28-29 “Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.”
James 2:20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?
    • Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?

    I left the Catholic Church
    in the year 2000
    I went to many different
Churches, Baptist, Pentecostal, Church of God, Church of Christ and non denomination
I found that when getting together in fellowship there was so much disagreements on Salvation, post trib, pre trib. many subjects on the Bible but the Catholic
Church is set. It is what it is. I know the enemy is the author of confusion
and I came back to the Catholic Church last year. It was over 20 years of confusion now I’m home again.

Most protestants don't want to know the truth they are passionate in their hatred for the Catholic faith without really even knowing why. That's just how they were raised to be and act holier than thou, this is the enemy, we are the good guys. So sad, most will never snap out of it even if the Virgin or Jesus showed themselves to them.

God bless you both. I was a dying Jewish atheist who thought all gods were fictional. Had I even wanted any god the last one I would've chosen would've been Jesus. After He healed & saved me in 2017 the only Christian I knew was some flavor of Protestant. They taught me using Scripture that Catholicism was of satan. Then this year, Mary started beckoning to me. And now I'm in RCIA and have found rest for my weary soul & true nourishment at home in Mother Church. When I finally take the Holy Eucharist, I know it'll give me what I need to live out my faith & serve as God has made me to do. I can't wait!

I was raised Southern Baptist and was "saved" at 9 years old. Fast forward 20 something years later and I was going to church but living far from a Christian life. One night our pastor preached a sermon on 1st John about how to test yourself to see if you are in the Faith. I was convicted and after service I went and talked to him and all they Knew to do was lead me in the "sinners prayer" again....the same prayer I said at 9......that was where my questions began to come and after many years of searching, I came into the Church in 2020.

@@sammygomes7381 , once again you ignore what the Bible really says.. That Christians can fall out of Christ's hands due to sin is evident in Paul's harsh criticism of the Galatians. Mathew 18:12-14 and Luke 15:3-7 proves Jesus never stops trying to get us back in His flock. But the point is that the sheep can wander away. If some of the Galatians were "severed from Christ" and "fallen from grace" (Gal. 5:2-4) then they were first in Christ and in grace. They were counted among the flock, but they later went astray. Not because they were snatched, but by their own volition. You and the rest of Protestants are taught we are kind of robots without will, but that is not what the Bible teaches. Remember, when you say that this or that Catholic teaching is contrary to a particular passage of Scripture, what you are actually saying is that this or that Catholic teaching is contrary to your fallible understanding of that particular passage of Scripture. You make up your own doctrines according to your own assumptions, Catholics ( from the 1st century) attended the oral teaching of the Apostles so we can understand properly what is written. God bless you

Hello, l listened to your whole message, conversation, interpretation, teaching, and Q & A, and l realized that in the beginning you said that Abraham couldn't know or couldn't sure that he was saved before doing several things, one after the other, including circumcision, and he continued on doing things, after things, after things, and works, and obedience, etc, till the end of his life, etc... in order to tell us that he must have been continually doing things in order to (maybe) be saved at the end of his life.
But then, later on in your speech, you picked the same example of Abraham from the same chapter in Gen. where he got circumcised to say that he was assuredly saved before that act of obedience.
So, you clearly contradicted yourself. It was very, very clear. I myself stopped - made a stop, rewinded, and re-listened to you, and l found it so clear and evident: you used the same verses/paragraph/chapter and topic (circumcision) in order to confirm two very clear and evident opposite things.
      So you said:
      1. Abraham was NOT sure he is saved before circumcision.
      And
      2. Abraham was sure he is saved before circumcision.
So, please re-listen to what you said: Because those who will listen to you carefully, will absolutely recognize this clear contradiction.
You cannot use the same verse and the same topic or act (of circumcision) to confirm 2 opposite things:
      1. He is saved for sure without the need to be circumcised. And,
      2. He cannot be sure if he was indeed saved even if he did this or that including circumcision.
I am writing this to you: not to criticize you or attack you, but so that you make the correction, to pay attention, and to better prepare your speech and answers beforehand.
      Respectfully.
      Abdel-Massih.

I just had a "very heated" conversation with my older brother about Constantine
    /the Catholic Church/the bible/Gods name!
It was far from a fruitful conversation. He yells, I mean speaks (ha) and you listen. All I have to do is start a word, and he goes off!
He completely believes Constantine started the Church, and pagenized it!
He thinks that the bible was corrupted from the very beginning!
He also tries to say Jesus' name in, I think Aramaic. He says there is power in a name, which I agree with, and that Jesus wasn't His name.
He also wont say "God." He goes on about how His name was taken out of His book, or he says "what God, which one are you talking about?"
And of course..he goes on and on about the "Pagen Roman Catholic Church!"
He makes a big deal about the "Roman" part. They are the whore of Babylon, they are ran by Satan himself, corrupt, evil Popes made up the religion, (which he makes clear that he doesn't belong to a man-made religion) and it goes on and on.
He then prays for me, as he is screaming,
"My Father in heaven, help my sister free herself from the demonic church she is in!"
It's a horrible scene for sure. The only words I get in are, "I will be a Catholic till the day I die!"
I never initiate these conversations. This one started over politics. I mentioned how the Left/Democrats are trying to take God out of everything...big mistake! He then went on about Christopher Columbus, and presidents being Freemasons, and it progressed from there!
He has become a conspiracy freak...yes the earth is flat, we faked the moon landing, JFK, the dollar bill, etc...
One thing I have learned about a conspiracy theorist, they don't believe anyone, anything, not even facts or evidence!
You are wrong and they are right...end of story!
Please pray for him, and please pray for me, because he lives with me!
God bless you if you took the time to read this.
It kind of felt good to unload my thoughts, and I appreciate that you took the time to listen!
    God bless you! 🌷

Blessed Miraculous medal. and / or a green scapular ( the green scapular is for conversions) in a place near your brother , somewhere where he cannot see it , like behind a Picture of him hidden safely in the Picture frame. And pray. and keep praying the rosary for his conversión.and TRY your best NOT to argue with him ! He seems like a person who will change only by Eixample so keep calm and when you see him start something get up and calmly walk away ! While you are walking away , think of the silence of the Christ when He was being Falsley accused ! and say , "MY JESUS , I SURRENDER YOU TAKE CARE OF THIS" , Let your brother scream and yell all he wants . If all this time you have been in heated arguments with him , and have gotten NO WHERE ,What good have these argumentos bought you anyways ?! This BIG CHANGE. in your behavior WILL. make him THINK. about his anger and he will eventually calm down because , I tell you again , in reality , you both get NO WHERE with your arguements ! Just calm down, pray , leave it in God's hands after all He's the one that does ALL. THE CONVERTING ! NOT US ! all we help with are with our prayers and with our PATIENCE ! So please have patience and you WILL eventually see a change in your brother ! Please look for the " Surrender prayer to Jesus on UA-cam . 👍😁🌹

Oh man! Sorry to hear that. The Moon for the conspiracy theory? The Earth is flat? Doesn't he realize that we can see the Earth from space? Or I guess that's all faked as well. There's just some people you can't talk to. Seriously because there's something deeper going on in their life. They use knowledge, and argumentation, and even get heated, but it's the cover-up for deeper problems, hurts, or other things that they are struggling with. So like this other person said, pray for him a lot. And always be super kind none-the-less. I'll tell you can learn the art of asking questions, and over time you will learn how to back even the most stubborn people into a corner. Good job for evangelizing though. Keep up the good work.

One thing I have learned, is that you cant change a conspiracy theorist view. They honestly believe that everything is a lie, or that their are subliminal messages in everything. My brother cannot watch any news, movies, or even listen to music anymore.
He watches youtube videos, everyday, that support these conspiracies.
He believes these things with every ounce of his being, and there is nothing that can change his mind. One other thing that is difficult for him is that I have a rather large crucifix in my dining room. I also have an older picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in my kitchen, and statues of our Lady inside and out. To him they are idles, and he does his best not to even look at them. He almost broke the one in my kitchen during one of his rants...but I wont take them down! The only thing left is prayer, and I do pray for him often!

@@sammygomes7381 , you say: "Not once during my time with the Catholic church was I encouraged to read the bible". I am really sorry you did not have the chance to receive a proper Catholic education or maybe you did not understand what was taught. You say: "Those that are with Christ are alive in the spirit but dead in the flesh, as is Mary. They will all arise during the rapture as the bible tells us. ". You are right but you ignore we must remember that there are sometimes exceptions to general theological norms. We have examples of other “assumptions” in Scripture. Both Enoch (cf. Gen. 5:24) and Elijah were taken up “into heaven” (II Kings 2:11) in a manner quite out of the ordinary. And so are the “two witnesses” of Revelation 11:3-13. Why couldn’t God do this with Mary? We know that Mary is an exception to the “norm” of I Cor. 15:22-23 because she is depicted as having been assumed into heaven in Rev. 12. “And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun . . . she was with child . . . and . . . brought forth a male child [Jesus], one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron” (12:1-5). Who was the woman who gave birth to Jesus? Mary! And there she is in heaven! You will say the woman is exclusively Israel (or the Church, or Jerusalem) If you had had a proper Catholic education you knew the Church acknowledges Scripture to have a polyvalent nature. In other words, there can be many levels of meaning to the various texts of Scripture. If you had a proper Catholic education you knew that In fact, we argue as Catholics “the woman” to represent the people of God down through the centuries, whether Old Covenant Israel or the New Covenant Church, “the Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16). Revelation 12 representing the people of God down through the millennia of time does not diminish in any way the first and literal sense of the text as representing Mary. You surely are right in what you affirm and wrong in what you denie. You pick some verses from the Bible, but you ignore some verses from the Bible. The Catholic doctrines are biblical if you understand them properly. God bless you

      @CatholicTruthOfficial  Місяць тому

Thank you for thslandered. We agree real faith produces works. Or should, if people stay prayed up, resist sin, and stay faithful. In Ephesians 2:8-9, good works are not being condemned. You will notice that Paul makes a distinction between "works" in Ephesians 2:8-9 and "good works" in verse 10. Clearly, works and good works are two different things. Nowhere are good works condemned or are said to be not needed. So you are misusing this passage. There are two different types of works. Paul talks about that are not good works. 1. Works done by our own power that don't mean anything or do anything. 2. Jewish Works of the law. These are the Old Testament rituals, cleansing, and things like circumcision. This is the majority of what Paul condemns when he uses the word works.
Eph. 2:8-9 is talking about works done by our own power. We can't save ourselves. It's all the work and grace of God.
And you will note that he condemns those "works," which are different than the good works which he mentions and we are called to walk in, in verse 10.
The entire New Testament says we need to live out our faith, follow the commandments, be obedient to Christ, bear good fruit, and stay faithful until to the end or we won't be saved (Jn. 14:15, 21-24; Jn. 15:5-7, 10, 14; Mt. 19:15-23, James 2:24; Rom. 17-22; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:17-22; Jn. 3:5; Heb. 10:26-29; Rev. 2:4-7, 10, 19-26, Mt. 25:31-46).

Then for my first time in my life I heard Catholic Apologists.. and now have returned. I pray the Catholic church can become more evangelical in nature. That discipleship is emphasized more. I believe I saw a Catholic answers response to this once by Jimmy Akin and he said something like the criminal next to Jesus received a baptism of desire. Meaning he didn’t have time obviously to get baptized but believed in Jesus as he spent time on the cross next to him. If I find the video I will let you know.

thank you for mentioning about the "criminal next to Jesus only asked for salvation and was saved. How would you answer that?"
if you read carefully passage Luke 23:39-43, you will see three ROLES that the criminal had done before he was saved:
King - when he acknowledged that he had SINS "indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes"
Prophet - when he truly professed Jesus that, '"this man has done nothing criminal."
Priest - when he believed Jesus has his Kingdom-Eternity and wanted to 'follow Jesus' "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom."
the DOING of the KING ROLE is to be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect! = to repent the wrongs that one had done.
the DOING of the PROPHET ROLE is to be merciful as your Heavenly Father is perfect! = to tell the truth and share the truth.
the DOING of the PRIEST ROLE is to be holy as your Heavenly Father is holy! = to follow Jesus to pray to offer sacrifice.

At the time the thief on the cross died, the New Testament Church, Catholicism, had not started yet. Because Jesus had not died and risen yet. But once Jesus rose from the dead and Pentecost happened, then the New Testament Church was established.

    • @luisaymerich9675

You should tell your friend he cannot compare his Christian path to that of the crucified man next to Jesus.
Jesus said the one who will be saved is the one who perseveres to the end.
The crucified man was at the end of his life, your friend has a long way to go to reach his end.
A man's life begins when he is born but that is not the sum of his life.
A Christian's life begins when he is born again but that too is not the sum of his life.
We don't remember the people of history for being born but for how they lived.
It is a man's life that defines him. So it is in his Christian life.

    • @Alfredo8059
      @Alfredo8059 2 роки тому

The FORMER thief on the cross did not only ask for salvation as Protestants/Evangelicals teach. The former thief on the cross died with Christ ( that is literally baptism) , defended Christ, he loved Christ ( "If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha." 1 Cor. 16:22). Faith alone is nothing ( 1 Cor. 13:2). "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." Rev. 12:11; "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" Heb. 12:14. Catholics read Scripture guided by the early Church Fathers. For the early Church fathers any justification that is not woven together with sanctification is not sanctification at all. For Protestants justification is a mere legal declaration. That is the key to understand the Protestant error. Many Bible verses contradict Protestantism: "Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much" Luke 7:47. Protestants should be told that love is greater than faith ( 1 Cor. 13:13).

    St. Agatha
    SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Agatha (231-251 A.D.) was born in Sicily into an affluent family. At a young age she made the decision to devote herself to Christ, resisting every offer of marriage. Struck by her beauty and wealth, a magistrate named Quintian desired to marry her. He plotted to use his political power to force her hand, and threatened to prosecute her for the crime of Christianity unless she accepted his sexual advances. When she refused, he forced her into a brothel. Even there, she refused to relinquish her chastity. Furious, Quintian imprisoned and tortured Agatha, ordering her breasts to be cut off. Upon this barbaric treatment, God sent St. Peter the Apostle to Agatha in a vision, and he healed her wounds. St. Agatha’s torture continued until an earthquake caused her captors to flee, and she died shortly after. St. Agatha is the patroness of rape victims, torture victims, martyrs, nurses, and against breast cancer. She is one of the seven women, besides the Virgin Mary, mentioned by name in the Roman Canon of the Mass. Her feast day is February 5th.

Question = Why did Jesus incarnate as a Man and die on the Cross ??
(( Note = a review of the following points is necessary before answer ))
    A) God's " execution " of Ananias and Sapphira from the 1st Christian Faith community just a short time after Jesus' Heavenly ascent, and for only relatively " minor " sins of dishonesty and lying- Acts 5
    B) Paul's urging of the Corinthian church to - Expel the wicked man living with his father's wife - 1 Cor. 5
    C) Jesus' threatened vomiting of the lukewarm Laodicean church - Rev 3.
    D) The other thief on the Cross who was not promised Paradise
    E) Are they " Saved ?" = Christians who do works of the flesh who will not inherit God's kingdom - Galatians 5:19-21
    F) Heavenly Father - same yesterday, today, forever - who - in anger - will hand an unforgiving Christian over to the torturers - Matt. 18:32-35
    G) Why does God still discipline and chastise - every - child before He will accept them into His Heavenly kingdom - Hebrews 12:6 if Jesus has paid our sin debt in full ?
    H) Why does 1 John 5:16-17 differentiate between Deadly - mortal - sin and non-Deadly- venial - sins ?
    I) Why did God allow the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD if Jesus paid the penalty of all sin ?
    J) God issued Commandments. So when did God allow the breaking of these without consequences ?
    K) If Jesus died for all sins, why is the gate to Heaven narrow and few find it - Mat. 7:14 & Luke 13:23-24
    L) The Bible tells that God is a God of Justice and has no favourites. If I keep on breaking your windows, and God keeps on forgiving me unconditionally, then obviously God will be unjust to you. How can this happen ?
    M) How can Tax Collectors and Prostitutes be allowed to enter Heaven - ahead - of the Chief Priests and Pharisees - Matthew 21:31. In other words, how does God schedule and delay one group of people while favouring another group by moving them - ahead - of them
    N) .In His Parables Jesus urged us to multiply our talents, become more fruitful "soil" and be wise "virgins". Will we be " absent in the flesh, present with the Lord " if we bury our talents, cease to be good "soil" or become foolish "virgins" ?
    O) Jesus warned - Matthew 18:6 - about leading astray a little one who believes in Him. The word - astray - means to stop believing in Jesus. How would God deal with a Christian who does lead many astray ?
    P) If a Christian today - as he has been doing so faithfully for the past 10 years - declares that Jesus is Lord, but tomorrow becomes disgruntled and joins the church of satan and worships the devil, will he be saved ?
    Q) God issues tests to each, not only to Adam, Abraham and Job. Remember that these tests are given to determine our love and thanksgiving to God. What would happen if we do not fulfill our tests or run away like Jonah ?
    R) Why did Jesus on the very day of His resurrection from the dead - empower - His Apostles to forgive sin or retain sin - John 20:22-23
    S) Why did Jesus command us to - Eat My Flesh, Drink My Blood - for Eternal life - John 6:53-58 ?
    T) Why will Jesus, at His Second Coming, issue beatings - severe ones to Christians to whom much has been entrusted - Luke 12:48 - whereas light stripes to the others - Luke 12:35-48 ?
    U) Non-Catholics believe that Jesus took all punishment, yet if a Christian takes the mark of the beast, will s/he be saved from the wrath of God - Rev 14:9-10 ?
    V) If Jesus has taken all sin debt upon Himself, why at the Great Judgement at the end of the Millennium, will Christian entry to Heaven be based on Works of Love - For I was hungry and you fed Me ...etc...Come inherit My Father's kingdom - Matt 25 ?
    W) If Jesus took away all our sins, Scripture should state - By Grace I have saved you, even if you behave like the devil or even worship the devil. However, Scripture declares = “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. - Romans 12:19. How does God's vengeance fit with His Grace ?
    X) Jesus says in Matthew 6:14-15, 'If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Protestants don't have any concept of the - effects - of sin. For example, if I break your window, and God forgives me unconditionally, who will repair your window ??? While it is good for God to cover all my sins with His precious Blood, God will not repair your damaged window. In that case, God will expect - me - to repair or compensate you sufficiently - otherwise there will be Purgatory - or - Hell to pay especially in more serious and grievous cases like damaging your reputation, injuring you seriously, or murder, etc.
    Y) Read the high expectations that Jesus required of the 7 Churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 even despite persecution. View them in the light of non-Catholicism which imposes no obligation, no forms of worship and thanksgiving - unlike Catholics who celebrate Mass which is both worship and thanksgiving -, and no kneeling - no kneelers in their churches.
    Z) Protestants believe that Jesus paid the sin debt of those past, present and future. In that case, Sodom and Gomorrah would have been restored by now. And in future, if I rob you of your house and leave you cold, penniless and hungry on the street, and = only = confess my sin, will God be so taken by my confession that He will welcome me into Heaven with = Well done good and faithful servant = and then proceed to give me the best mansion in Heaven ??
Note = If an answer cannot be given to this most basic and fundamental question, then whatever any Protestant states about Catholicism is false, because they do not know Jesus and Christianity.
    == SHUN THEM. ==
    God bless

Steve has been to the Holy Land 70 times.
    My question…
If The Church is the New Israel, as Paul says in Galatians 6:16, is the land of Israel still the “Holy Land”?
Paul said this because the Jews were trying to mislead Christians.

We verbally profess Jesus as our Savior at every mass - we all say it in unison. And that's where I kind of get stuck with my Protestant brothers and sisters, who I love and appreciate dearly: If you're telling me all I have to do is profess Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, and we do that at every Mass, then how am I not saved? I say it daily - either at Mass or when praying the Rosary - almost verbatim to how you'd ask someone to say it to "get saved." You have a beautiful vision in your desire to save, but it seems that I'm excluded from it despite my out in the open, as witnessed by many, regular profession of faith, "I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ..."
Prior to conversion, twice in my life I made the profession. The first was my guitar teacher - he still lives on a pillar in my mind 45 years later, and the second was a classmate at a conference where I was disgusted at how all the men were heading to the bar every night after class since they were away from their wives. I pledged twice, "I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord an savior." Then, a decade or so later I became Catholic.
Am I no longer "saved?" If the answer is no, then you’d have to admit there are conditions upon which one can fall from grace. If the answer is yes that I'm still saved, then what's your concern with me being Catholic? Much respect to all - nothing offensive implied at all.
    God bless you!

If salvation is simply achieved by believing alone, and proclaiming through our mouths that Jesus is Lord and the true Son of God, then, what happens to the demon in Mark 1:23-26 who also believes and has declared, who Jesus is?, and I quote: . . . “What business do we have with me, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are-the Holy One of God!” Do they mean that the demon here in this passage also got justified, was saved, and, he's now in heaven too? Crazy Protestants

Believing isn’t a simple intellectual acknowledgment of Christs existence and his position in the cosmos. It doesn’t say “Abraham believed *in* God” it says “Abraham *believed* God”, meaning he walked in accordance to his faith. A demon isn’t going to perform the commandments of Christ as seen in Romans 13:8-10, 1 John 3:21-24, and of course Mathew 22:36-40

A person who is saved belongs to God and will not commit murder. That's not to say that one sin is greater than another, the impact, however, is. The act of salvation is not a process. We are sealed when we accept Christ as Lord and Savior. Np one can take us out of that relationship. There are people who have said they were saved, but they never were. This is a fact. The story he uses is just that, a story that he made up to make his point. It's sort of like a strawman. The bible says that if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, we SHALL be saved. That's a guarantee, not a process. We're still going to be held accountable before the Lord. Our reward in heaven will be impacted by our lives after salvation. Those who have done good only do so because of the saving Grace of Christ, while those who do evil do so because they have rejected Him. His scripture quotes are right, his interpretation is not. Our good deeds DO NOT save us. If that were so, Jesus would have died in vain.

This was great! It is so edifying and motivating to see the truth proclaimed! May we all respond to God’s call, faithfully obeying His command that we love one another as He has loved us. Love is demonstrated by action. Would we consider a marriage to be healthy if it was only based on words without action? Doesn’t a spouse do damage to the relationship when he/she commits adultery? Wouldn’t the words “I love you and I give myself to you completely” be rather empty if the requisite self-giving actions didn’t follow, but were replaced by actions of selfishness, deceit, and adultery? Why wouldn’t we see our relationship with God the same way? We have free will, so we either treasure our relationship and take the actions to grow our bond with God… or focus on ourselves and our own desires. He doesn’t force anything. He gives us the choice to love Him or not.

'Me-and-my-Bible' Christianity is unbiblical. It is also ineffective at transmitting the faith in a coherent manner. Besides which, it is not all about You and God. You are baptized into a Church and you have brothers and sisters to whom you owe allegiance as well as to God.

@@Justas399 One is baptized into the Body of Christ which is the Church. That is why we have duties and responsibilities toward not just God but toward the entire family of God. Charity is the way we express this love and is the greatest of the theological virtues. Unless we love our brothers and sisters we are not in God and not followers of Christ. The Church is the communion of saints, i.e. the kingdom of God on earth, the family into which we are baptized.

@@Justas399 Jesus established a Church to which He gave authority which is the Catholic Church. As Steve Ray likes to say, "When Jesus was ascending into Heaven He didn't say "remember to read my book". Who says that it has to be proved from the New Testament? The New Testament doesn't make that claim for itself, it is Protestants who make that claim because they automatically come from the premise that Sola Scriptura is true. It is not true and 2nd Timothy 3:16 isn't proof that it is. it says "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work". It says it is "God Breathed" which means that it is inspired by God and is "useful" which means "helpful" for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. It does not say that it is the soul rule and only authority for the Christian. That verse modifies the servant of God. It does not modify itself, and even if it did, "Thoroughly equipped" means exactly what it says, "Thoroughly equipped" and doesn't mean Scripture equips itself to be the sole rule and only authority for the Christian. It means it thoroughly equips the Servant of God for every good work and that's it. That is the main Scripture that Protestants use to defend Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura was concocted in 1517 by an Augustinian Catholic Priest named Martin Luther. It didn't exist in the prior fifteen hundred years of Christianity. I'm surprised that millions and millions of protestants have taken on Luther's unscriptural cause and defend it so vehemently that he established by his own authority. Who gave Martin Luther that authority?

Steve is absolutely correct. You are calling john 6:63 Where it says that the spirit gives life but the flesh is of no Avail. That does not mean the u Christmas spiritual. Nor does it say that. The reason protest and say this is because they really don't know the Bible well. If they did, they would know that the flesh and the spirit are opposite, and to be in the flesh means you don't have Faith, and you don't believe godly things. That's what Jesus was saying to the pharisees is that they are in the flesh. But it's the spirit that gives life and allows you to believe in the words that hes saying. You are walking away from Jesus on this issue, just like the Jews did.

Much can be learned about Christ's Body of believers through Israel (Jacob) and Rachel's offspring. Rachel, the most beloved of high favor of Jacob; who is a type of God the Father in the story, begat Joseph and Benjamin. There is a parallel to Joseph and the Western Roman Catholic Rite; Benjamin to the Eastern Orthodox Rite; and Rachel to Mary, the Mother of the two, Mater Dei and Theotokos respectively. In the Roman Rite Mary is assumed into heaven body and soul with the absence of death called the Dormition, for the wages of sin is death and she was sinless; whereas in the Orthodox Catholic Church Mary dies and is resurrected as Rachel dies in childbirth delivering Benjamin. When examining the lineage of Joseph, his two sons at the time shortly before Jacob's passing, he blesses the two with the same single blessing yet his right hand on the youngest which Joseph, a type of Jesus, rebukes Jacob that he crossed his hands lying them upon their heads but Israel says the younger shall be the father of many nations and greater than the eldest which parallels the many numerous denominations of Protestantism having combined number of members greater than that of the Roman Catholic Church who parallels the eldest son as the father of a great unified tribe.
The three Ibrahamic religions are parallel to the wives of Jacob: the children of Leah where the ones used by God as is Judaism; The children of Rachel the ones loved through suffering by God as is Christendon and the children of Bilhah the ones set apart as Islam is.
