Those holes in the feet are for missile launchers. Sadly they were removed from the US releases from Tonka because of safety concerns, leaving holes. If you happen to own the original package for Courageous or Grungy you may notice there is an empty slot in the Styrofoam next to the guns, and that's where they would pack the plastic missiles in the Japanese release.
The combined gun can be held by the fists. It has a handle that can flip down. However, the handle is smaller than the fist and the fist grip is not very tight. I just attach it to the pegs on the arm suit, much more stable.
IXRollOutIX, Hasbro bought Tonka a few years back, and folded the GoBot line somewhat into Transformers. That's why there are Transformers with GoBot names. IIRC Hasbro used GoBot as a line for younger children too.
My cofounder Jeff owns the guardian version of these suits, and it’s the one in your thumbnail, and I thought these things are cool; I mean these suits give the gobots the ability to combine together for the ones that don’t combine on their own, and I’m going to do a video on the one my cofounder Jeff owns coming soon.
I have two of those power suits from when I was a kid and never knew what the he'll they were for. Thanks a lot for this. I may need to complete my set!
I had this toy when I was 9 but never knew the name of the toy or year till now. It took me 25 plus years to look for it. Thank u for making this video. U made my day.
I used to have both versions of this as a kid, and the big grey four legged thing, too - my mum liked that they also doubled as storage. I think they ended up getting sold at a garage sale, or something, along with my lion Voltron.
When I had these, Scoops fit perfectly inside the main body of the robot.... i guess that's how ya fit Leader 1 in. I never figured out why Leader 1 couldn't fit.
Excellent! This takes me back, although I didn't have many Gobots-I had some of the superGobots, but I was mostly into TF. I wish Gobots made a comic book-that's why I liked TF better
This might have already been said but I was confused at first when you called the forklift "Scoops". His name is actually Spoons. His coloring does sort of resemble G1 Scoop, though, who you might have had in mind.
I have the complete in box version of Guardian Courageous ( made by Tonka, has Styrofoam insert.). I picked it up for 35 bucks! As far as I can tell, the pieces of the gun that all combine, can be placed into the holes on the feet. Great fig, wish I had the Grungy version as well some Gobots to fill it! I thought about going rough all of my TF scouts to see which ones would fit, until I acquire some actual Gobots (hopefully) this year at TFcon. :D
Did you get to see what Phelan Porteous has recently reviewed? He has a Korean KO of this toy that includes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures to put into the power suits.
He is a Power Warrior. The forklift is "Spoons" not "Scoops" and he's a Renegade, and they did say both "Transform" and "Convert" in the Gobots TV series. The suits can hold a dozen or more different Gobots each. The suits granted enhanced speed, blaster strength, telekinesis and sensors to each Gobot. There are no missiles.
just got back into go bots and gonna get the renegade power suits for my good guy go bots. gonna try for the main space ship later when i can afford it.
did they make orange repaints of loco? i think i have one he is in pieces at the moment.(legs are broken) but mine looks very similar to it except for colour.
the funny thing about the go-bots/transformers war is that the gobots figures are actually more well manufactured- die cast parts and such. in fact, not many of the figures came with any accessories for kids to lose (i think only cop-tur did). such a better toy, but man was the transformers a better show.
1. Gobots aren't old, Machine Robo is old. Second, you mixed white with black power suits. Do it right. This isn't Voltron. And dude, how can you put Renegades like Jeeper Creeper in Courageous? You must be one of those fanfic guys... :/
I found the power suits really cool as a kid. thanks for uploading this. great memories
My Joe's fit in those suits. I used to use them as jumppack units. I had the old corsair go bot and sub. Loved them

They were also present in the European Robo Machine releases.
I didn't even have 5 Gobots so I just put GI Joes in it.
+sirkowski hell yeah so did i
sirkowski WOOOOW of did to
If you do that in the 80s as a kid, Congratulations.
There's actually a Korean bootleg of this toy that come with custom sized teenage mutant ninja there to ride the 5 parts.

Is this "cofounder" thing a little like Jeff's "roommates" in Grandma's Boy?
I have two of those power suits from when

You can fit Legends in those power suits.
this suit is awesome i have a few its well worth it. the suit looks great with the gobots in them just a great display piece
When I had these, Scoops fit perfectly inside the main body of the robot.... i guess that's how ya fit Leader 1 in. I never figured out why Leader 1 couldn't fit.
I had most of these, and my Royal-T was always the floppiest, too.
They don’t make’m like this any more!
This was such a good idea for collectors.
this is a nice combiner
My first GOBOTS had been Pathfinder and Fightor
They should do something like this for transformers cyberverse. They already have suits and vehicles but they need something that combines.
Excellent! This takes me back, although I didn't have many Gobots-I had some of the superGobots, but I was mostly into TF. I wish Gobots made a comic book-that's why I liked TF better
Well, IDW has some GoBots comics now.
I had both Transformers and Go-Bots. Preferred Transformers, but had plenty of fun playing with both.
This might have already been said but I was confused at first when you called the forklift "Scoops". His name is actually Spoons. His coloring does sort of resemble G1 Scoop, though, who you might have had in mind.
Love the British stereotyping with Royal-T/Harrier
@stephen88hox your never too old to get excited over toys :)
Good place to research is under "Machine Robo" here on UA-cam. The ads for the original from Japan are posted.
wait wait wait...the forklift's name is spoons... i could make sooo many rude jokes about that...lol
Yeah, I’m pretty sure one of my uncles has a loco still, though I’m not sure, also, loco is kinda on the nose there as names go
oh the sound of cracking plastic...
My question is, were you as disappointed by him as an adult, as much as I was as a child?
NO! No grandma that is NOT a transformer!
Spoons is actually a Renegade. I thought Royal T was a Renegade when I was young so I always put him with the Renegades when I played with them.
Blue Jay royal t changes sides in the cartoon, he becomes a renegade so you werent wrong
hell yeah I'm gettin' these!!!!!!!!!!!!
And some gobots appeared in the newer TF comics.
Hes cool, but now to get Courages and Grungy your looking at about 160 to 170 a piece for the group. Ive been trying to get them for awhile now.

lol, that fool leader one got compressed
Somewhere in east San Jose is a sandbox with all of these things burred in it.

cool ,.. i just picked it up for 30 bucks canadian,.. complete in box. all the parts. nice vid :)
i had that train when i was little :)
The head of the power suit reminds me of the Delta Megazord's head
you can see some of its weapons if you check ''Gobots - Power Warrior Commercial '' here , on you tube .
Awesome!
just got back into go bots and gonna get the renegade power suits for my good guy go bots. gonna try for the main space ship later when i can afford it.
Holy crap, I had this as a kid and never knew what the crap it was from. o_O
Now I wish I kept it. T_T
Did you do separate reviews for Jeeper creeper mr28, Loco mr5, Royal t mr19?
And I'm getting Jeeper creeper.
Does amazon or any other toysite have this particular Go-bot?
And yes, the Robot's "Shoes," used to fire these tiny missiles. Each were the size of two Tic Tacs put end to end.
very throwback lol oh my god!
plz note that " gobots" were also seen in another anime prior and the powered suits/shuttle was named something different
i've still got the main body, and might have other parts somewhere
@Transformatics actually no,.. the holes are pretty much pointless, the gun pieces dont fit.
just checked.
did they make orange repaints of loco? i think i have one he is in pieces at the moment.(legs are broken) but mine looks very similar to it except for colour.
damn i had almost all of these except for that jet i do believe that i had all these.
I always pretended Jeepers Creepers was Hound
Gun ports
Their supposed to be on the outside
Is he taller than Fortress Maximus?
I have the full grungy. The only difference is the paitn/ color scheme.
Can you put Ninja Turtles in it like the version used for Bootleg Zones?
i'd love to see a comparison video of your 10 biggest figures(what are they BTW?). Preferably on location so you don't have to lug them anywhere XD
Hey wow! You're reviewing gobots on the internet.
I want that for my bday
I remember this toy.
Gee, he should put predaking next to him...and he does xD
Cool
Awesome video man =D
Had this
The Japanese version shot missles from the feet. Thats what the holes were for.
No, but some Gobots fit in certain suits than others. The combined suits don't look at good if empty.
Now throw a basketball at it...
i had a bunch of gobots than transformers came out and i was mesmorised .
gobots became paper weight 😳🤣✌🇺🇸🇨🇱
Miss the days before safety laws became silly. :P
What's sad I used to have that when I was a kid.
is he bigger than Fortress Maximus or Scorponok?
Illiniguy34 no scorponok and especially fortress maximus are bigger than courageous
do you need the figures?
He's really big, how big.......let me show you.
i was gunna laugh if you broke one of them while struggling to fit them togather.
have you heard of the nemesis version
wesleyv1
STARS!
They look more like Exo Frames rather then Power Suits.
this thing has megazord articulation
is he bigger then your Go enger G12?
had them all..burned up in a house fire :(

I had jeeper creeper lol
looks more like stasis pods
I had Loco...
Gi Joe figures fit in the power suites better...any gi Joe figure.
#bringbackoldbaltmatrix
really really?
@illiniguy34 not even remotely close
Does any one else think a the names were made by a drunk guy?
Nah, I bet they just came up with names on the spot.
no it is not
There were missles in the original machine robo version of this figure
no i did not mean to rate 1 star i acidentally clicked i am on a laptop

@Octorok172
Yea but atleast im not an adult jizzing of a fucking kid toy LOL
