I'm just glad for new ideas for builds.. I always loved Runeblades, they felt like Green Lantern throwing stars.. like I am a GLC ninja! Just got back after 6+ years and started an Arcanist and 99% of everything I look up for my Arcanist is 8+months old and alot of dated ideas. Thanks for the fresh new take for 43! subbed to keep up with your content!
How he was saying about status effects. Just rune of colorless Pool, elemental Susceptibility with mage skills Structured Entropy (either morp) and scalding rune
Ya i think i got roughly 122k with runeblades when arc first came out. It wasnt that far behind then and the buff to tentac flail (and other fatecarv nerfs) i can see it being slightly ahead single target now… perfect video as usual.
I love trying different sets and builds, but using high land sentinel on a parse seems sort of cheap. When are you ever just standing still or have the chance to? Only very few encounters allows for this and basically get nothing out of it if you move. Idk i just know I’m not going to use it as I’m running around doing mechanics
I’ve shown in a bunch of videos that highland is perfectly useable in a lot of content for a few reasons: A) Historically the meta was siroria, up until about Rockgrove, and the was a set that required a lot of precision with movement before it got easier to use. B) Like with any other 5 piece, maximizing damages requires you to change the way you play to some degree: riptide requires you to keep Stam below 33% for example. With practice, you’d be surprised how many fights you can maintain perfect highland stacks with good preparation and anticipation of mechs as opposed to reactive raiding. C) Highlands main benefit is the 2-4 piece. Even if you can on average keep half your stacks, it’s still one of if not the strongest option, and the penalty for losing stacks mathematically becomes less severe the more you move: 10-5-3-2-2-1 is usually how many times you have to move to go from 10 to 1, and you can’t really go below one because it refreshes once every second. It’s very usable, just a pain XD
Regardless of it falling out of top slot dps, pragmatic fate carver with a back bar maelstrom inferno is still good dps and easily managed. This is going to fall off big time in hard content but the majority of the community isn't doing that anyway. I still feel like my Stam arc carries the majority of vet queue content.
So with tentacular dread doing more damage, what’s the chance a now buffed multi target traveling knife that generates crux ends up being close to meta?
@@eigh1puppies Yeah at the very least physical/bleed damage is a better status effect, you get execute scaling AND some aoe. Slap on the major crit buff so you don't have to double bar camo and I'm intrigued.
The problem with tentacular dread is it consumes crux and is weaker in comparison to fatecarver. Maybe runeblades vs flail might be something to think about
I would like to see if Abyssal Ink from flail can be used by atleast 1 member of the group ,then everyone can benefit on it 😁 If there are more arcanist in the group might be good to change to runeblades. However at some reason need flail in some scenarios where you go portal team to heal yourself up
the beam is cooler so I'll use it lol As a plar main i just want jabs to hit 4 times again or blazing spear being a good aoe dot. There's a guy on my server[ps-na] peacez. Dudes insane he can hit 130k+ on almost any stam dps.
Console players will soon copy-paste this meta build to maximize their dummy dps. Dungeon and Trial DPS will go down in any unorganized runs due to the lack of area damage. Also, ”can we run Cloudrest” requests will start appearing again.
Just great, there was one class not depending on Relequen... playing a little bit different than others, let's say not the same overall, well... now it goes the same. Needles to say new skill crafting is less than irrelevant in terms of real power and variety for builds. Yeeeey.. amazing (absolute sarcasm tone)
would it not be possible to drop deadly cloak since arcanist already gets minor evasion from passives and instead runeblade, dread and fatecarver? runeblades to build crux, spend on one dread, build back to 3 then beam. by then the ink buff would fall off so switch back to that and possibly reapply dots. much busier rotation but maybe one of you high end guys can do it?
First off, cloak is run for its damage: with the skill itself and for better enchant proccing, it’s really strong! Second, it gives Major Evasion, which is super nice for a ton of content in combination with the arcs minor evasion Third, I tested the bar setup you mentioned a long time ago when the class first came out and it did a little worse than just regular Runeblades or regular Fatecarver if I recall. I don’t think enough has changed to make that setup relevant but I could be wrong!
"Opens up a whole new world of sets that the Arc can run"... my entire body shakes in exitement, waiting to hear about that new world, 2 seconds later: "Relequen" same as every single class in game, damn it, almost ZERO variety in theorycrafting in this game, and of course not because players, but because lazy devs
Haha the “meta” is going to be the meta in every game, but the arc can’t consistently run the vast variety of good sets out there that most classes can: rele, advancing, Selene, siroria, greatsword, bows: this list massive because most good sets in the game require sources of direct, or light attack damage
As a Player who started the game like 2 Weeks ago the build variety seemed super overwhelming. Been mostly playing as tank but for vatasheran i needed to come up With a dps build to be able to clear It. I really disliked fate carver so i went with runeblades and 2h skills which worked really well. This is the first eso video i watched but it tells me my build is atleast somewhat decent 😊
@@eigh1puppies very happy someone did. On the initial release of the arcanist, I was kinda disappointed that runeblades were actually a loss of damage using them as a crux generator for fatecarver bc two flails was just easier and saved bar space. And for those that like the arc for aesthetics, this gives a more interactive rotation rather than just yawning through all the beams lol
This nerf is just going to hurt low skill players, just like how nerfing oakensoul has proven to do nothing but hurt the floor of the game, you really notice it in random vet duengon finder
Oakensoul created a permanent floor that many couldn’t climb out of. Velothi was and is the better mythic for curbing the skill between players while also fitting into the meta and casual 4 man play.
Honestly you can really see how low the skill level is when you queue into a vet dungeon. It's 2024 and I still can't tank a simple pledge without it taking 20 to 30 minutes because the dps is so low.
I have an Oakensoul heavy attack build that regularly is top ten in the weekly arena leaderboards (Mael and Vateshran). I took 2nd in my last Mael run as a Necro. If thats the floor, the ceiling is pretty low. Also 4 man dungeon content I regularly pull 60-70% of the group dps…
Oakensoul was a big problem in PvP as well. Was not too fun to see that im suddenly struggling a bit against people who didn't have a single clue what they're doing just because they slapped oakensoul.
@@BenvolioCapulet9 Thats great! But thats not the ceiling. 1 bar builds lack the damage to get the hardest content in the game done. People just re-create the same build and play the one with the best passives each patch. If they buff scribing, it will push us even further away from class skills. It just seems so unnecessary
I'm still thinking that zos should have made an limitation for scribing skills, for example only being able to slot 1 scripted skill per bar etc. That would have been better for the health of the game and the system, if they decide to add more grims in the future.
