#ShootingUSA - Спорт
RIP, this is my first time hearing about his passing. His voice and delivery is iconic.
Yes it was, I remember Jim vividly over 25 years ago on Shooting USA (it's where I learned about the Smith and Wesson 342 Airlite ti and the Philadelphia Deringer) and he did a few reviews on Motortrend.
I'm 71 and have watched this man for decades on various stages and he does have the voice, I haven't seen him for quite a time. Kinda been outta sight.
I remember watching him on the Outdoor Channel as a child at my grandparents house. A major influence in my childhood. Thanks Jim for everything
I remember watching Jim on the TNN Network back in the 1980’s along with Jimmy Houston, Bill Dance and Roland Martin on Saturday’s and Sunday’s growing up all of them are Icons of the outdoors.
I watched him at my grandparents house as well since they were the ones who had cable tv back then. It fueled my life long obsession with firearms and their history.
Bob munden, Tom knapp, now Jim. I grew up watching all these guys from my teenage years. Now all three are RIP. Thankfully Jerry Miculek is still kicking, but he's up there in age too. Wow
I grew up with all of them too, I remember all of them fondly in the 90's.
Jerry's still setting records
Remember Byron Ferguson, also?
@@matthewmccain9865 he's a marksman as well with that Long bow.
As a 55 y/o man, let me tell you, I have many fond memories watching Jim's show. What a great man and he will be missed.
Walked up to him at SHOT show and asked for his autograph, he said I know who you are. Say what? What a pleasure meeting him. God bless. RIP.
I watched Jim and Shooting USA for years. Thanks for the memories!
Jim Scoutten will never be forgotten.
I too am just hearing of Mr Scouten’s passing. We enjoyed him on the Outdoor Channel, and my late husband had the pleasure to meet him years ago. Mr Scoutten was and is an icon to those of us who love the sport and appreciate the intricacy and beauty of firearms. He such a neighborly way about him and seemed to be ever the gentleman. RIP.
I remember when he used to narrate the automotive/hot rod shows on TNN. Very distinctive voice.
A southing voice you would know anywhere. A very nice tribute to a great man.

Thanks for the memories Jim. Keep it in the 10-ring!
The unmistakable voice of an honorable man. Steadfast in his dedication to his family, his country, the shooting sports and the 2nd Amendment. He will be greatly missed but, his legacy will live on through his family, friends and those in the community that he has touched. Thank you Mr Jim Scouten and to his family for allowing us to be a part of honoring a truly great man. 😢 🇺🇸

I remember watching Jim on TNN with the old “American Shooter” show. Where did time go😢
Him and TRUCKS! with Stacy were the main reasons I watched TNN.
For a kid growing up in anti-gun Canada American Shooter was the ultimate contraband!
So many fond memories thanks to Jim and his efforts. He will be missed and prayers for his family.
RIP Jim, you're missed
I always enjoyed watching Shooting USA with him, he was a class act.
The OG GunTuber, even when he was on TV. It was a good time anytime he was on the screen😊
When I watched Jim, I felt like I was listening to “the adult in the room”, the “authority” on any topic he discussed. Jim was “the gentleman” of the gun industry.
Oh, no! Jim Scoutten was a legend. Thank you Jim, you will be missed by millions. To Jim's family - I am very sorry. His work was so enjoyable.
Jim is missed by all. Loved his distinctive voice. He will always be remembered.
I was fortunate enough to meet Jim Scoutten back in 1993 at a Grand Master's Tournament in western Illinois. He was friendly and a gentleman. He was a wonderful representative for the shooting sports. My condolences to the family.
First I herd of him passing. Prayers for his family and friends. I loved watching him and I learned so much from him.
Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He will be missed. What a great voice,I’m not surprised that he was a news anchor.
Jim, Tom, Byron, and Bob were always on our TV when I was in high school. I also watched Jim on car and driver tv.
Watched him for years and was one of the driving factors of me getting into shooting sports.. RIP Jim and keep em in the 10 ring up there .
Met Jim and John when Jim invited me to tour their studio. Introduced me to everyone there. No rush at all. Jim and his son John are class acts and produce high quality videos. Let’s all support their channel as much as possible!😊
A legend dies and we are heartbroken. May God rest his soul.
We will keep um in that 10 ring Mr. Scoutten!
I grew up watching Jim on the show each week before joining the Military. That was back before the days of the Internet, and I learned a lot about the shooting sports that I never would have heard of otherwise. RIP Mr. Scoutten!!!
Gonna miss Jim. So sad to see this news. I first remember him from Car and Driver before Shooting USA. His voice was always so captivating and he seemed like a warm heart. I sent him a message a few years back telling how much I appreciated his work. I hope he read it. Rest easy Jim. 🙏🏻
So sorry for the family’s loss . Absolutely loved Jim. He will be missed God Bless
I will never forget watching him every week with my dad as a kid it was our show
RIP The voice of shooting sports. A great ambassador for those who enjoy freedom!
I also like the car show he was doing25 or so years ago absolutely classic guy gentleman he will be missed.
I remember watching shooting USA on cable television back in the early 2000s. I was still a teenager living with my mother when she was still alive and I always looked forward every week to watching the show, and I even recorded quite a few episodes on VHS. I specifically remember at the end of one of the episodes, Jim was shooting an AK with bright orange handguards on it. RIP Mr. Scoutten 😥
Jim Scoutten has been for many years the face and voice of media presence for the shooting sports. He will be sorely missed.
I grew up watching this man. He will be dearly missed.
I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I really enjoyed his shows. One thing I'll always remember is when I would email Jim, he would always get back to me. May he rest in peace!
Legends never die. He was a legend. I didn’t need to be watching. Just the voice alone let me know he was on. IT helped take a hobby and transform it into a passion and if you ask some an obsession for me. I think what I loved most was he talked all disciplines.
This is how I find out that he has passed….I am so sad. I met him several years ago. What a gentleman! A giant in our sport. TV will never be the same. RIP, sir!
We'll miss you Jim. Whether you knew it or not, you were in many of our lives and had a small hand in making some of us who we are.

I too am just learning of this. I am one of the legions who avidly watched Jim for years, loving his delivery and passion for all aspects of shooting, not just run-n-gun or fudd sport. He was a class act. May God have mercy on his soul and send comfort upon his family. I lost my father recently as well, my condolences to the entire Scoutten family.

Thank you Jim for all you’ve helped and we will never forget you! My son, as well as myself have been watching Shooting USA for many years. It changed our lives, it really did. Folks, the torch has been passed! PLEASE like and subscribe! All of this is a generational thing, let’s keep it alive!
He is now in the place where Bob mundon and Tom Knapp are. Someone once said, there's heroes and there's legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die, follow your, and you'll never go wrong.
I remember meeting him at the Costa Mesa Fairground at a gun show. I heard his voice turned around and said hi to him. Rest in peace Jim.
I started watching him when he was doing Motortrend and Car&Driver. Then I discovered him again on the Outdoor Channel. Great American.
I had forgot about that...
Jim had a very unique voice it was really cool, I will never forget him! Very saddened to hear of his passing.
This man is one of the biggest reasons that I go into weapons & cars. Thank you, Jim for all your knowledge & entertaining shows over all these years. My colleague to his loved ones.

I would play episodes running in the background because of his voice. He was a true legend.
This brought tears to my eyes.
Shooting USA and Jim helped expose me to the world of firearms and the incredible guests they hosted. Jim’s voice resonated confidence and professionalism along with a profound appreciation and knowledge of firearms. Made for a super star of a host, I will truly miss hearing his voice.
RIP SIR! 🫡 Jim was literally the reason how I got into the shooting sports and outdoors. I used to watch every episode on the weekends with my dad. Love you Jim
Watched this show for years, he will be missed.
I just learned about Jim's passing. So sad. I've loved his show for years. Thanks brother.
The speech when he gets the Legends award....that's so cool, I have been watching forever! It was Shooting USA that sent me from Alaska to K&M for a long range training class after watching a segment on the GAP Grind, which led me to move to Middle TN and start shooting PRS...and of course one of my prized possessions in the Hood that you and Jim signed. RIP to a legend in the shooting sports!
Rest in Peace Jim. I always enjoyed watching your show.
Sad to hear of Jim's passing. I remember watching him on outdoor channel for years on shooting USA😢

A truly great American
With a great voice 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
As a kid in the nineties, Jim was more than just a memorable voice. He was definitely a huge influence on my love for the sport. Legend is almost an understatement for a person who was so influential to so many who never got to meet Jim. Thank you for existing.
When I had access to the Outdoor Channel I watched Jim on Shooting USA religiously for many years. I had not heard of his passing until this either. Rest in peace, Jim!
A true shooting sports icon. Cannot be replaced.
RIP Jim, thank you for all you have done. You are a great man.
I remember watching some of his videos. Sad to hear this passing. RIP
So sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I always enjoyed his show and loved his voice and catch phrase. God Bless to his family and friends.
I saw Jim rehearse at the Masters in 91 or 92. Then when he got his show Shooting USA I sent him an email about seeing him at the Masters back in the day. Nice man and gone too. soon.
We are getting to the time when we see al our childhood heroes pass. We owe it to Mr. Scoutten to pass on his legacy to those coming up behind us. If we can be half as good as he was, we will all be great!
A true legend in our sport! RIP, Jim!
