The voice, the incredible face, the body language, all I see is a man, 100% man, bottom surgery or not. A hot one i got to say!

great video. I also hate all the pressure questions from bottom surgery. Recently someone asked me if I had the bottom surgery and I said no , the response was " well why now you're just a 3/4 man.." and that was probably most offensive thing anyones ever said to me. I don't think having that part is what makes a man and to make your partner happy.

Canuck390 WOW I can't believe that someone would say that. No, you're just a man, period. Who gives a crap what a guy is packing or not packing. ;P on the lighter/and fun side, you can choose what size you want to be if you did want to slap that person in the face, how many guys can say that hahaha. :D Stay strong, and don't let that negativity get you down. I can't believe some people though, that's completely ignorant, and rude.

I think the main thing is if you're happy. If you don't want the surgery, great! All the power to you, if you did, that's great too. The important thing is how you feel. Thanks for sharing your story :) Best of luck to you!

Be who you want to be hun, not how people what to see you to be. You seem like a very nice sweet guy. Dont worry about people, because at the end of the day, you are making yourself happy, not everybody else. Stay amazing hun. Dont change yourself for others, change yourself for you.

I am a gay man that in my younger days dated more than a few other gay men. A Penis does not make you a man. A penis is not what gets a person off. It is the brain and the way you feel about the person you are being intimate with. How he or she touches you and talks to you and so on. It boggles my mind that any human would think it was OK to ask another human about what your genitals look like. It only matters if the person is about to be intimate with you, and by that time I am sure you have clued them in on what you like or don't like and what to expect.

I feel like you don't need to defend yourself at all. Just do you, man. I really support your opinions on it. I'm a new subbie, but I've seen a lot of your videos through one of my best friends and I really enjoy your channel. On a side note, I could listen to you talk for hours, your voice is very nice and soothing. Something about it just makes me happy (:

I don't see why whether or not you have had or will ever have bottom surgery is such a topic of interest to people. You are a man no matter what and what you have downstairs is your business and yours only. Although I don't agree with the people who question and badger you I do admire your approach to the people with invasive questions because I'd probably have a hard time remaining so calm. You are a rad dude Sky!

misscoolishere A hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus and cervix etc, and the bottom surgery I am speaking of is to change the vagina into a penis. : )

I feel that same way about it.. Well, almost. I haven't started on hormones and I haven't done any surgery. I just feel like getting rid of the breasts is the biggest thing. I would feel so much more comfortable with myself, and I don't think I need the bottom surgery. I might change my mind in the future, but it's not really my biggest concern.
Thanks Sky for talking about it, I think this could open peoples mind about what a "man" is and that as long as you feel complete, it doesn't matter. Stay strong and awesome man!

  • @minigiioi

A month or so ago I looked more into bottom surgery, what if is and how it works etc. (I had looked before but not really found the information I was looking for and didn't know how to get more information, bc youtube really doesn't have any bottom surgery ftm videos as opposed to mtf where there are so many). Going through that made me extremely disphoric because there really is just no way to get a made penis to be like the real thing and that was a really rough realization and since then I've been trying really hard, and been more successful than I dreamed, of coming to terms with and even accepting my vagina, and that really helped and I'm really happy for you that you are also (at least seemingly, I won't force familiarity) happy and comfortable with yourself and that's a powerful and good message to be sending to trans people of today, worrying about their bodies and being told that their identities aren't valid, so thank you.

    • @minigiioi
      @minigiioi 9 років тому

Note: I'm not at all closed to bottom surgery, it's likely it will progress through time and research and I may simply want it more later in my life. Also when I said I was becoming more comfortable with my vagina, I mean more than I was, I'm still far from completely comfortable, but it's better than it was and I'm very glad

This is a great video and I think it's awesome to emphasize that your identity as a masculine person is way too complex to be centred around a single procedure. Glad to hear you are happy in your body and your life, much love Sky

I just wanted to say that I came across your videos by chance. To be honest, I originally clicked on one of your videos because I found you attractive without even having read the title.
Thank you for being so open with your transition and answering all these tough questions because I can only imagine that it is difficult sometimes. There were a lot of questions I had when my friend discovered her bf was FTM that I knew were not appropriate to ask. I am thankful that you and others on the internet have provided an opportunity to ask questions but also learn respect and whatever understanding is possible.
I agree with the person who said that the main thing is that you are happy and with your point that you feel comfortable in your body. I think that is a beautiful thing.

If you're happy, everyone else should be. I find that a lot of people will be aggressive about an issue to compensate for their underlying insecurities about a choice they've already made. For a long time I felt very dysphoric about my chest, but eventually that resolved when I got involved with someone who made me feel positive about being female for the first time in my life. Sometimes it takes a little waiting and some mental work to get on an even keel. Thank you for the honest video Sky :)

Just wanted to say that you're an awesome guy Sky. I personally feel that identity plays more into a person's gender than what they have between their legs or their chests. I wish that more guys thought they were manly without focusing on their lower body or sexual prowess. For me it's how a guy treats other people that makes me see them as manly or not as manly. I like men that treat people with respect, or do things that are kind just because they can. That's what manly is to me, being strong mentally, physically and embracing your emotions. Now that's manly. :D Nothing wrong with being proud of what you've got but what you haven't got doesn't make you any less of a man or woman.

I would like to say watching this video got me thinking a lot about myself and I totally agree with you Skylar. You shouldn't have to tell people something you wouldn't have to if it makes you feel uncomfortable or any bad feeling. I like to say a big thank you for expressing yourself the way you did and it will now help me out on thinking when the time comes for me IF I really want bottom surgery or not.

  • @GuacamoleKun
    @GuacamoleKun 10 років тому

I really love this video. I feel much the same, and it's really hard sometimes to balance and express the dissonance of not wanting X procedure but accepting others who have had it. And in the end it usually comes down to me trying to say that I think it's ALL superficial, but that that's OKAY, but then the other person gets aaaalllllll pissed off that I think it's superficial because it's so important to them. That's not what I mean to do. Like you said, I'm happy with what my body can do. It can do so much! And adding bits on won't, like, enhance my skills or anything. It's just superficial. That's what has lead me to accepting it so much better than I did before. I just wish I could spread that to others, because so many people are unhappy with what their body ISN'T, and I think they'd be happier if they focus on what it IS. But if they decide to change some stuff about it, that's just fine. That's part of their journey.

Yes and no - I can't stop T because I've had a hysterectomy, meaning my body won't produce enough hormones for me to be healthy (at this age - think that I'd be in permanent menopause if I were to stop T.) So I'd need to be taking estrogen if not T, for hormone replacement therapy. Google "Hudson's FTM Guide" and it will tell you which changes on T are permanent - body fat, emotional cycles, menstruation (if not had a hysto,) among other changes will resume if one stops T.

Every trans person is different - there is no video that will show you how to enter a relationship, sexual or emotional, with a trans person, only advice on it. My advice for if you are thinking about having a sexual relationship with a trans person, is have open communication, say what you like, ask them what they are comfortable with/like/want, discuss prosthetics/dysphoria, and then explore together consensually, mutual respect at all times. I'd say that for any relationship really.

Thanks for this video. As with a lot of your videos it gave me a lot to think about. I agree with your response to that comment. Certainly, if the only thing that's going to make someone's girlfriend happy is what's in his pants then that relationship should be seriously questioned. What makes someone a man goes so much deeper. I have a lot of thoughts on this but just know that your journey is reflected in a lot of people in a positive way. You're a good man, Skylar.

    I want bottom surgery.
    But I can't afford it.
It's very frustrating...and I try not to think about it to avoid spiraling into a deep depression.
I am trying to save as much as possible, and am always looking for new opportunities that may help me.
But realistically it will take a LONG time to get there, and maybe it won't happen at all.
So I'm trying to be confident and happy without it, as you are.
But omfg it's hard for me!

I'm comfortable with it but the reason I won't approach that subject is because I can only speak about my own sexuality and sex life. I have tons of FTM friends who go about sex and their relationships in entirely different ways - so sharing my own preferences really only shows one side of an unlimited-sided situation, and would only shed light on my own sexual life (something I don't see the need to share with the world, only with my partner/future partners.)

Good for you Skye (sooty if I misspelled that). I hate to admit it but there's a lot of social pressure within the trans community to want bottom surgery. So I'm happy for you that you're comfortable with being awesome just the way you are!!

I can already - but yes, for some, the surgery is more for urinating standing up rather than sexual function.

I can't understand the people who "push" you. As long as you are happy with you and yourself it's totaly fine. Plus: every surgery is a danger..
By the way: I like your voice and your music, you are great.

I don't care what you have. Or what you don't have honestly. I think your awesome and whatever the hell you wanna do, do it.

Of course I would - I've had many attractive girl friends who were born otherwise :) I just happen to be in a relationship, so I'm not in the dating game, but when I say I'm primarily attracted to women - that includes mtf folks absolutely!

I think you said this well, and were mindful of peoples feelings who have had, or want to have bottom surgery. So kudos to you on that.. Me, well, I never really wanted bottom surgery either. For me, I have had concerns about complications, and as you had said, there were no results I liked 100%, even after doing much research, looking at different surgeons results, etc. none of them would make ME feel 100% happy with the result. Granted, I have never had much bottom dysphasia. In most cases
