Why arrest em, just make him sign up for a modern college level philosophy and critical thinking class, require a B or get fined. Then they at least will have to learn why there actions where wrong and how their mindset is harmful to society. Arresting people for such things usually doesn't improve them as a person, they just don't commit that particular crime again. Sometimes.

honestly, you shouldnt be allowed to make a report anonymously, if you are willing to make a report on a potential hazard, you need to face the consequences for being so blatantly wrong, if it was a misconception like: "oh sorry, I thought it was against regulation and it looks like its not, my bad!" then no big deal, thanks for the report and report if you see anything hazardous or dangerous in the future. But when it is a situation like this where the person who submitted it knows well and good that it is not a violation, you need to be held accountable for wasting the FAAs time.

Two important lessons here: Do not feed the trolls. and Never argue with angry ignorant people... it's not a winnable discussion to begin with, and it is often followed by vindictive BS - as is clearly show here. IMO, the root cause is "anonymous" reporting to the "authorities." It gives mental and emotional midgets a sense of power, with zero responsibility for the massive amount of time and tax payer money that they waste every year.

Each time I had all of of the doctors and nurses that were coming out to the house 3 times per week sing my praises about her care, and it went away with one visit from gubbermint burro-craps... No offense intended to the actual case workers who were awesome. God help the Average Joe in the same situation who doesn't have my level of education, medical expertise, and people skills... or a guaranteed check that pays the bills. If you HAVE TO WORK, and your momma ever get's sick... then you are fcked. I couldn't have done it without that $800 check coming in every month. to barely pay my bills. The more coverage you do of it in videos, the more trolls are going to call the FAA. I've seen this pattern with so many UA-camrs who make news of what trolls do. It only encourages them to do more. The "do not report" shirts will also encourage more FAA call-ins, not less

As an airline pilot I can completely understand the heart-sinking reaction to the FAA reaching out. The complaint obviously had no basis and you always know and respect the FARs. What an insane waste of everybody's time. Keep flying!
As a fellow pilot in Canada I can confirm is not a great felling having Transport canada contact as well. (They were just telling me my medical was approved) Tho don't be afraid to report actual offences like unlicensed pilots and instructors

I've been in aviation 50 years (plus 3 months) and there is no doubt it defined the major parts of my life. My best friend in middle school went by the name Tuck. Not sure if his name was Tuckeray or Tucker Ray.
Tucker, I think the Idiot that reported you was just looking out for himself. Allow me to explain. Imagine that, upon dropping the role of toilet paper, a dust devil sucked it up. It could have taken it out of the one-square-mile area you were over, possibly depositing it into a severe thunderstorm, out of which may have dropped a Cat 5 tornado which could have very easily sucked the role further into the storm. Said role might have been catapulted upwards thanks to intense updrafts, eventually achieving an unpredictable Earth orbit. This role might have (eventually), met up with, and wrapped itself around the Intl Space Station....possibly fully covering its solar panels. Without the ability to recharge its battery bank, the ISS would eventually loose all power, its ability for telemetry, etc. And that, it goes without saying, would certainly lead to a decaying orbit causing the ISS to re-enter Earth's atmosphere and almost certainly end up crashing into this idiot's trailer.

I understand that you can get started for under 5000$ including training if you buy second hand gear. Of course, you need to know enough about it to determine if it's safe, much like buying a second hand motorcycle.
Why do people lie to the higher-ups? That guy on instagram is the equivalent of someone filing a copyright strike to someone using Fair Use. Or someone filing a false DMCA takedown in the animation community just because they didn’t like the criticism. Toying with the government is illegal, so they need to learn the law before falsely accusing someone of crimes they didn’t do.
This is a false report of a crime, which is a crime. If the FAA should track down this guy and fine him to the legal limit. Examples being made are the only way to stop the trolls.

Diane Johnson violating most FARs are usually handled with civil penalties and licensure suspensions not criminal action. Criminal action is pretty much reserved for flying Into TFR’s (temporary flight restrictions like the airspace around the Super Bowl) or restricted military airspace. Trying to follow up on prosecuting this guy would just be more of a waste of FAA resources.
Another thing is, when reporting this kind of thing the FAA should be able to get their name and make it public... to name and shame! That'll stop those trolls.

Tucker, I totally understand you. I really want to share my story with you. I got the same problem when I threw TP and paper airplanes out of my paraglider. After posting my video, I was in real trouble. I live in Germany and our FAA, which is called DHV , THREATHENED me that they will revoke my paraglider license. The area where the TP and the paper planes landed, was a huge empty meadow. No one could ever get hurt! I had big issues with them as well. In Germany they are freaking crazy. I had similar situation when flying my drone. I was flying it like 10 feet maybe, testing stuff and i was flying it next to this ladys house.. i was on a sidewalk and she said I cant fly it there, cant fly by her house and it was illegal LOL.

Tucker I live in Arkansas. I live on 5 acres. About a month ago while mowing I noticed a golf ball in my field. I do not golf and no one around my property does. After finding about 10 golf balls I figured out that some of my pilot friends were flying over and were doing a great job of putting them in my field for me to find. Ha!

I was literally typing "your mistake was under estimating...." when you said exactly that. Glad to see you realized it. The more coverage you do of it in videos, the more trolls are going to call the FAA. I've seen this pattern with so many UA-camrs who make news of what trolls do. It only encourages them to do more. The "do not report" shirts will also encourage more FAA call-ins, not less

As an airline pilot I can completely understand the heart-sinking reaction to the FAA reaching out. The complaint obviously had no basis and you always know and respect the FARs. What an insane waste of everybody's time. Keep flying!
As a fellow pilot in Canada I can confirm is not a great felling having Transport canada contact as well. (They were just telling me my medical was approved)
Tho don't be afraid to report actual offences like unlicensed pilots and instructors

Tucker, I think the Idiot that reported you was just looking out for himself. Allow me to explain. Imagine that, upon dropping the role of toilet paper, a dust devil sucked it up. It could have taken it out of the one-square-mile area you were over, possibly depositing it into a severe thunderstorm, out of which may have dropped a Cat 5 tornado which could have very easily sucked the role further into the storm. Said role might have been catapulted upwards thanks to intense updrafts, eventually achieving an unpredictable Earth orbit. This role might have (eventually), met up with, and wrapped itself around the Intl Space Station....possibly fully covering its solar panels. Without the ability to recharge its battery bank, the ISS would eventually loose all power, its ability for telemetry, etc. And that, it goes without saying, would certainly lead to a decaying orbit causing the ISS to re-enter Earth's atmosphere and almost certainly end up crashing into this idiot's trailer.

Diane Johnson violating most FARs are usually handled with civil penalties and licensure suspensions not criminal action. Criminal action is pretty much reserved for flying Into TFR’s (temporary flight restrictions like the airspace around the Super Bowl) or restricted military airspace. Trying to follow up on prosecuting this guy would just be more of a waste of FAA resources.
I don’t fly but I watch you. I see people around Colorado doing this and I love it. Would like to try it some day but for now it’s not in my budget.

Tucker, I totally understand you. I really want to share my story with you. I got the same problem when I threw TP and paper airplanes out of my paraglider. After posting my video, I was in real trouble. I live in Germany and our FAA, which is called DHV , THREATHENED me that they will revoke my paraglider license. The area where the TP and the paper planes landed, was a huge empty meadow. No one could ever get hurt! I had big issues with them as well. In Germany they are freaking crazy. I had similar situation when flying my drone. I was flying it like 10 feet maybe, testing stuff and i was flying it next to this ladys house.. i was on a sidewalk and she said I cant fly it there, cant fly by her house and it was illegal LOL.

Tucker I live in Arkansas. I live on 5 acres. About a month ago while mowing I noticed a golf ball in my field. I do not golf and no one around my property does. After finding about 10 golf balls I figured out that some of my pilot friends were flying over and were doing a great job of putting them in my field for me to find. Ha!
